A Simple Repair
Part 9: Serith

I was on that train for a few hours I couldn't sleep my thoughts were still clouded thinking about how the fight went. "God damn fool." I whispered thinking of how my brother acted during the fight. I looked down to Rainbow she was sleeping soundly. I was jealous of her sleep. She stirred nuzzling into my shoulder.
"Sleep now my dear Dashie. My battle is over now." I smiled looking down at her hand still wrapped around mine. I sighed looking out the window I saw something flying when I looked again it was gone. I shook my head looking away. Rainbow stirred again looking up at me.
"Frost is something wrong?" She asked confused about my reactions. "Frost?" She asked I shook my head lightly I smiled to her gently.
"Not a single problem in the world now that he is gone." I had a fake smile something was bothering me but I couldn't place my finger on it. I returned my gaze out to the window noticing my reflection I watched it carefully. It changed into something unspeakable I flinched.
"Ok Frost now I know something is wrong tell me what it is." Rainbow demanded but this was not something that concerned her.
"Even I have to have my secrets this is one of them that I can tell no one." I sighed watching the trees in the distance.

We had arrived to Ponyville to a warm reception but it was not meant for me only for Rainbow. I made my escape back to the outskirts of town to my home near the cliff. I looked at the new graffiti on my home. "Monster." "Leave us alone." "Just die." I felt sadness for the hatred people had towards me for a crime I didn't commit. I entered my home pulling Serena off of my belt I stared at her frowning.
"A blade worthy to be called a death dealer." I set the blade next to my decrepit A.W.G. "It's good to see the siblings have been reunited." Smiling I decided to get to work on my repairs. So much has happened in these last few days I am sad to see it all over. "My life will return to normal back to my work and back to the hatred people have for me." I sighed sitting in my chair. I leaned back trying to relax but all I felt was sadness looking down I felt the tears streaming down my face. "Look at me. Pathetic." I raised my hand letting the tears fall into my palm. "I can't even be happy with my revenge I am only sad for what I have done to my brother." I continued to cry for what felt like hours.
I heard a knock at the door which made me jump I tried to dry my tears to no avail. "Yes come in." I chocked out facing towards my wall of spare A.W.G. sets I heard the door open and close then foot steps.
"If you're trying to hide going home isn't the smartest of places." The voice said I glanced over my shoulder to see Twilight.
"Can I help you Twilight I don't think you would have an A.W.G." I tried to play everything off as if it didn't happen.
"Why weren't you at the party?" She asked crossing her arms. I tried to ignore the question by scanning over the parts on my wall. "Frost?" I continued to ignore her I didn't want to answer questions right now I just wanted to work. "Major Frostwing." She said with authority I slammed my fist into the wall Making a few of the parts to fall off the wall.
"Don't..." I was shaking not out of anger but sadness. "I'm not the man I used to be. so stop calling me that." I broke down "I can't go back to what I used to be my brother wants my head on a pike and no matter where I go people will only remember me for the death of my entire team." I was crying so much it hurt. "If you don't mind I just want to be alone right now." I just wanted to cry in peace. The door opened and closed without another word. I sat there in the darkness of my home crying until the tears stopped flowing.

I awoke the next morning groggy as hell and feeling all around bad. "Stupid sadness ruining my concentration." I picked up one of my old projects I was working on months ago I began to tinker with it when I heard a knock at the door. "Enter." I said pulling down my welding mask so whoever it was wouldn't see my face.
"I have a message from her highness Princess Celestia." A royal courier entered my shop handing me a scroll. I quickly unwrapped it reading the message until I saw a single sentence. My heart seemed to stop and start back up. "Sir are you alright?" The courier asked concerned.
"Yea I think I just had a heart attack but I'm alright tell the Princess I accept." I rolled up the scroll setting it inside my work bench. He bowed and left taking off into the sky. I stood walking over to my old military A.W.G. I strapped it on carefully the amplifier stones pulsed from black to an ice blue.
"This is a special day Serith so I will take you out to stretch." I said smiling walking out the door I noticed Rainbow flying around. "I will ask her out today no regrets." I clenched my fists taking off into the sky towards her an Ice blue streak followed me as I flew. Rainbow noticed me but must have not recognized the stream She began to fly away. "RAINBOW DASH!" I yelled flying up next to her. She smiled seeing that it was me and began to slow I went into a hover next to her.
"Hey Frost where did you get the antique?" She asked with that same cocky attitude. I sighed.
"Rainbow this is Serith my military A.W.G. and my greatest comrade." I placed my hand on one of the amplifiers they shifted from ice blue to a light pink.
"Did your amplifiers just change color?" Rainbow asked observing them carefully.
"Yes they did it's the rarest amplifiers you can find." I smiled. "Each set is carved from a rare stone called an aurora crystal. when they are placed in an A.W.G. they begin to adapt a personality and a 'voice'." I smiled moving my hand away from the amplifier. "Place your hand on the stone and listen with your heart not your ears." I said looking at her with a gentle smile.
Rainbow extended her hand placing it upon the amplifier she closed her eyes listening when a tiny female voice spoke to her. "Hello Rainbow Dash my name is Serith it is a pleasure to meet you." The voice sounded cheery. Rainbow pulled away startled.
"Serith I take it you were being polite to Rainbow." I smiled watching the stone surge pink. I chuckled happily.
"So Serith is a girl." Rainbow said placing her hand back upon the stone.
"That's just the personality she chose but she respects me very much and has saved my life many times." I placed my hand on top of Rainbow's. "And it seems she likes you." I smiled to her gently she looked at me blushing lightly. "Rainbow I have a question for you." I rubbed the back of my head nervously. "Would you like to go get dinner with me tonight and not have to worry about being attacked by a crazy sibling." I was so nervous I blurted out the last part. I felt a hand upside my head I looked up to only get hugged by Rainbow.
"Of course you idiot." She let me go taking off to towards Ponyville I stood there dumbfounded I smiled happily taking off higher into the sky when I knew I was out of ear shot I took a large gasp of air.
"SHE SAID YES!" I yelled at the top of my lungs before corkscrewing towards the ground. "I finally get that second date what should I wear?" I asked myself gliding towards my home.
