Chapter 5

"Solaris, No! Stop this right now!"

"Stay back foul demons!!! You shall not ever best me when I am inside my fortress!!!" I shouted in a heroic voice before jumping up from behind my table and lobbing the cake I had in my hoof at the doorway.

"Cover!!!" Shouted the same guard that had just tried to tell me to stop. I watched as about six guards dived to the sides of the door frame, but one just stood there, eyes shrinking to pin pricks.

I watched as the cake I tossed sailed through the air, heading right for the shocked guard.

*SPLAT*

"BOOM HEADSHOT!!!" I cheered while throwing both of my forelegs in the air before dropping back down and readying another cake to toss.

This all started back when a single royal guard came along with hopes to just deliver me to his Princess with absolutely no problems whatsoever. But I was not going to just be a pushover. I was going to make life difficult for them all.

The guard, who I learned was named Sure Shot, waltzed into my room with his head held high, walked over to me and smiled as he saw that I was awake. He asked me to get up and follow him when I was ready, but his smiled fell when I said no.

He tried asking again and even begging, but I still refused to move. But what I did not expect was for him to do what he did next.

He grew a look of determination on his face before lighting up his horn and dragging me out of the bed with his magic. He said something about following his orders before he then began to drag me through the castle. I didn't resist. My plan was to just act like a dead weight, but something happened.

He dragged me past the kitchen.

The moment I saw the giant stand filled with lots of different cakes, varying in shapes and sizes, I felt an urge from deep within me. I had no idea where the urge came from, but I knew what it was, and I knew that it was powerful.

I had suddenly grown an urge to act like a child and destroy while having fun.

While I was being dragged away from the kitchen, I reacted by jumping up and pushing the guard that was dragging me before turning and galloping as fast as I could back to the kitchen and locking the door behind me. I heard the guard begin to try and open the door, so I knew I didn't have very long.

I light up my horn and began to levitate everything inside the kitchen, making a fortress and a blockade at the door out of the furniture. I then carefully levitated the cakes over to me and set them on the ground aside from one.

I carefully held the cake in my hooves, not caring about the mess I was getting on my hooves and turned to face the door.

The door swung open and the guard jumped inside, snorting hot air from frustration before a cake made impact with his face hard enough to sen him right back out the door. But as I looked at what I did, I saw a group of guards on patrol standing there with shocked expressions from the guard that had just flown passed them, covered in cake.

They turned to face me as I lobbed another cake, scoring another guard in the stomach. That was when the war began.

Any guard that tried to enter through the blockade at the door was met with with a cake to the face. And that led me back to where I was.

I had just scored a head shot on a guard who just stood there, not knowing what had hit him before I cheered and ducked down to quickly get ready for another attack.

"Guard ponies! What in all of Equestria is..."

The moment I heard the voice, I jumped up and lobbed another cake, sending it soaring through the air before quickly dropping back to my stomach.

"Princess! WATCH OUT!!!" I heard a guard cry out, but he was too late.

*SPLAT*

"HUZZAH!!!"I jumped up and threw my hooves in the air again. But thats when I realized my mistake. My eyes shrank as I took in the appearance of who I had just stuck the the sugary goodness.

Luna. She was covered in cake and did not look too happy about it as she looked over herself.

"Uh-oh." I muttered to myself as I lowered my forehooves from the air slowly. Luna then turned to face me, a murderous look in here eyes.

"Solaris. Thou hast made a terrible mistake making an enemy of us." she said in a low voice as she approached my barricade. "WE SHALL HAVE REVENGE!!!"

She then lit up her horn and multiple cakes appeared around her, all floating in a dark blue aura. My heart dropped as I realized what was about to happen.

One of Luna's cakes then suddenly shot forward in my direction at blinding speed. All I could do was mutter "Oh." before my eyesight turned white and I felt a cold wet feeling hit me.

Luna had struck me with a cake right back into my own face.

I pushed myself back up and wiped my eyes clear with my forelegs before looking over to Luna. I felt my ears flatten against the back of my skull, but as I looked her over, I noticed a smirk upon Luna's muzzle.

"Oh, it is so on now." I said with a smile before quickly dropping back down and picking up another cake. I stood back up, but I spotted another cake flying at me.

I dodged it before throwing my own cake. It sailed towards Luna, but she dropped to her stomach and my cake passed over her and splattered against another guard behind her.

We both looked at the guard as he groaned and pushed himself up. Luna smiled before she lit up her horn brighter, engulfing half of the guards in her blue aura before they all disappeared.

I heard a whoosh and a pop noise on either side of me. Luna had teleported some of the guards beside me before she turned to face me.

"CAKE WAAAARRRRRRR!!!" she shouted before spawning a huge stash of cakes for her team.

"ATTACK!" I shouted back before picking up another cake before throwing it. The guards in my fort smiled to themselves before picking up their own before lobbing them.

The war went on for about 20 minutes. Cakes flying all over the room and hitting random places until both sides had run out of ammo.

After the last cake was thrown, I jumped my fortress wall and rushed the opposition, lighting up my horn and collecting all of the splattered cake everywhere into a huge wave of icing before flicking my horn and sending the wave at their team. The wave passed over them all and basically flattened them.

"VICTORY!!!" I shouted out, earning a loud cheer from my team. We all high-hoofed before making our way over to our defeated opponents and helping them back up.

I walked up to Luna and held out a hoof for her to help her up. but she only smiled evilly before grabbing my hoof and pulling me to the ground into the giant pool of Icing.

We then tossed and tussled for a bit, the guards surrounding us and cheering for who that thought would win the wrestling match between the two team leaders.

We wrestled for a few minutes before we eventually had to stop because we were both too tired to continue. So we both sat there, laughing from the fun we all just had. Even all the guards had dropped their attitude and were laughing as well as they had all just enjoyed the war.

"We should definitely do that again." I said through a few huffs of laboured breath. I looked over us all and saw that we all seemed tired and covered in cake. 'Hmm, I wonder what that Shining Armour is going to say about his guards being covered in cake.

"Alright guards. I believe that it is time to disperse. My nephew an I shall clean up this mess." Luna said in a normal accent to her normal 'we's and thou's'. All the guards saluted before leaving the kitchen, talking to eachother about how much fun the war was.

I stood back up and began to levitate my fortress apart before returning the furniture back to where it belonged. Luna opened a cupboard with her magic and levitated out a heap of cleaning utensils. After I finished with the furniture, I picked up a mop with my forelegs and flew up into the air before beginning to mop up our mess.

About 2 hours later, both Luna and I were standing near the doorway into the kitchen and gazing at our work. We had managed to clean the kitchen right back up to how it was... minus the cakes of course.

"Well, that was fun." I said as I levitated a dirty cloth into a bin.

"Indeed. We have not had so much fun since we discovered discovered its wonders." Luna said. Confused, I turned to face her with a raised eyebrow. "But we must ask. What prompted thou to destroy all of dear Celestia's cakes in such a manor?"

"Wait, all of those cakes were Celestia's?" I asked, to which Luna nodded. I felt like I had just signed my own death warrant, but I had no idea why. "Oh great. But to answer your question, I don't know. I saw all the cakes while I was being dragged to see Celestia and felt an urge to just have some fun." I explained.

Luna's face turned into one of thought form a moment as she let out a hum. But she soon lost the look and smiled to me.

"Come Solaris, thou art still required to see Celestia." Luna said, but the moment the words left her mouth, my ears fell and my shoulders drooped. All the good feelings I was feeling from the fun I had suddenly left me, as if for nothing.

"Great. There goes my fun for the day." I said quietly to myself. "Fine, lets just get this over with."

"Just a moment." Luna said holding up a forehoof to block me. She then lit up her horn before I felt something touch my head. "There. Thou art looking better now."

"What do you mean?" I asked as I reached up to touch what she had placed on my head, only to find out that it was the crown that I found next to me when I woke up. "Ooohh no. I don't think so." I said as I took it off my head and passed it back to Luna.

She looked to me with a confused expression, but did not take the crown from me.

"We do not understand? Thou used to always wear thine crown." she said.

"Again Luna, I'm not the Solaris that you all know. I just happen to look like him." I said, causing Luna to frown in disappointment.

"Solaris, please listen to us... I mean me. I know how you must feel. I hope you don't mind, but I viewed what you do remember inside of your dreams. I know that you think that your name it Orion, but If you allow myself and my sister some time, you will eventually remember what is locked away in your mind." she explained.

"Wait, Celestia said that I would only remember if the connection she tried on me was opened completely?" I asked. Luna opened her mouth to respond, but froze and visibly tensed. "Oh no. She didn't, did she?"

"No my son, I have not."

I tensed when I heard the voice behind me. She was there, standing right behind me and looking down upon my back. I slowly turned around and came face to face with her, those violet orbs peering into mine with so much hope and sorrow. I was about to open my mouth to speak, but she scooped my up into a hug again, but this time, I did not resist.

"I'm sorry Solaris. I should have asked, should have explained myself before trying to force the connection back open." she said as tears came to her eyes. That was when I noticed the bruise I had left her with after our last encounter, when I head butted her on the nose.

'I shouldn't have acted so violently.' I thought to myself as I felt a wave of guilt wash over me as I looked at the bluish-green space. "Look Celestia, I'm sorry about..." I began, but was cut off when she place her hoof on my mouth to stop me.

"Don't be my son. You were scared and acted in self defence. But I give you my word now, if you trust me and allow me to re-open the connection, I promise that you will still be yourself. And your memories from before the age of 9 will return to you." she said.

"I-I don't know. How do you even know that it's me who was your son?" I asked.

"Thats easy. Not only does your energy signature match that of my sons exactly, but only my sons mind could have accepted the connection. You see, if you wern't my son, your mind would have rejected my magic when I tried." she explained.

"I still don't know." I said as I looked away.

"Then listen to me. I have already begun to open the connection with you, this you know. but if the connection is not opened completely your mind will split in two. The mind that you are now, and the mind of a 9 year old child. But the trauma of the split will begin to pull your brain apart more and more until you wind up... dead. You have already experienced this twice now." she said.

"What do you mean twice? I don't remember either." I said.

"Well, first there was when my guards confronted you outside of the old castle. The burst of pain that you felt that was so bad that my sister had to put you to sleep to quell the pain. That pain was from the connection trying to force itself open, but you resisted." she said, I shuddered at the memory. "That was a small sample of what could happen. The second time was not too long ago as it were. With your little battle against my sister with my cakes." she said, causing me to look at her with fear. "You acted like a child because you had an urge to do so, but that urge came from deep within you, from a child who was lost." she explained.

"So, what should I do then?" I asked.

"Allow me to open the connection. As I said, you will still be yourself, but your lost memories will slowly come back."

"How slow?"

"I do not truly know, but you will not be overwhelmed suddenly if that is what you are worried about."

I couldn't help but think that my situation was hopeless. 'So its either die from probably the most agonizing death or become the son of a pony.' I thought to myself. To be honest, most would think that the better option was obvious, but I was still having doubts.

"Can I please have some time? If I am bound to this fate, just give me a day to accept it. and I will let you." I said.

Celestia smiled warmly and gave me a soft kiss on the forehead. "Of course my son. Just let me know if you need anything." she said.

"Thank you." I said with a smile.

Celestia released me from the hug and set me back down. I caught my balance before making my way past Celestia and exiting the kitchen before stopping and turning back to face her.

"I'm just going to go have a look around. Is that ok?" I asked.

"This is your home Solaris, and you are old enough to not need to ask to walk around." Celestia said as Luna giggled to herself. "But I will send a guard to find you when dinner is ready."

"Uh... ok. I guess I will see you later. Bye." I said before turning and walking away down the hallway.

I walked around inside of the castle for about an hour, making my way through the maze of corridors and looking at everything that was on display. But what annoyed me was, ever guard I passed either saluted me or bowed down in respect. Each that did, I told them to stop doing it, but they said that they were ordered to and they didn't want to get in trouble for not obeying orders.

I let out a sigh and made a mental note to have a talk with whoever made that order. I may have accepted my fate, but I was not going to stand for being held up like royalty.

So, trying my best to ignore the respect I didn't want but was been given anyway, I eventually made my way outside again, relishing in the warm sun as it shone on my cobalt blue coat that seemed to shine in the light.

I opened my wings and pushed off from the ground. I then flew forward at an easy pace, just enjoying the view of the city below.

'Its not all that bad. Who knows, there might just be some things worth discovering in this world.' I said to myself. I was going to miss everything I had lost, but I might as well try and enjoy myself in this world.

As I flew, I could not help but feel at ease. The wind sweeping under my wings gave me a sense of calm. I always liked flying, but for some reason, it felt... better, when using actual wings and not my Ki.

'Hmm, thats another thing. I am going to have to find out what this body is fully capable of, but not right now.' I said to myself. I was too busy enjoying myself being at peace for once to even think about training myself.

"Having fun?"

I was snapped out of my relaxed state when I heard the voice. I looked beside me and saw Day Star flying beside me, except, she was flying with her stomach to the sky and her forelegs folded behind her head. Another thing that caught my attention was that she wasn't wearing her armour.

"Yeah, I too love just going for a relaxing flight. It puts my mind at ease." she said as she brought a forehoof to her mouth an yawned.

"Yeah, it is nice up here. But what are you up here?" I asked.

"Well, I saw you take off and decided to see what was up. For once, you actually look moderately happy." she said.

"Well, for once, I'm not being hunted down by guards and I'm allowed to just go free for a while." I said as I closed my eyes and glided for a bit. "Speaking of which, why are you not in armour?" I asked.

"What, a mares not allowed a day off after the being threatened to have her neck snapped?" she asked in an offended tone. I felt my ears flatten against my head in shame as she said that.

"I-I'm sorry, but I was getting desperate. If it gives you any comfort, I wasn't actually going to do it. I would never be able to bring myself to kill an innocent." I said shamefully.

"I know. I was just jokeing. You were being hunted down like a guard would do to a high priority criminal even though you only wanted to be alone." she said. I looked up to her and saw that she was smileing. "But can I ask you something?"

"I guess."

"How did you do it? You were being pinned by at least 20 guards, and you just began to shake them off like it was nothing. I mean, where did you learn to fight?" she asked.

"At first, I taught myself how to fight, but when Earth fell under attack by a most powerful enemy, I needed help. So I studied under the Earth's best fighters and learnt all I could about their fighting styles and abilities. I had gained so much power that even I was beginning to fear it. But instead, I turned it on the enemy. Sadly though, I still failed." I said as my head dropped down in sadness.

"I'm sorry for that, but who knows, maybe it was for the better?" Day Star suggested.

"Yeah, maybe. But still, I can't help but hope that all those I left behind are ok." I said.

Day Star flew in front of me and blocked me. "Hey now. I'm sure that there ok. But we ponies have no way of telling for sure." she said before suddenly embracing me in a hug. "You have come home to a mother who loves you dearly. Even after you physically hurt her, she still fought to win you back." she said before letting me out of the hug and continuing to smile to me.

"I know Celestia loves me. She has proven it, but you still don't quite understand. I don't remember ever being a pony, only a saiyan. So when I pony claims to be my mother, I find it a little hard to believe. I still have doubts in my mind that this body is even mine, but I am hoping I will get over it." I said.

"Hey, I have another question. Reports say that you managed to use a spell to blind everypony before teleporting, but the reports also say that both of those actions was not magic. How did you do it then?" She asked.

"Oh, those are a few easy things I learnt that use Ki. Ki is another type of energy that anyone..."

"Anypony."

I rolled my eyes as Day Star corrected me.

"Sorry, Anypony then, can use. All you have to do is know how to train properly and have enough commitment."

'Wait a second I know where this normally leads.' I said to myself as a sense of fear came to me. I saw Day Star grin largely and I just knew what she was going to do.

"I don't suppose you could train me?"

"UGH! I had to say it didn't I!?!"
