Ch.6 A Road Trip to remember

"We should have a name" Hell Hound said after a couple hours of silent walking.

"Name? Why would we need a name?" Uriah asked as they continued walking.

"You know, for this little team we have"

"There are only two of us, so it's a duo, not a team" Uriah corrected sternly.

"You can't possibly believe we are the only ones of our... Kind I guess would be the right word" Hell Hound said with a puzzled expression.

"If there are more like us then I pray to Celestia that they aren't evil" Uriah joked.

"Hey I'm serious! There have to be more like us out there" Hell Hound said as he dramatically waved his arms around to emphasize his point.

"Even if there are more of us and they would be willing to join us. Then I'm going to repeat myself and ask, why would we need a name?" Uriah dead panned.

"Because it's a way to instill fear in our enemies. What do you think of... The Pack?" Hell Hound asked excitedly.

"Just because we can turn into canine like forms doesn't mean others can" Uriah said.

"Ah! Why do you always have to be such a joy kill!?" Hell Hound yelled in frustration.

"I left Bolt at the castle for his own safety, plus, I get cranky if I don't know how he's doing" Uriah said with a playful grin.

"Whatever" Hell Hound dead panned. "What do you say we speed this up a bit?"

"I'd love to" Uriah said as he turned into the Cyberdog and ran of.

"Hey no fair!" Hell Hound yelled as he turned into the flaming wolf and (literally) blasted of after Uriah. He quickly catches up with Uriah since he had trained a lot on his speed.

"You aren't fair you're much faster that me!" Uriah said as Hell Hound ran past him.

And so they ran, and ran, and ran, they ran for a full week only pausing to eat a snack and then they moved on, at the end of the week they had arrived in the north, and there was absolutely nothing there.

"What the hell!?" Hell Hound said as he seemingly bumped into something after hours of just walking around in their human forms.

"What's up?" Uriah asked.

"I don't know... There seems to be a force field right here" Hell said as he tapped at the invisible field. Small ripples, not unlike those in water, spread out from where he touched the field.

"Looks strong... Stand back" Uriah said as he switched places with Hell hound. He then pulled back his right fist, which started glowing silver, and punched the force field. The field itself turned an ominous black before it shattered like glass, there was now a small opening in the shield, barely big enough for the two of the to walk through. Hell Hound, being only six feet, walked through it with ease. Uriah though, could not.

"Guess it's the price you pay for being eight feet tall" Uriah said with a frown as he ducked through the gateway.

"... What the hell?" He said again when he got to the other side, on the inside of the shield was grass, but not the usual, happy, green grass. No, this grass was really dark green, almost evilly so.

But that which lay behind the dark field, was the thing that amazed Uriah and Hell Hound.

After about a mile of grass a black, crystal looking tower could be seen, surrounded by a small village.

"Come on, this ought a be the Crystal Empire" Hell Hound said as he walked down the grass field, Uriah wasn't following though, he just had a look of shock on his face.

"Uriah? What's going on? Are you alright?" Hell tried to ask.

"Oh... It... It's nothing" Uriah said absently as he walked in the direction of the crystal tower.

"You aren't scared are you?" Hell teased.

"The meaning of the word scared don't stand in my dictionary" Uriah replied smugly.

"Yeah right" Hell said as he walked on as well.

After about a half hour of silent walking they arrived at the village, which appeared to be cut out of crystal, they where walking through what looked like Main Street.

"Hmm, Tia wasn't kidding when she said the Crystal empire, it really seems to be cut out one massive crystal" Hell said after releasing a drawn out whistle.

"I'm impressed that this looks like a ghost town, seriously nobody has come to see us or anything" Uriah said with a bored expression.

"It's probably nothing, what's the worst that could happen?" Hell asked.

Just then a cloud of black smoke seemed to seep out of the crystal tower and collected itself at a balcony, about one-hundred feet up. The cloud then dissipated revealing a man, about six feet tall, his skin was paler then a corpse, and he had purple smoke seeping out if his solid green eyes with crimson irises. He had black hair and his right hand looked like a claw and was seemingly a red rock. He wore a fancy red cloak with white and black fur at the edges. Under that a full black tuxedo was visible.

"Who dares enter my empire!" The man boomed in a deep voice.

"You're king Sombra I presume?" Uriah asked. "Cause if you are we're here to put an end to your rain of terror!"

"Such words coming from a weakling like you" Sombra said as he jumped down. "You two should make some decent opponents"

"Decent? We, my friend, are going to kick your ass" Hell Hound smack talked.

At that, Sombra released a dark chuckle. "You have so much left to learn" He said whilst showing the best fake smile he had, also revealing that he had fangs. "But I, am here to teach you" he continued before he threw of his cape (which went up on black smoke) and charged at Hell.

While there was a good two-hundred foot between them, Sombra crosse it in a matter of seconds before he released a devastating punch to Hell Hound's abdomen. Throwing him back a good hundred feet as he tumbled over the ground.

After the initial surprise was over Uriah grabbed his highly modified, 50 caliber, twin revolvers out of the holsters on both his hips and strafed around Sombra unleashing a hail of bullets straight into his back causing him to stumble forward a little bit before he turned into a cloud of black smoke and flew behind Uriah where he materialized again and kicked Uriah in the back, sending him flying a good seventy-five feet.

"Damn, this guy I stronger than I expected" Hell Hound said as he walked to where Uriah landed, who was just getting up.

"Most definitely... You keep him busy, I'll summon a couple of skeletons okay?" Uriah asked as purple smoke began seeping from his eyes.

"Sure" Hell said as he burst into bright red flames as he turned into the fire-wolf, he dropped down on all fours and charged at Sombra, but instead of hitting him Hell began running circles around him. "Time to see if all those years of training will pay of" He said again as he increased his speed and after a couple of seconds broke the sound barrier with a massive bang, throwing Sombra through the air as he was only trying to hit Hell Hound with various beams of pure dark magic, horribly failing at it.

"Did I miss anything?" Uriah asked as he was followed by three skeletons with bow and arrows.

"Bows and arrows? Seriously?" Hell asked.

"There was nothing else in the ground" Uriah said shrugging.

"You fools! Do you really think you can beat me!" Sombra yelled as he teleported in front of Uriah and punched straight through his rib cage, his right hand reappearing as it burst out of Uriah's back. Making him cough up blood as the skeletons faded into nothingness. "Pathetic, is this truly the best those two princesses have to offer" Sombra smack talked as he pulled his hand out of Uriah's chest, making Uriah fall to his knees, and eventually, face first on the ground. Lying in a rapidly forming pool of his own blood. Live slowly leaving his eyes.

"Uriah no!" Hell said as he tried to rush towards Uriah's body but he was stopped as Sombra shot a bolt of dark magic at him.

"Pathetic, I can't believe those two stupid princesses sent two outcasts to-" before Sombra could finish that sentence a piller of light burst from the clouds and hit Uriah's body.

"What the hell?" Hell Hound said in surprise.

"King Sombra of the Crystal Empire" a disembodied calm but stern voice said from the direction. "For committing crimes against mankind, Faust has decided to banish you from this plane of existence!" The voice said again as the pillar of light shattered, revealing Uriah's body floating there, his eyes glowing a bright radioactive green as wings made of pure light appeared on his back. He then raised his right hand, it then began glowing white, soon after a massive beam of pure white shot out of hit and hit Sombra head on.

"Rrraaagh!!!" Sombra could be heard screaming as the shadow of his body could be seen fading from existence in the beam of light.

After that the glow disseappered from Uriah's eyes and the wings shattered, dropping him to the ground.

"Uriah are you alright!?" All Hell got was a grunt as Uriah rolled himself over, now lying on his back he opened his eyes, which seemed to be glowing a little.

"I'm fine Hell, don't worry"

"Doing worry! Don't worry! Dude you were just killed and resurrected all within the span of a minute!" The red haired flyer yelled as he comically waved his arms around. "How did that happen anyways, the resurrection, I mean" he asked again with a puzzled look on his face.

"I don't know" That was a lie, Uriah did know, but he had to sort it out before he could tell him.

"Meh, whatever, let's just get back home shall we?" Hell asked.

"Okay" Uriah replied as he and Hell stood up stood up. When they stood up fully the ground started shaking.

"What was that?" Hell asked, another tremor hit as the Crystal Empire started fading away.

"What's happening!?" Hell asked/yelled.

A split second after that Uriah's right eye flashed green. "The Empire is disappearing, Sombra put a curse on it that's doing this, come on, let's go" Uriah said strangely calmly before he put his right hand on Hell's shoulder and they teleported away in a silver flash.
