Two Pink Pie's

by keam

Don't let your grandmother come to visit......

*Bang!*

“Pinkie! What in Equestria?” Applejack screamed.

She had been on her way over to Sugar Cub Corner for lunch when she ran in to her pink friend. Literally.

“Sorry Applejack, but I have to hurry to the station!” Pinkie Pie said.

“The station? Why?” The orange mare didn't know her friend was going out of town.

“To pick up Granny Pie of course! I'll be sure to introduce you two later!” And with that, the pink mare ran off.

Yes, right, Granny Pie... Pinkie Pie had been nagging about her visiting all week, And Mr and Mrs Cake too. Apparently she was good at baking and had given them many useful recepies. It would sure be fun to meet the famous Granny Pie. Applejack had sometimes wondered where Pinkie Pie got her pink coat colour from, since her family was grey, yellow, a little bit of blue and black.

Later that afternoon she would get the answer.

It was a hot Sunday afternoon and Applejack and her friends were standing at her family's stable at the market chatting, when they suddenly heard Pinkie's familiar voice say:

“Let me present to you, Granny Pie!”

And with that an old pink coated earth pony mare with a pale, blue mane walked up beside her.

“Granny, this is Twilight Sparkle, the mare I have been telling you about!” Pinkie Pie said, waving a hoof at Twilight.

“Nice to meet you Twilight. My granddaughter has been telling me so much about you.” The mare said.

Applejack noticed that she spoke with a typical Windy Lakes accent.

“Nice to meet you too, Mrs Pie. I have heard a lot about you” Twilight said and smiled.

The others started to introduce themselves. Granny Pie looked at each of them as they said their names. When it was Applejack's turn, a smile played across Granny Pie's face as she spotted the three red apples that covered Applejack's flank, but she chose not to say anything about it. Instead she said:

“You know, once upon a time I had a dear friend who lived here in Ponyville, but now it was many, many years since I saw her. I don't even know if she's still alive.”

“What was her name?” Pinkie Pie asked, curious as always.

“Her name was Grenadine Smith, dear Pinkie” Granny Pie answered her curious granddaughter.

“Granny Smith!” Applejack gasped and placed a hoof over her mouth.

“Oh, do you know her? Let me see, Applejack, right?” Granny Pie said, facing Applejack.

“Y-yes, mah name is Applejack and yes, Ah know her. She is mah Grandmother.” Applejack managed to answered, still somewhat choked.

“What a coincidence! My granddaughter is best friends with my old friend's granddaughter. Tell me, how is she doing now a days?” Granny Pie didn't seem surprised at all.

“She is doing just fine, Mrs Pie" Applejack said. "But if you'll excuse me, Ah have to go now, cuz ah don't know if ya know, but we're putting up a fair here. But Ah'll make sure to mention you. See you tomorrow girls!”

Later that day Applejack and her family where sitting at the dinner table at Sweet Apple Acres.

“So, Pinkie Pie's granny is visiting town” Applejack said, glancing at Granny Smith. “She is a pink mare with blue mane. Now we know where our Pinkie got her pink coat from.”

Granny Smith chewed on her apple with an uninterested look on her face.

“You know, she mentioned that she once had a dear friend who lived here in town...” Applejack continued.

Granny Smith suddenly stared at her and said:

“What did you say she was called?”

“ Amy Pie. It fits her cutiemark, an empty pie plate. And she said that her friend had been really good at baking pies” Applejack answered.

Now Granny Smith put down her apple and leaned forward.

“Did she tell you what her friend was called?” she asked suspiciously.

Apple Bloom and Big Mackintosh sat quiet. They were curious to see where this highly interesting conversation was going. One of the things that made it interesting was the fact that Granny Smith paid so much attention to what Applejack was saying. Normally, she didn't care much about anything that didn't directly involve the apple farm or the three grand children of hers.

“Yes, but Ah don't think Ah have to tell you that, cuz Ah think you know that already. Or am Ah wrong, Grenadine Smith?”

Applejack couldn't help smiling at the last sentence. Her Granny Smith, once called Grenadine Smith. It was hard to believe that the old earth pony mare on the other side of the table had ever been anything but her Granny Smith.

Applejack's mind was filled with memories of those old photos of Granny Smith when she was young, all showing the same light green mare with the yellow tresses. The only thing that told her that it actually was the same mare who now was sitting at the other side of the table was the light green coat and the pie that covered her flank.

“Yes, it does look like you have met an old friend of mine." Granny Smith answered slowly. "It was so many years since we saw each other, since she moved so far away. Ah didn't even know she was still alive, and even less that she was granny to a completely insane pony like your friend Pinkamena.”

Big Macintosh and Apple Bloom looked at each other, and then at their sister and granny and then back to each other. An old friend of Granny Smith's? And PINKIE PIE`S grandmother!?

The next day Granny Smith and Applejack walked into town. Applejack because she wanted to meet her friends and Granny Smith because she wanted to meet her old friend, Amy Pie.

When they came to the edge of the town square, they spotted two pink mares on the other side of the square outside Sugar Cube Corner. As she began to approach the two pink mares, Granny Smith said:

“Amy Pie, is it really you?"

The older of the two pink mares turned around.

“Grenadine Smith! It's been so long!” She exclaimed, hugging Granny Smith.

Tears sparkled in their eyes.

“So Pinkamena is your granddaughter?" Granny Smith said and wiped her eye with her hoof. "Ah must say, it surprised me a lot, Ah mean, Ah didn't think you were granny to such a, um, special pony...”

She suddenly remembered exactly how special Amy had been as a kid, and it made her smile to se Pinkie jumping up and down with a big grin on her face beside them.

“Yes, Pinkie is one of the four daughters to my oldest daughter, Cloudy," Amy said. "The other fillies are called Marble, Limestone and Maud. But you seem to have a wonderful grandchild of your own.”

“Three, actually." Granny Smith corrected. "Big Mackintosh, Apple Bloom and Applejack, who you've apparently already met.”

Applejack looked over to the two mares. Where had she seen Mrs Pie before? Then she suddenly remembered one of those photos of Granny Smith as young. In the picture there were three mares, one blue pegasus, a green earth pony and a pink earth pony. The names written under the picture were Amy, Grenadine and Thunder Belle. Granny Smith had said that both Thunder Bell and Amy later on moved away from Ponyville. Thunder Belle moved to Cloudsdale and Amy to Windy Lakes.

And didn't she also say that Amy later on married a stallion from Ponyville, who moved to Windy Lakes where she lived? What happened to Thunder Belle? Was she still alive and lived some where in Cloudsdale? Hmm, she could always ask Rainbow Dash if she knew anything about someone named Thunder Bell. Before Applejack could think of it any more, Mrs Pie and Granny Smith came by the stable and informed Applejack that they were going back to the farm to look at some old photo albums.

“Hi Applejack! What's up?”

Applejack was snapped out of her thoughts by the familiar voice of Apple Leaves, her aunt's brother's something (the family was far to big for her to remember exactly how she was related to everypony.)

“Hi, Apple Leaves! Well, Granny Smith has reunited with an old friend of hers.” Applejack said. " Her name is Amy Pie, and she is actually Pinkie's grandmother.”

“PINKIE PIE'S grandmother?!” Apple Leaves gasped before leanign in and whispering, suspiciously glancing at the bakery:

“Hope she isn't as crazy as Pinkie Pie!”

“No, she isn't. She is much calmer than that!” Applejack assured her.

“Puh, but Ah have to go and prepare for you-know-what. See you!” And with that the mare turned around and started walking away.

Tomorrow every body will know about Mrs Pie and Granny Smith, Applejack thought.
She knew this, since Apple Leaves was never late to share anything interesting that ponies told her about with her cousin, Apple Dumpling, who shared it with everypony else. They were the biggest gossip mongerers in all of Ponyville.

“Wow, what was that conversation about?" Rainbow Dash suddenly put her hooves around Applejack from behind and kissed her on the cheek.

“Rainbow! Do you know anybody named Thunder Belle?” Applejack said and turned around. “ Ah remembered an old photo Granny Smith showed me, and in it was she, Mrs Pie and some one named Thunder Belle, who apparently moved to Cloudsdale later on. Do you know her?”

“The name sounds familiar, but I can't remember where I have heard it before.” Rainbow Dash pondered. “By the way, how about I pick you up at the farm by six and then we have a bite to eat? There is also a dance in Town Hall.”

“Sounds great Rainbow! See you at six, and tell me if you remember anything about this Thunder Bell.” Applejack said.

“Sure, Babe!” Rainbow Dash nodded and kissed her on the cheek once more before flying of in to the air.

“Applejack is going on a date! Wait until mum hears this!” Applejack suddenly heard someone say.

She spun around just in time to see Apple Squash, one of Apple Leaves children, run off.

“Ponyfeathers, hasn't she taught them that it is impolite to eavesdrop on other ponies conversations? Now everyone is going to know that we're going on a date!” Applejack sighed.

Why did everyone have to make it such a big deal just because they where both mares? Was it like this Lyra and Bon Bon felt when they started dating?

Late that evening at Sweet Apple Acres, Rainbow Dash and Applejack were saying good bye under the stars. The moon was reflectd in Rainbows big eyes as they softly rubbed their mules together. From upstairs in the old farmhouse they heard Granny Smith sing an old lullaby.

“Isn't it beautiful? She used to sing it to me when Ah was a little filly.” Applejack said. "It´s called Hush now, quiet now. Did anyone sing to you when you were little?".

Rainbow Dash nodded. “ My granny used to sing a lullaby called “Dashie of mine”. I haven´t heard it in a long time...."

Nostalgia made her smile and also brought an extra shine to her eyes. Applejack sighed. It was a beautiful night, and Rainbow was a beautiful mare.

That night, Rainbow Dash dreamed of the lullaby she had heard as a child. In her dream, she was back in Cloudsdale. When she woke up, she got the feeling that the old song somehow had to be connected to this mysterious "Thunder Bell”.

After lunch the next day, Applejack and Rainbow Dash galopped together to the farm. It was a tradition that went all the way back to when Rainbow Dash first moved to Ponyville. The wind made Rainbows tail fly through the air in shining colours as she jumped over a bush, and Applejack speeded up beside her, panting and smiling in admiration. Her blue friend sure was lean and fast! She could hardly keep up with her, but when she fell behind Rainbow slowed down to wait for her.

When they entered the living room, they found Mrs Pie and Granny Smith looking through an old photo album. Rainbow Dash noticed a picture that had fallen out and picked it up. In the picture, there were three mares: one pegasus and the other two earth ponies.

Rainbow Dash gasped as she spotted the dark blue pegasus mare with the mane and tail that hung in long yellow curls cutimark; a rain cloud in the shape of a bell with a rainbow passing through it. Under the blue pegasus, the name Thunder Belle was written...
She turned around, throwing the photo away and leaving the farmhouse, flying as fast as she could.

Applejack found her self standing in the middle of the room, with the photo lying on the floor in front of her front hooves.

“Is everything alright, sugar cube?” Granny Smith asked.

Applejack picked up the picture and showed it to the two mares.

"She saw the picture, and then she panicked and ran away." .

“I remember when we took that picture” Mrs Pie said. “We were out on a picnic, me, your granny and Thunder Belle. It was the last photo we took together." She then turned to Granny Smith. "Have you had any contact with Thunder Belle after she moved?”

“No, Ah lost contact with her about a year after she moved, which is ironic, if you take a look at the distance between Ponnyville and Cloudsdale. So far but still so close...” she shook her head before continuing “But Ah do remember that day when we took the photo. It was back when you still spoke with a typical Ponyville accent, and not that fancy Windy Lakes accent you have now a days.”

“And it was the time when your hair still had a golden colour” Mrs Pie pointed out.

Applejack quickly excused herself to go looking for Rainbow Dash. Where could she be? Why had she left in such a hurry? Why had the old photo upset her so much? After three hours of searching all around town, Applejack finally found Rainbow Dash on a dark grey cloud in the park. The fur around her eyes was dark blue as the night sky. Applejack could see that she'd been crying. It made her heart ache, and she called softly to her friend. Slowly Rainbow came down from the cloud to stand in front of Applejack, head hanging.

“Why, Applejack? Why didn't she tell me?”

Applejack rubbed against her side. She would give anything to not see her friend so sad.

"A-Ah don't get it sugar cube. Try to explain from the beginning!”

“Everything was a lie!" Rainbow Dash shouted and stepped away. "She said she grew up in Cloudsdale! She said she got her cutimark in Cloudsdale!”

“Maybe there was a reason that she lied? Wait a minute, is this about this Thunder Belle?”

Rainbow Dash sighed. She moved closer to Applejack again.

“Yes. She is my granny, and I have always wanted to be like her! But I don't know who she is any more, I don't know who I am any more....”

Rainbow Dash started to cry again, tears dripping from her face down on the grass.

“It is alright, sugar cube. And you know what?” Applejack said, wrapping her front legs around Rainbow Dash. “Ah happen to know two mares who can tell you about her. Come on!”

They walked silently back to Sweet Apple Acres. When Applejack entered the livingroom, a red eyed and tired looking Rainbow Dash following close behind, Granny Smith immediately put away the photo album and motiened for them to sit down.

"Granny, Rainbow Dash have something important to tell you" Applejack said.

"Thunder Belle...she...she is my grandmother!" Rainbow Dash finally said.

"What?" Both of the mares said at the same time.

"It's true!" Applejack said "She just didn't recognise the name Thunder Belle."

"I didn't recognise the name because, much like Pinkie just call Mrs Pie "Granny Pie", or Applejack just call Granny Smith "Granny Smith", I've always know her as "Granny Belle"." Rainbow Dash explained.

"Now that you know, Ah would like to ask you somethign" Applejack said. "Well, you knew Thunder Belle back when she was living in Ponyville, so Ah thought maybe you could tell Rainbow a little about her Granny back then?"

And so they did. They told Rainbow Dash about the first time they met Thunder Belel, and how pretty all the colts thought she was. They told her about Thunder Belle's favorite subject in school, PE, and how she'd always caused truble during the Science lessons. They told Rainbow Dash everything they could remember about her Granny, that she liked apple cider and flying in the rain, that her favourite napping spot was on the top branch of an apple tree and so on.

When they were finished Rainbow Dash thanked them and said that she needed to go home and write a letter to a special person. They told her to get going, since they all knew who this special person was. It was Thunder Belle, her granny.

During three days, hardly anyone heard anything from Rainbow Dash, even if Applejack heard from Ditzy Doo that Rainbow Dash had been posting letters and gotten letters from Cloudsdale in responce. Sometimes it had it's benefits to be friends with the local mail mare. But Applejack was still worried. She got Cloud Kicker, Rain Drops and Blossomforth from the weather team to check her house every now and then. They found nothing. There were empty milk bottles outside her door, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Troubled, Applejack walked the streets of Ponyville. She missed Rainbow Dash more than she cared to tell anyone. Why could that proud, blue mare not share her worries? Why would she not let Applejack help her through this?

Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice call out to her from behind.

“Hi AJ! What's up?”

It was Rainbow Dash! She looked tired but happy. On her left side was an old, pale blue pegasus mare with a curly white mane and tail. On the mare's flank, there was a rain cloud in the shape of a bell with a rainbow passing through it. Applejack stared in surprise.

“My name is Thunder Belle” the old mare said. " I´m Rainbow´s grandmother. Are you Grenadine's granddaughter?”

"Hellooo there!" a shrill voice almost pierced their ear drums.

It was Pinkie Pie who suddenly appeared from nowhere before Applejack could answer. Applejack and Rainbow Dash jumped high up in the air. Even after knowing Pinkie Pie for so long, she could still catch them of guard.

“Hey, who are you? Are you new in town? Wanna become my best friend?” Pinkie Pie jumped in a circle around Thunder Belle.

The old pink mare remained perfectly calm and controlled, as if she was screamed in the face by pink mares on daily basis.

“Pinkie, this is my granny, Thunder Belle. She is visiting me for a couple of days, so please calm down” Rainbow Dash said.

“Okidokiloki!” Pinkie Pie said. "You know me: I´m always calm. My granny is visiting too. Don´t you just love grannie´s visiting? Mine is called Amy Pie."

“Amy is here? In Ponyville?”

The old mare looked like she wasn't believing her ears.

“Yes, she is stayin' for another three days” Applejack said. “If you want to, you can meet her. In fact, you can meet both Granny Smith and Amy Pie.”

"Oh, I would love that."

Half an hour later, they stood in front of the family barn on Sweet Apple Acres. Before they walked inside, Thunder Belle pointed out that it looked just like she remembered it.

When they came inside they found both Granny Smith and Mrs Pie sitting on the couch.
Hugs and happy gestures were exchanged and soon they were all sitting looking at old photos together.

Applejack went outside, where Rainbow Dash was waiting, ready to explain how she ended up here in Ponyville with her grandmother.

“So, what did she say that got you to forgive her in three days?” Applejack asked.

“Well, um, do you know what her special talent is that is represented by her cutiemark?”

“Nope, what is it?”

"It is her special move, like mine is the Sonic Rainboom. She flies really fast around a bunch of clouds and shapes them to a bell, and then she flies through them at high speed to create a rainbow. How that works, I'm not sure.”

“Um, okay, but what has this to do with the story?” Applejack started to feel a little annoyed, patience had never been her thing.

“Well she apparently got her cutimark here, in Ponyville, and ..... well, the reason she didn't tell me was that she didn't tell any body else” Rainbow Dash finally said.

Applejack was more confused now than she had been in the beginning.

“Because in Cloudsdale, it is seen as qualification to have grown up in Cloudsdale and to have gotten your cutimark there, and many jobs require that qualification. My grandmother was an orphan and was adopted by two pegasuses in Ponyville after her parents abandoned her as a newborn." Rainbow Dash started to explain.

Applejack was shocked. She had lost her parents at a young age, sure, but she couldn't imagine why someone would abandon their own child!

"When she moved to Cloudsdale" Rainbow Dash continued. "She learned that it was hard to get a job if you weren't born in Cloudsdale, and especially if you were a mare who didn't have any talents that were considered “out of the ordinary”. So she lied. She built up a new life and left everything from her old life in Ponyville behind.”

“Was it what she said?” Applejack suspiciously asked. She didn't buy it.

“Yes” Rainbow Dash simply said.

Applejack had a feeling that Rainbow Dash's granny hadn't been honest with her this time either, so she looked in some of Granny Smith's old photo albums, hoping that they would help her find the answers she was looking for. But it soon turned out they didn't. All she found was an old newspaper article and a picture about when Thunder Belle preformed that special trick of hers, the Cloud Belle rainbow, as Rainbow Dash call it, but nothing more.

The albums were filled with photos of Amy Pie, Granny Smith and Thunder Belle, together or alone, but nothing that would make Thunder Belle lie all her life about her background.

Applejack was ready to give up and go to bed when she noticed that one page was stuck to the inside of the album cover.

It took Applejack a while to get it free without hurting it. When she finally succeeded, there was a big surprise waiting for her.
On the first page there was a single photo that showed Granny Smith standing in the middle of the picture and on her left side was Thunder Belle and.... she was kissing the blushing Granny Smith on the cheek!?

But that wasn't everything. Under the picture it said:

“To my beloved Grenadine from T.B” and a little heart was drawn after “T.B”

Wait, had Granny Smith been dating Thunder Bell? And now Applejack was dating Rainbow Dash! This was starting to get out of hoof, and Applejack felt that she really needed to talk to Rainbow Dash tomorrow. For every question Applejack tried to answer, it only seemed to be one more to answer instead.

“What!?”

Rainbow Dash was spitting hayshake all over the table.

“Yes, it is true, Ah mean, it was mah Granny on the picture and who else would this T.B be?” Applejack said.

“Yes, b-but, my granny dating your granny?!" Rainbow Dash shock her head in disbelief.

“We don't know if they were dating, but by the look of it, they had feelings for each other” Applejack said, using a napkin to clean up the table that now was drenched in Rainbow Dash's hayshake.

The glares from the ponies at the tables close to them were curious, making Applejack more uncomftable than she already was.

“Then there is only one thing to do!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

“What are you thinking, R.D?” Applejack said, finishing cleaning the table.

“We have to ask them of course, Applejack." Rainbow Dash answered mater of factly.

“Are you crazy!?”

Now it was Applejack's turn to spit hayshake over the table and making people stare openly at them.

“What? How else are we supposed to find answers?” Rainbow Dash said, apparently ignoring all the ponies arouned them.

“Have you even met mah granny? Either she will get really mad at us, and believe me, Ah've learned the tough way that a mad Granny Smith is the last thing we want, or she will tell us far more than we want to hear!”

Rainbow Dash wondered what Applejack could have done the time she “learned the tough way” that a mad Granny Smith was a bad thing, but chose to ask another time. Instead she said:

“Okay, maybe you're right, but what if we ask my granny instead? She will probably tell us. She is, like, in a “I am sorry I lied to you Dashie” mood whenever I am around right now, even though I forgave her , like, two days ago” Rainbow Dash suggested.

“Okay, but first we need to clean up the table. There is a lot hayshake on it”

Two hours later they were at Rainbow Dash's house, or more exactly, on a blanket under Rainbow Dash's house, since Applejack was an earth pony. They had found Thunder Bell in town with Amy Pie and said that they wanted to ask her something.

“So, what do you and your friend want to talk about, Dashie?” Thunder Belle asked, the extra pressure she put on the word "friend" making Applejack blush slightly.

Applejack took out the album from one of her green saddlebags and showed the first page to Thunder Bell.

“Were you and Granny Smith dating?” Applejack asked.

The old mare blushed when she saw the photo and took a long time before answering the question.

“Ehm, yes, your granny and I were dating for a short while before I moved.I still remember when we took that photo... your granny was certainly not expecting me to kiss her on the cheek, and how she blushed! You could think that I suddenly had asked for her hoof in marriage, not given her a simple kiss on the cheek! But it died with the distance I fear... she found a stallion, and I did the same” Thunder Belle suddenly seemed so very old and tired.

Two hours later, Applejack entered the farm house. Big Macintosh was at Cheerilee's and Apple Bloom was out with the CMC. In the living room was Granny Smith waiting for her, and when Applejack entered she said:

“So, Thunder Belle told you about us?”

“Yes, in fact she did granny, but only after Ah had shown her this picture.”

Applejack opened her saddle bags and showed Granny Smith the picture on the first page in the album.

“Let me tell you a story, Applejack.” Granny Smith softly said after seeing the picture and patted the seat next to her on the couch.
“Ones upon a time, there were three mares, one belonged to the sky and two to the earth. They were the best of friends, but one day, two of them started developing feelings for each other. The third one was okay with this, because she had found a mare of her own."

"They never told any body, because what would they think?" Granny Smith continued. " Mares who loved mares, ridiculous ! The years went, and two of three moved away. They all fell in love with three different stallions and got married, got children and forgot almost everything. Except their friendship."

“It was you, wasn't it?” Applejack said. “You were in love with R.D's grandmother, and Pinkie Pie's grandmother was dating another mare!”

“Yes, it was like that, but we were young and curious and back then it was socially unaccepted, which made us more curious about it” Granny Smith said. “And as Ah said, the love, if you even can call it that, it was more like a summer flirt, died long ago. Ah mean, Ah married your grandfather and loved him to the end!”

Granny Smith quickly closed her mouth and her eyes were filled with sadness as she realized what she just said. It reminded her of Applejack's grandfather, Braeburn, who Applejack's cousin Braeburn was named after.

The thing was that Applejack's grandfather had died not long before her cousin Braeburn was born. Still today, so long after his death, Big Macintosh and Applejack tried to avoid talking about him, because it was best for Granny Smith not be reminded so much.

“Who was the mare Pinkie's granny was dating?” Applejack softly said, trying to change the topic.

“Ah don't know, some fancy unicorn from Canterlot, Ah think, Ah never really cared much about her."

The next day, they all gathered at the train station: Granny Smith, Thunder Bell, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie. They wawed to Granny Pie as she left on the train.

Afterwards, when they walked in to town, Rainbow Dash dragged Applejack aside and said:

“I hope she never returns. If she only knew how awkward things became when she was here!”

“What was it that became awkward?”

Pinkie Pie suddenly appeared from nowhere. Applejack and Rainbow Dash shared a nervous glance. How were they supposed to explain this?

Two hours of explanations, laughter and a couple of cupcakes later in Mr and Mrs Cakes tent at the town fair, Applejack and Rainbow Dash had finally finished their story. Mr and Mrs Cake as well as Pinkie Pie were just staring at them while their brains tried to take in all the unbelievable information the just heard.

“Oh my, what a crazy week you two had. Who knew an old mare could cause so much trouble visiting her grandchild?” Mrs Cake said and started to clean the table.

“Yes, Ah don't know if Ah ever dare to be in town while Mrs Pie is visiting again!” Applejack said, Rainbow Dash nodding her head in agreement.

At the same time at Sweet Apple Acres, Granny Smith and Thunder Belle were sitting and talking. Granny Smith had a photo album pulled open in her lap and said:

“ Ah sure am happy they never found out who the mare Amy dated was. They would probably have panicked!”

“Yes, it is for the best that they never found out about it” Thunder Belle agreed, looking down at the photo album.

The picture she looked at showed two mares. One was an earth pony with pink coat and blue mane and tail. The other one was a purple coated unicorn with a white mane and tail with streaks of light purple in it. The two mares were sleeping side by side on the grass under a big tree. The purple unicorn was resting her head on a book with Advanced Magic written on the back. Under the picture, somepony had written Amy and Twilight Glow, forever together.
