“Are you sure this is the right thing to do?” A colt asked looking at another in a lab coat.
“We must do this. All of equestria must forget this war ever happened. It is for the best.” The pony in a lab coat said and walked over to a switch preparing to flip it.
“And what of this one? We caught her sneaking in.” The colt said motioning over to a pink pony who's flank brandished balloons and a horn on her head who lay unconscious.
“If her magic is strong enough to get past our barriers, her magic is powerful indeed and will be immune to this. We must remove her horn.” The colt in the lab coat said.
“Y-you can't be serious?! To remove a unicorn's horn is like striping apart of who they are!” The colt replied shocked.
“If we want to reset equestria to the state it was before this war happened...we must ensure all ponies can not remember what happened.” The colt in the lab coat replied approaching the unconscious mare.
The colt in the lab coat then proceeded to walk to a cabinet,took out a oddly shaped device and placed it on the filly's horn. “I'm sorry. But this must be done.” The colt in the lab coat said as he pressed the button on the oddly shaped device.
The mare's eyes shot open as the device activated and let out a ear piercing pained scream as the device glowed brightly.
At this exact moment pinkie pie shot up from a dead sleep and immediately put her hooves on her head to feel around. Once again she woke up with beads of sweat running down her face and breathing heavily.
“Pinkie pie, are you okay?” Twilight's asked causing her to turn and see Twilight sitting next to her. “ I saw you tossing and turning in your sleep. Did you have a bad dream?” Twilight asked in a concerned tone.
“You could say that....” Pinkie replied standing up.
“Oh, I just noticed. You're hair isn't all frizzy and puffy like it usually is. It looks nice like that.” Twilight replied remarked with a smile.
Pinkie Pie then began to stretch and her hair suddenly poofed out to it's normal frizzy and poofy appearance.
“Oh wow. How do you always manage to do that? It is some sort of magic?” Twilight asked curiously.
“What? My hair? It's done that every since I saw Rainbow Dash's rainboom!” Pinkie pie replied and began to hop around.
“I don't get how y'all can be so cheery right now Pinkie... right now we are up to our necks in deep horse manure.” Applejack said in a sleepy tone as she began to wake up.
“That's always been how Pinkie Pie has been. You of all ponies should know this full well Applejack.” Rainbow dash spoke up as she began to wake up herself.
“Y'all be best keepin your trap shut about my past ya hear?” Applejack replied in an annoyed tone.
“Oh lay off. In a town full of mostly fillies it's not so surprising you know.” Rainbow Dash replied with a smirk.
Twilight was absolutely clueless as to why Applejack was getting all huffy and why rainbow Dash was getting such a kick out of this.
“I said keep y'all trap shut, ya hear?!” Applejack said getting pissed off now as she locked heads with Rainbow Dash shoving her head forward.
“And I said there's nothing wrong with it!” Rainbow Dash retorted shoving back.
“Would you two keep it down! Somepony is trying to sleep here!” Fluttershy's voice erupted from nowhere sounding nothing like her usual quiet tone and more like how she sounded at the Grand Galloping gala causing everypony to look at her in shock including Rarity who's head shot up looking slack-jawed. “I mean....if you don't mind...” She said after a moment resuming her whispering tone.
This chain of events completely shoved the subject of Pinkie Pie's dream from Twilight's head until everyone quieted down.
“Pinkie. Are these dreams you've been having been what's causing you to not be your usual cheery self?” Twilight asked curiously which caused Pinkie to stop hopping around.
“I guess so...” Pinkie Pie replied in a depressed tone.
“Well, maybe we can talk about them?” Twilight replied with a smile.
“I'd rather not....” Pinkie replied backing away a bit.
“Alright. Whenever you're ready. You can talk to me anytime.” Twilight replied then turned to everypony who appeared to be awake now.
“So this is where you are. I had hoped I would not have to search far.” Came a voice that sounded familiar to the ponies.
“Zecora? How did you find us?” Twilight asked curiously.
“How I found you is not the issue at the moment. Nightmare Moon is going to bring a world of torment. You ponies must not only harness the elements of harmony this time to save this world you want to protect. You must also embrace the attributes which you neglect.” Zecora replied.
“What the heck is that supposed to mean?” Rainbow dash replied looking confused.
“What in tarnation do you mean by that?” Applejack chimed in just as confused.
“Applejack, you must learn to accept who you are. If you do not do this, you will not make it far.” Zecora said looking at Applejack then turned to Rainbow Dash.
“Rainbow Dash, You must learn to swallow your pride. Otherwise you will watch you friends die when they needed you at their side.” Zecora said and turned to Fluttershy.
“Fluttershy, you must learn to be confident in your own abilities. Otherwise you're friends will suffer from your disability.” Zecora said and turned to Pinkie Pie.
“Pinkie Pie, you must trust in what your dreams tell you. They will be the key to unlocking the power deep within you and give you're friends an edge against Nightmare Moon too.” Zecora said and then turned to Twilight.
“Twilight Sparkle, Your past is something you must learn. It's the one thing that you know your heart yearns. You must also master the darkness within your heart. Otherwise it will tear your friendship apart!” Zecora said to twilight and took a deep breath.
“The message that I was asked to deliver has been complete. I will take my leave now and leave it in the hooves of Equestria's elite.” Zecora said finally and walked away.
“Zecora, wait! What does all that mean?!” Twilight asked desperately.
“I thought we only had to harness the elements of harmony and kick Nightmare Moon's butt back to the moon?” Rainbow Dash asked after a few moments of silence.
“Maybe....the legend isn't so true after all.” Twilight replied thinking to herself what Zecora said. “That may be what we were lacking last time. Why we weren't able to defeat Nightmare Moon completely.” Twilight said turning to look at the others.
“Wait...i thought what we did was what was supposed to happen?” Rainbow Dash said still looking confused.
“What the hay does she expect us to do? Kick her flank to death?” Applejack said after a few moments looking frustrated.
“I don't know....maybe?” Twilight said after a few moments earning gasps from the other ponies.
“Twi....that's goin abit far don't y'all think?” Applejack replied in a concerned tone.
“How would you know?! You couldn't know!” Twilight snapped at Applejack.
“We all miss Spike too...but that's no reason for y'all to become what she is.” Applejack replied apprehensively.
“Nightmare Moon took my best friend....no...he was more like a brother to me.” Twilight said trailing off closing her eyes as a tear shed from her left eye then moments later snapped open glowing with a dark aura. “I will never forgive her! She took him away from me! I will make it as if she never existed when i'm done with her!” Twilight screamed her voice seemingly booming with each word she spoke as she began to float up and become surrounded in a dark magic.
“Wow....and I thought I lost it when I couldn't get those animals to like me at the gala....” Fluttershy said in a quivering voice backing away.
“Holy shi-” “Yes this is bad Rainbow. We can see this!” Rarity chimed in cutting Rainbow Dash off as she tried to think of something to say to calm Twilight down.
“Whoa nelly! She's going to hang her own reigns if she keeps this up!” Applejack said looking as the magic began to surge,sputter, and fire off mini-charges in random directions.
“Wait, what?” Rainbow Dash asked confused by what Applejack said.
“I mean she's gonna blow her Apple orchards!” Applejack replied.
“Speak English!” Rainbow Dash retorted annoyed.
“Oh for the love of....hayseed!” Applejack said slamming a hove on her face in annoyance. “She's gonna blow her own rainboom and not in a good way if she keeps this up!” Applejack said after a few moments.
“Oh! Why didn't you say so?!” Rainbow Dash replied and then gasped. “Oh Fu-” “Rainbow Dash I swear to Celestia If you don't stop swearing I will stuff your mouth with an apple tree!” Rarity shouted cutting off Rainbow Dash yet again in a panicked tone trying to think.
“Twilight! Please calm down!” Applejack shouted and then sighed “We know Y'all loved spike like a brother! We can't be pretendin to know what Y'all is goin through right now!” Applejack shouted to Twilight hoping she was getting through to her. “But if Y'all don't calm down. We're gonna lose y'all! We're you're family too Twilight! We're all your sisters and we love y'all very much.” Applejack shouted out at which point Twilight looked at Applejack.
The dark magic around Twilight slowly began to fade as she slowly floated back to the ground. The moment Twilight's hooves touched the ground Applejack rushed over to her and gave her a loving hug at which point Twilight's eyes returned to normal as her friend hugged her and she began to sob loudly.
“It's okay Twilight...let it all out.” Applejack said softly as Twilight continued to sob into her friends shoulder.
“Wow...Twilight completely lost it there.” Rainbow Dash blurted out earning dirty looks from everypony except for Twilight and Applejack.
“What?! You all were thinking it too!” Rainbow Dash retorted to their looks.
“What concerns me the most is why Twilight has begun to lose control of her magic at random times.” Rarity said putting a hove on her chin looking as if she was in deep thought.
Meanwhile in Canterlot moments before Twilight's loss of control of her magic Nightmare Moon was sitting in Princess Celestia's throne with a malicious smile on her face. “Oh my dear sister, you were such a fool...to think you could make me forget such a past that could never be forgotten.” Nightmare moon said aloud and began to laugh evilly until she suddenly felt a wave of dark magic.
“This magic.....could it be?” Nightmare moon thought to herself.
“You're Highness. We are ready to send out the squad.” A solider colt said snapping Nightmare Moon out her thoughts.
“Good...seize and capture them.” Nightmare moon replied.
“But I thought you wanted them to be eliminated?” The solider colt replied.
“You dare to question me?!” Nightmare Moon's voice boomed as she struck him with a bolt of magic.
The solider colt stood up wearily and bowed “ A-As you wish....” The solider colt replied and limped out of the throne room.
Meanwhile back to just outside of Ponyville Twilight had finally stopped crying.
“Sorry guys...i guess I really lost it.” Twilight said after a few moments.
“That's okay Twilight! Even though you went all darky evil and all we still love ya!” Pinkie Pie replied with a smile.
“Darky evil?” Twilight replied with a confused look.
“You mean...you don't remember?” Rarity asked with a inquiring look.
“No...the last thing I remember is shouting at Applejack about having lost spike and thinking of him as a brother. Then I just broke down crying in Applejack's arms.” Twilight replied earning concerned looks from everypony.
“What? Did I do something bad?” Twilight asked with a worried look.
“Well...you see Twi....you sort of-” “You went completely evil looking, you eyes glowed darkly, and you got surrounded by this creepy dark magic that went spoot,spatter, and boom! I mean I was totally freaked out but then Applejack shouted some sense into ya about us being a family and such and then you floated to the ground and went bwaaaa!” Pinkie Pie pipped up cutting off Applejack.
“Thank you Pinkie Pie for using such a tactful usage of words.....” Rarity remarked with an annoyed glare.
“Holy crap! I did that?!” Twilight blurted out after looking shocked at everything Pinkie Pie said.
“Well....i reckon y'all looked mighty scary for a few moments there, but I calmed y'all down. That's what family is for right?” Applejack's said with a smile.
Twilight couldn't help but smile at this and then let out a sigh. “Maybe this is what Zecora meant by the darkness in my heart?” Twilight said after a few moments.
“Possibly, but I reckon we think about it later.” Applejack replied looking up at the sky.
“Why?” Twilight replied with a confused look.
“oh!oh! I know! It's that wave of dark armored Pegasus ponies right?!” Pinkie pie blurted out hoping up and down.
At this everypony looked up and saw the force of dark armored ponies flying strait for them.
“Oh...this won't end well...” Twilight remarked with her flattened.
