The two mares made their way through the shrapnel filled corridor, when GLaDOs fulfilled her promise and began to talk.
"Do you know the biggest lesson I learned from what you did? I discovered I had a sort of black box quick save feature in the event of a catastrophic failure. The last two minutes of my life are preserved for analysis. I was able-well, forced really, to relive you killing me again and again forever." said GLaDOS without a hint of anger in her artificial voice. Dash shook her head.
"Lady, clearly you have problems. But we DIDN'T kill you!" Rainbow Dash protested. Pinkie Pie nodded.
"Yeah! I'm pretty sure we would remember purging a robot dinosaur demon!" said Pinkie. GLaDOS ignored them.
"You know, if you've done that to somepony else, they might devote their existence to exacting revenge. Luckily, I'm a bigger person than that. I'm happy to leave this all behind us and get back to work. After all, we've got a lot to do and only 60 more years to do it. More or less. I don't the actuarial tables in front of me." and with that, GLaDOS went silent. Pinkie Pie began to tremble.
"Um...what did she mean by that, exactly?' Pinkie stuttered. Rainbow wrapped a hoof around Pinkie's shoulder.
"I think...I think she's counting down the years to our death." said Rainbow Dash. Pinkie whimpered. Dash pulled her closer and glared up into the sky, as if she were face to face with GLaDOS.
"But don't worry, we're getting out of here. I don't plan to spend the rest of my days as a lab rat." Dash spat at the ground angrily and lead Pinkie through the two portals she created while GLaDOS had been talking. As they walked down a corridor, a screen flickered on, signalling testing was about to continue. They found a pile of shrapnel blocking the way. Dash groaned.
"Oh COME ON!!! How are we supposed to get through THAT?!" said the confuzzled pegasus.
"I'll just put that out of the way for you." said GlaDOS. "This place really is a wreck. But the important thing is you are back. With me. Now I want all of your little tricks."
"But we don't have any tricks!" said Pinkie. Once again, GLaDOS ignored the mares.
"Because there is nothing to stop us from testing. For the rest of your life. After that, I might take up a hobby. Reanimating the dead, maybe." said GLaDOs. Pinkie laughed nervously.
"Oh, um, great! Good to have a hobby, heh heh...hooray for necromancy." said Pinkie. Rainbow Dash froze. What if they DID spend the rest of their life as lab rats? What if they spent the rest of the afterlife as lab rats?
