//------------------------------// // Book 1: On Present Troubles Part 2 // Story: On the Origins of Equestria // by Bearycool //------------------------------// Now it was bright in the Land of Light, For the Land knew the Six were to come And commune together with one another And herald so the new dawn of light. Now they came together when the message Was received by the mare called Twilight, Who was ordered by the queen to Go out to Ponyville, that village which Plays the key role of many things to come. Yet she did not go willingly in stride; In her own words of this dissent, she said: “Why me? Oh Celestia, why me? Why must I go away from my studies And meet others that I know nothing of? What is the meaning of this misadventure which will bring nothing but woe to me....” She of velvet flank fell into dispair As she rode on a chariot to ponyville, that place where her fate would lie in wait. With her was her scribe, a small baby dragon Who was deemed by Twilight as spike. As they rode the chariot, spike said to her: “Fear not, Twilight! the Princess has her reasons I am sure of this, oh yes I am sure! She just wishes you to make some friends And also prepare the festival to come!” And it was so, that she would meet these “friends” the friends who were recalled to life once more. When Twilight came to the village, she found herself Bewildered by its many sights and sounds. Just then, one of the Six came to her and smiled broadly in a rather crazy look of awe and many other such things. This first mare’s flank was that of pink galore So it can be surmised that it was Pink Pie. Twilight tried to speak to her and say hi but in a quick snap she gasped and trotted off in a very fast pace of pink lighting. This was twilight’s first encounter with the Five. Next, she went out to the farms on the borders for she was told to check the banquet which was to be made for the festival to come. On that farm, she met the second of the six. Her flank was a golden tint and her name was Applejack, who was one of the six. She came to Twilight and said to her: “Why howdy, my friend; oh yes my friend! Why dont’cha come right along for brunch and meet all the others in this here town!” Twilight tired to refuse this offer with respect but failed to do so, and because of this she accepted the invitation with a sigh. This was Twilight’s second encounter with the five. After this minor event, Twilight went out to check the clouds, which were to be cleared out for that festival which was to come. She was to seek out a mare called Rainbow Dash who was to clear the clouds with her power wings. Then out of nowhere she came crashing down on Twilight and took her with great surprise. They fell into a pile of mud where Rainbow Dash laughed up a storm on Twilight. When she realized what she caused, she tried to fix it in some way that would help her. In continue torrents of laughter, she said: “Man, I am truly sorry what I just did there; here, let me help you clean yourself!” And so she did by means of fluff of clouds to wash the purple mare right up and then caused a torrent to dry her off. This was Twilight’s third encounter with the five. Twilight was treated by the fourth, who was named Rarity, to dress up galore for the fourth was a one for fashion and could not help herself when she saw Twilight. This was Twilights fourth encounter with the five. On the fifth encounter, not much can be stated, for the fifth was named Fluttershy and when she saw Twilight, she said nary a word to her, for she was shy. After these many things, the hour of the Festival had finally arrived. Many ponies flocked towards the middle of town where the regal queen of day would be to bring about the day from the night. Twilight was there with the five to witness the opening of the day, yet Twilight’s mind was preoccupied with moon for she knew the mare in the moon would return and wreak havoc upon the land once again. Then, just as the queen began her magic, the prophecy of a thousand years occured in but a blink of an eye and heartbeat. It was nightmare moon, standing before the assembly with radiant twinkles of night. … Now the origins of this moment should be given its own though and accord, so let us go to the beginning of the matter which happened a thousand years prior.
