Charming Thunder walked through the halls of a deserted corridor. He stopped hearing footsteps from a group approaching. He quickly hid in a nearby doorway and drew out his pistol as he watched a group of droids escorting his friends. He then moved to a corner as the group moved on. Once he was about to follow them, a super battle droid popped out of the corner and started to fire at him. He took cover and when it stopped firing, he popped out and shot it. He then moved forward to the hallway where his friends were being taken. Twilight turned and saw him heading their way. The commando droid drew out its sword and jumped to attack him but Charming Thunder dodged and shot it in the head. "Charming! Don't! It's a trap!" she shouted before she could finish her warning as she was pulled through the doorway by a battle droid and disappeared from sight. He then raced after her and galloped in an anteroom. They were nowhere to be seen. As he entered the room, the door behind him slammed down. The platform he was standing on then rose up, leading him to another room. The darkness of the room was deathly quiet.
The lights of the room then turned on as he heard a sinister voice saying, "The magic is with you, Charming Thunder." Charming Thunder turned and saw the dark king himself waiting at the top of the stairs. "But you are not strong enough to face me." He then walked up the stairs to go face to face with Sombra. He then grabbed one of his lightsabers and ignited it. King Sombra did the same and ignited a purple blade. Charming Thunder was the first to attack but Sombra blocked the blow. The swords of the two combatants clashed as they fought.

Fancypants, Fleur, and the battle droids marched onward, surrounding Twilight and the group. As they reached an intersection, they ran into a group of Fancypants' guards. They pointed their rifles at the droids as they surrounded them. "Hey," one of the droids said. "Whats the big idea." The guards then disarmed the droids and handed a rifle to Fancypants, another to Fleur, and another to Twilight and her friends.
"Well done," Fancypants said to a guard. "Hold them in the security tower and deactivate them, and keep it quiet. Move." The guards then began to march the droids away from the group.
"What are you doing?" Rarity asked.
"We're getting out of here," Fleur replied.
"I knew it all along," Fluttershy said. "It had to be a mistake."
"Do you think that after what you did to me we're going to trust you?" Rainbow said.
"I had no choice," he replied. "Now if you all can just calm down and just follow me to your ship."
"Right," Twilight said. "Come on. We need to get out of here before the droids figure out that we escaped." The group nodded in agreement and galloped their way to their ship. Along the way, a group of battle droids spotted them and started to fire their blasters at them. The group did the same as they moved into an elevator.

King Sombra and Charming Thunder stood locked in combat on the platform overlooking the chamber. The platform swayed as their swords clashed. Charming Thunder drove Sombra back aggressively forcing him to use defensive tactics. "You have learned much, young one," King Sombra said as he backed down the stairs.
"Don't worry," Charming Thunder replied. "You'll find that I am full of surprises." Sombra made a quick move, hooking Charming Thunder's lightsaber out of her hoof and sending it flying. Another lightning move at his feet forced him to jump back. He lost balance and rolled down the stairs to the circular freezing platform. He rolled away just in time to see Sombra descend toward him like a giant black bird. He kept his gaze locked on the dark king.
"Your destiny lies with me, Thunder," Sombra said as he circled the fallen colt. "Luna knew this to be true."
"No!" Charming Thunder shouted as the hydraulic elevator opened noiselessly behind her. He then got to his hooves and moved cautiously back from the dark king. Sombra took a swing of his sword which forced Charming Thunder to leap backwards, falling right into the opening. As the freezing steam rose from the pit, Sombra turned and deactivated his lightsaber.
"All too easy," he murmured. "Perhaps you are not as strong as Chrysalis thought." Through the steam, Sombra saw a red blur rise upward. He turned to see Charming Thunder, who leaped in the air and dangle from a few hoses. "Impressive..." he mused. "Most impressive." Charming Thunder jumped down and blasted him with magic. He then levitated his lightsaber and activated it in hiss hoof and was instantly lighted. King Sombra light his sword as well. "Celestia has taught you well. You have controlled your fear...now release your anger." Charming Thunder, realizing he had been foolhardy before, assumed a defensive stance. A quick sword exchange, and he pressed Sombra back. "Only your hatred can destroy me." Charming Thunder then leapt in the air turning a somersault over Sombra. When he landed, he slashed at him as the room began to fill with steam. As King Sombra backed up from Charming Thunder's strikes, he dropped behind the platform and into the outer rim of pipes. Charming Thunder moved to the edge of the platform and deactivated his lightsaber and hooked it to his belt and jumped down to the pit.
