//------------------------------// // 1: Fluttershy // Story: The Shipping Show // by TheOtherSideOfFluttershy //------------------------------// Cloudchaser position herself so she could lean against the wall. She didn't know about Flitter, but whenever she talked, or gossiped, about other ponies, she liked to look chill. It was the first day on the job, and probably the most nervous she would ever be. To calm her nerves, she decided to concentrate on something that made her happy. And that was her strange obsession with sunglasses. So there she sat, sunglasses on, grinning to herself. Then Vinyl told them they were on. Cloudchaser began. "Hello ponies, glad you could tune in to the show. It's the first day on the job, and the first day this show will be aired. Pressure's on, right Flitter?" "Yeah. First impressions are everything. You should ask Rarity. Cloudchaser, would you mind explaining the point of this show?" "Sure, whatever. It's my job." Flitter shot her sister a dirty look. "This show is kind of the gossip show. It's totally not based off of something some other ponies did. Or fillies. The show is, well, to ship ponies together." "Here's how it kind of works. We pull a name out of a basket, after talking about our own stuff for a little while there. Whoever gets their name pulled out, we talk about who we would ship them with, and why. And other stuff. Whatever Cloud can come up with." "Very funny. At least my stuff is entertaining, not educational." "Some ponies want education. Besides, we're not here to argue. We are here to kick start our radio show." "Doesn't this show has a name?" "No. Pull a card." Cloudchaser, rolling her eyes, pulled out a card. "The lucky, or unlucky, pony of the day is..." Cloudchaser paused, reading the name. She showed the name to Flitter, who winced. Do it anyway, she mouthed. "Um, okay. The pony is Fluttershy. Fluttershy, if you are listening, know that we do not mean any harm to you. And stop listening." "I actually have some ponies for her." "Oh, I know you do. You talk about it all the time. It's only slightly creepy." "At least I'm not obsessed with sunglasses. If I had to match her up with a stallion, my big one would be Big Mac. They would look so cute together!" "Agreeable, though I thought Big Mac was with Cheerlie." "That was a prank on the CMCs, remember? Besides, it is your turn to ship." "Fine. It would really depend on what species we were talking about. I mean, you have to considered Discord. Those two are the best of pals. I would find it quite hard to be best pals with a male without having feelings for each other." "True point. I mean, considering that one accident back in high school, with your best friend." "Oh dear. Don't remind me." "Oh, I'm reminding you alright. You were madly in love with that one pony, and he was too. Of course, then he told you about that one thing, and you haven't gone near him for ten years!" "She keeps it anonymous because I would have stuffed her with storm clouds if she revealed who it was. Anyway, I wonder if Discord is listening." "I hope not. If the rumors around town are true, that is one thing I do not want to cross. I can't imagine what he would do with us." "I see mints in our future. Do you think that he can't fall in love? Think about it, he was able to be so cruel to those ponies for so long. He just now is reformed." "It might be a while before he actually does fall in love with a pony. Probably a hundred years." "Speaking on Big Mac, if they do have feelings for each other, which one would speak up first?" "Oh Celestia, you're making this hard, Cloudchaser. The most I can get out of him is 'eeyep'. Fluttershy, the poor mare can hardly say her name to a stranger. I would go with Big Mac. At least he can say stuff clearly." "True, true. I agree. On that note, our show is coming to a close." "Come again next week, same time, to hear more with me, Flitter, and my sister, Cloudchaser! Goodnight folks!" Fluttershy wished she had of just turned off the radio. But no, she had to listen to the two pegasi. Now she felt as if she would explode with the truth. Just like anypony, Fluttershy had a crush. A big one, one she had since the day she saw him. Fluttershy shook on the ground, her head debating her next action. Angel, her loyal bunny, stood next to her. After years of being with Fluttershy, Angel had learned to take gossiping about her VERY seriously. Fluttershy looked up to the bunny. "Oh, Angel. What am I going to do?" Angel blinked at her. He wasn't very helpful with tips about dealing with this kind of humiliation. Animal attraction was very different and much more easier. Angel shrugged. Fluttershy dragged herself up. She sighed. "The pegasi were right. I do have a crush on him." Angel bounced around her, chattering something she could understand. "Tell him my feelings? Oh, I can't do that." Angel kept chattering away, trying to convince his owner otherwise. Fluttershy listened, a smile slowly growing on her face. "You're right Angel! If I don't do it now, I may never know!" She hugged her bunny lightly before gently flying out the door. She flew down the pathway to Ponyville. It was four in the afternoon, and ponies were out in about. Some of them had obviously been listening to the show, for the eyed Fluttershy as she passed by. She was flying with a determined face, which brought questions to everypony. Even Twilight, who was going to comfort her friend, was confused. Fluttershy didn't stop in the town, but continued on to the apple farm. She didn't stop until she ran into Applejack. "W-where's your brother?" Applejack blinked, then pointed to the eastern field. Fluttershy was once again off like a bullet. Big Mac had just finished listening to the radio show when Fluttershy came. She was going so fast she whipped right into him. Fluttershy got to her hooves quickly, embarrassed. "Oh, I'm sorry." Big Mac got to his hooves and looked at the embarrassed yellow pegasus. She was staring at the ground. After a few moments of silence, she finally spoke again. "Uh, Big Mac, I was going to let you know, um, after that show, I-I began thinking, and, um, I-I" Fluttershy whispered something inaudible. Big Mac blinked. "Please repeat." Fluttershy nodded, but she was still inaudible. Big Mac shook his head. Fluttershy took a deep before speaking again. "I have a crush on you!" Fluttershy winced behind her mane, her face red as a tomato. Big Mac smiled. "Fluttershy, if you do not mind, I think I would also have something to say. I may think that you are a beautiful mare and it would be my pleasure to ask you out." Fluttershy looked up. "Really? That would be amazing!" Big Mac leaned over and kissed Fluttershy on the forehead. This time, it was a happy ending.
