"Has anyone seen my hat anywhere?" said Applejack, slightly confused as to where it would be.
"Nnnope," responded Big Macintosh
"Darn it! Oh well, I have to get these apples bucked before sundown... The only thing the hat can wait for."
***Back at Pinkie Pie's place***
"Hmm, I still can't decide whether or not I want to pack this super adventurous hat or not... But I do need to pack other things," she said to herself as she glanced around the room. "I wasn't talking to myself, thank you very much!" Well, then... Uh... Who were you talking to..? "You! Of course, I mean, there's no one else around, silly!" - Oh... Of... Course... You were talking to me... Who else... Haha... Ha...ha. Well... Anyway... I think you should pack some candy treats, there, Pinkie... But not all sweet treats... You need to have something nutritious, don't you think? "Yea, I guess you're right, I'll get some apples from Applejack after I've finished packing." Pinkie began to hum merrily, however, no one was sure if she was humming to herself or to the Na... Uh... Me...
***At Fluttershy's cottage***
Fluttershy was humming softly to herself as she looked around her cottage. "Oh, what to pack, this is going to be such an interesting day, the entire day with Pinkie, I'm sure it's going to be lots of fun! *squee*" Fluttershy said to herself as she packed her saddle bags. The familiar tapping of Angel's impatient foot began to echo across the room. "Oh, hello, Angel, I'm going to be away for the day. Oh, please, please don't be mad." The tapping grew much louder. "I'll fluff your tail 5 times next week." The tapping stopped. Angel jumped into Fluttershy's mane and snuggled close, finally pleased. "Hehe, I knew you'd like that. Now, I'm going to tell the others, then I'm going to continue packing," Fluttershy said softly to Angel as she kept packing.
Once she had told the other critters, she went back to packing her saddle bags. "Oh, what to pack, I need to pack some healthy food, I don't think Pinkie will pack anything too nutritious." She giggled to herself. "I think I might pack some carrots and some lettuce leaves, oh and some tomatoes!"
***Meanwhile at Pinkie's***
"Adventurous hat... Or not adventurous hat... Hm......."
***Back at Fluttershy's cottage***
"Okay! I'm all packed and ready to go!.. Now I have to wait for Pinkie," Fluttershy said to herself. "Actually, where is she? She should've been here ages ago... Knowing how hyper she is, at least... I hope nothing went wrong," said Fluttershy in a worried tone. "I'm probably just being paranoid..." Fluttershy admitted to herself.
***Back at Pinkie's house***
"Ok! So I have my adventurous hat on, and now to go to finish packing, but the only thing I have left to pack is some apples!" said Pinkie as she hopped on over to Applejacks. "AJ~!" Pinkie Pie shouted as she was coming down the road to Applejack's.
"What? Pinkie is here?" Applejack was confused but went out to see her. However, when she saw her, she wasn't at all impressed.
"AJ, is it ok if I--"
"Pinkie, what on earth are you doin' with my hat?!" Applejack said as she cut Pinkie off.
"Oooooh, this is your hat... Sorry, AJ," Pinkie replied.
Applejack sighed and took back her hat. "What are ye' here for, Pinkie?"
"Well, I was hoping to get some apples!"
"Well, I guess that's not a problem. Here, have these freshly bucked not longer than a minute ago, heheh, now, go on, head off now, I still got a lo-o-o-ot of work to do!" Applejack responded.
"Thanks AJ!" Pinkie responded as she hopped on over to Fluttershy's cottage, merrily humming. "Oh, boy, I'm so excited to go on this adventure with Fluttershy!" Pinkie said with glee. As Fluttershy had been waiting for a while she started to get a bit more worried, until she saw Pinkie Pie hopping over the hills. "Hello Fluttershy!" she yelled as she kept bobbing her way toward her front door.
"Oh, hello, Pinkie, I was getting worried that you were taking so long, but you're here now, so it's fine."
"Are you excited as I am for this adventure!? I am, I'm really, really excited. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Spending an entire day adventuring with one of my bestest friends! It's going to be so great, don't you think so as well, Fluttershy?"
"Oh, well, I guess it will be exciting, especially if it's with you, Pinkie," Fluttershy replied.
"I KNOW, RIGHT?!" exclaimed Pinkie Pie. "I guess it's time to get going now, so let's go!"
"Hang on, I want to know what you packed for the adventure!" Fluttershy said, more excited than usual
"Oh, okay! Well let's see, I packed cotton candy, cupcakes, lollies, apples, AND my adventurous hat!" Pinkie Pie said as she pointed to her head.
"Um... Pinkie... You're not wearing a hat at the moment." Fluttershy responded, slightly confused
Pinkie gasped. "OH, NO!! WHERE DID IT GO?! THIS IS A CATASTROPHE, IF I CAN'T FIND THE HAT, HOW CAN WE GO ON THIS ADVENTUROUS ADVENTURE TOGETHER?!" she exclaimed in absolute horror.
"Well, we can always buy you an adventurous hat. I mean, we don't need to go right now," Fluttershy reassured to Pinkie
"Okay, then! Let's go to the town and buy me a hat!" Pinkie said, relieved.
"Then after that, let's go on this adventure!" Fluttershy said, with excitement.
"Yeah!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.
As they got into the town Pinkie saw just the hat she wanted and ran straight for it. It was in a shop and the price tag said 5 bits. Pinkie Pie galloped straight over to the stand, threw 5 bits to the shop owner, took the hat, the galloped straight back to Fluttershy. "Ok! Let's go!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"Where's the first part of our adventure going to be?" Fluttershy asked.
"Right there!" Pinkie exclaimed as she pointed to the entrance of the Everfree forest. Fluttershy's eyes grew much bigger.
"Oh... Um... I don't know, Pinkie... It's really scary in there..." Fluttershy said, now with a bit of fear and regret in her voice.
"Have no fear my friend, I'm here to save the day with my adventurous hat and adventurous spirit. Let us be off!" she said in a loud, proud voice as she galloped into the Everfree forest. "Wait for me!" Fluttershy said as she followed Pinkie Pie.
