//------------------------------// // New pony in Ponyville *EDITED* // Story: New pony in Ponyville // by The Metallic Dash //------------------------------// I finally made it. Ponyville, a nice place according to some of my friends in Cloudsdale. It took me such a long time to fly here because of all my luggage was weighing me down somewhat. I decided to move to Ponyville for some peace. I landed, and being that I knew nothing of the place, I asked the nearest pony I could; a gray coated pegasus mare with a blonde mane with seven bubbles as her cutie mark. “Hi there, My name is Thunder Roller, I’m new here and I was wondering if you know where I can find and buy a house here?” I asked. I was a pegasus, as is probably obvious, from Cloudsdale with a brown coat and a black mane, my cutie mark a game controller. It was getting late and I needed a place stay for the night or get a house to stay. The blonde pegasus looked over towards me and smiled. “Yeah,” said the gray-coated blonde-maned pegasus with . “You’re gonna want to go to Town Hall, it’s down the street and to the left.” Though I have met many ponies on the move from Cloudsdale to Ponyville, this one mare seemed unique. And not because she has a wall-eyed stare. “Thanks,” I said. “Wait, did you say that you are new here?” she asked. “Yes, I did,” I replied. “ Well,” said the blonde pegasus. “Let me be the first to say welcome to Ponyville. I’m Derpy Hooves by the way, but my friends call me Derpy. So where are you moving from?” she asked. “How did you know I was moving?” I asked. I was kind of surprised that Derpy knew I moved here recently. Derpy then pointed her hoof at the four bags of luggage behind me, and I knew it was obvious from there. “Oh right,” I said, rubbing the back of my head with my right fore hoof. “Well I’m moving here from Cloudsdale.” I then added. “Cloudsdale is cool but it’s too noisy,” she said. Something must have kicked in my mind then because I remembered something; I needed to find somewhere to stay and sleep. “Hey Derpy?” I asked. “Do you know where a hotel is or something close to that? I’m kind of tired from flying all day and it’s getting late.” She looked at me and then my luggage and said, “Yeah, just grab your stuff and follow me.” I grabbed my luggage and started walking with Derpy to somewhere. After a few minutes of walking, we came to stop at a house. It was a quaint little home, with a door that had a muffin-shaped window on it. “Whose place is this?” I asked, wondering why we stopped. “This is my house,” she said. She then added, “You can stay here for the night.” Thanking her for letting me stay, I walked in with my things and set them next to a couch. “So, where do I sleep?” I asked. She pointed to another couch in the living room. “I’ll get you a few blankets and a pillow,” she said as she walked upstairs. “One blanket will be enough I’m sure,” I said. “It gets pretty cold here in Ponyville sometimes,” she replied. “So just take these blankets in case you get cold.” I then thought, ‘she’s got a point there.’ I took the blankets and the pillow and laid them down on the couch. She went back upstairs. And by the way she’s walking on the hardwood floor upstairs, she sounds like she’s ready to hit the hay as well. I got into the makeshift bed and began drifting off to sleep. I woke up to the smell of good food. I thought to myself, ‘What’s that delicious smell?’ I get up with a yawn and and my wings start flapping towards the smell, leaving my muzzle sniffing in the air. When I got to the kitchen I saw Derpy baking something. “What are you making Derpy?” I asked. “I’m making muffin-flavored muffins,” She replied. I stared at her with a confused look. “But don’t muffins taste like muffins already?” I asked. “That’s not what I meant,” she replied. “Come here and look.” I walked over to where the oven is and inside was something that made me even more confused. There were little tiny muffins ON the muffin itself. “How did you-” I stopped myself because I think it’s more complicated to put it into words. “Here, try one,” She says as she hands me a muffin and I take a bite of it. “Mmmmmmmm,” I said aloud. “This is good, Derpy.” I finished the muffin and grabbed my stuff and began to head out to find a house. I then stopped and said, “Thanks letting me stay here Derpy. See you around.” I said. “You’re welcome,” she replied. “And good luck, friend.” ‘Wow,’ I thought. She called me her friend and I barely knew her. With that I headed to Town Hall with a smile on my face. Town Hall was a biggest building in town I'm guessing. When I got there I was greeted by a blue earth pony. This pony was wearing a vest with a name tag that read ‘Crystal’ on it. “Hi there! Is there anything I can help you with today, sir?” she asked. “Yes, I need to buy a house because I just moved here and I need a place to live.” As I say that she begins to look through some files and then says to me, “Ah yes I have three houses for sale right now.” She turned back to a file cabinet and pulled out a map and marked three spots on the map. “Here are the houses that are for sale. Go check them out then come back when you have found the house you want,” She said. “Thank you very much I will be back later today then.” I said as I left the Town Hall and began my trek through town. I reached the first house. It’s near the middle of town and I think that it’s a pretty good house. I thought about buying this house but I still had two houses to look at. So, I headed to the next house. This house looked like a river house on the edge of the Everfree Forest. From what I have heard since I got here a day ago, the Everfree Forest is a dark and mysterious place filled with evil creatures. I also heard, however, that a friendly zebra lives there. I don’t want to live in river house anyway because it’s on the edge of town so this house is a no. And the other house is IN the forest so I wasn’t even going to bother with that house. It was still mid-day so I went to a restaurant to eat. After I was done eating I went back to Town Hall to get the house. Crystal sees me walk in. “Welcome back, did you find a house you like?” I checked back at the map she gave and then said, “Yes, I want the one that is near the middle of town.” “Alright,” she replied. “That will be 1,250 bits.” I checked my saddlebags and found the bits, but I also found that was all the money I had, which meant that I would have to find work to buy a bed. I sighed then gave the bits to the receptionist. She put the bits in a safe, then went into a backroom, then appeared minutes later she came out with a key. “Here is the key to the house. Have a great day!” she then said as I walked out of the Town Hall and look around and decided that since it’ll be few hours until it gets dark, I would go take a walk around town. As it began to get dark I headed to my new house. It was a two story house, so I might have somepony rent the bottom floor to help with rent since I don’t have any money. As I laid down for the night I began to think of what to do to get a job. But sleep took over and so I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
