//------------------------------// // Double The Snuggles (Are awful) // Story: Help! I'm being snuggled!! // by Billblok //------------------------------// "'Morning Twilight," Spike said. Twilight mumbled back in reply. That was the traditional morning greeting the Sparkle household shared; at least, whenever Twilight had chose to stay up all night, which was quite frequently. Spike gently prodded the tired alicorn. When she finally lifted her head in annoyance, a wonderfully bitter liquid trickled down her throat, which she drank eagerly. Now alert and aware, Twilight expressed her gratitude. "Thanks for the coffee, Spike!" she chirped, licking her chops. "I don't say it enough; but really, what would I do without you?" "Get a baby dragon, I bet." Twilight giggled, rubbing Spike's head. Then he brought up the matter at hand. "So, any reason for the change in bedding?" Twilight glanced at the dark blankets. "Oh this? Yeah, this is apparently a gift for... putting up with them." "Really? From whom?" Twilight fidgeted. "A former enemy." "Enemy? Do you mean 'enemy', as in 'horrible pony who wants to destroy Equestria', or 'enemy', as in 'pony who holds a grudge against you because of some misunderstanding'?" "Uhh, the former." Spike quirked an eyebrow. "So... what do you mean by 'former enemy?' I don't think an enemy could just reform overnight... could they?" She shook her head. "Of course not, at least not fully. But she still wasn't an enemy anymore." "How could you tell, anyway?" Twilight shivered. "Because Spike, if Nightmare Moon had hated my guts, she wouldn't have cuddled with me all night." Spike was shocked. "You're telling me that Nightmare Moon cuddled you?" "Yes, Spike; she cuddled me." "In your own bed?" "Yes." "Wings and everything?" "Yes!" "With no hope for escape?" "Yes, Spike; whatever you think she would do, she did!!" "...So she kissed you too?" Twilight's right eye twitched. "I-- I don't know-- Maybe? P-probably not though; she said I was just a friend... You've been reading too much fanfiction, haven't you? That stuff will ruin you." Spike blushed cherry red. "f-forget I said anything... How'd it feel being cuddled by her?" Twilight sighed, eyes gazing off into the distance. "It felt like silk against my face, gently caressing my own fur as she idly ran a hoof across my back in slow circles. As her breathing became soft, Her body warmed me up, making me feel comfortable and safe within the embrace of another pony who promised no harm would ever come to me..." Spike stood in silence, trying to read into the purple pony. "...You hated it, didn't you?" She shivered. "Absolutely; I didn't like it a single bit." A great voice shouted from above her: "THEN PERHAPS, PRINCESS TWILIGHT SPARKLE, THOU WOULDST PREFER OUR AFFECTIONS?" Twilight and Spike yelped, cramming their hooves/hands in their ears. "Luna, how long have you been here?!" Luna gracefully fluttered from her position in the window to the floor in front of the bed. "WE HATH BEEN DWELLING BY YOUR BEDSIDE SINCE--" "Inside voice?! Please?!" Twilight shouted over Luna. (Which was an incredible feat in and of itself, for one does not simply shout over the Royal Canterlot Voice.) Luna blushed. "I-- Apologies, Princess Twilight; I just get started, and I can't stop... Anyway, I was here since sunrise." Twilight groaned. "What would ever make you do that...?" She smiled gently. "Must I always have a reason to go here or there?" "When you're a princess, yes." Luna waved a hoof. "Very well, so I didn't tell anypony where I was going at some point; what does it matter? But enough chit-chat. If you don't mind..." With her magic, Princess Luna lifted the purple alicorn and dragon. "...today you two will be in my care. Neither of you appear to have slept well--" Twilight wiggled in Luna's magic, frustrated. "But Spike slept fine--what're you doing?!" "Oh he did? Well I'm sure he wouldn't mind the close contact anyway. Let us partake in the act of cuddles!!" Luna jubilantly shouted as she whisked the two into Twilight's newly acquired blanket, wrapping them up nice and tight. Twilight yelped as she was pulled into an embrace with the dark blue alicorn, rather aggressively mashed face first into her breastplate. "Luna please! I've had enough snuggling for the last twenty four hours!!" Luna laughed. "At ease, my fellow princess! The mistress of the night has had hundreds of years of experience bringing affection to ponies! Come, let me show you!" She wrapped her hooves around the two very tightly. Twilight and spike were starting to have trouble breathing. --- "So that's what happened," Twilight said to her shy pegasus friend. "And it's kinda why I couldn't make it to our spa session this week." "Oh, I'm so sorry," Fluttershy offered up in apology. "But now I know it wasn't your fault in the first place. So, um... are you okay now?" "It only took thirty seconds before she noticed we were asphyxiating. Minor brain damage from such aside, I believe I'm fine." "'Twas our fault, Twilight," Luna said, gently nuzzling the wrapped up alicorn. "Had we known that your poor frame could not take our hearty bear hugs, we would not have embraced you so tightly." "It's okay." Twilight returned the nuzzle. "So would you let spike and I go now? It's been four hours." Luna shook her head. "Absolutely not; we intend to stay with you for the rest of the day so that you may have your proper rest." Twilight groaned. "Fluttershy, this is going to be a while. You may leave if you want, you know." Fluttershy smiled. "It's fine, I'd prefer to stay with my friend for now." "Great," Spike complained. "Why don't we play the 'how many ponies can fit on one bed' game, huh?" "Now now Spike," Luna chided. "Truly, this is far better than sorting out the books, isn't it?" "Yeah..." "Then pray tell, why are you complaining?" He pondered it for a time. "Oh I don't know, something about anxiety because of confinement; but I'm no psychologist." He sighed, fidgeting in his blanket trap. "Ah well, I'll take everything in stride; I mean it's not like Twilight can teleport us out, is it?" Twilight's eyes lit up. "Oh wow, why didn't I think of that before?" With a sparkle of her horn, Twilight disappeared in a flash of light, reappearing on the other side of the room. Spike however was still wrapped up in the blanket. "Why Twilight, are you planning on escaping?" "Without me...?" Spike whimpered. With a pained look, Twilight glanced back at the baby dragon as she was heading down the stairs. "Yes; Sorry Spike! I swear I'll make it up to you!" As fast as her legs could carry her, Twilight sprinted down the stairs, and the door to the library opened and slammed. Luna blinked, disappointed. "Alas... Twilight refused my affections..." "And she left me at home again..." Spike mumbled. "Could this get any worse...?" "Princess?" Fluttershy asked. "I'd like to let you know... If you want me to go find her, I could... Would you like me to?" Luna, gazing back at the yellow pegasus, smiled. "Why that would be wonderful! I have another to watch over after all." Fluttershy hopped off the bed and down the stairs. Spike was filled with a feeling of dread for the pony that left him behind. That's not good at all... I know I wanted something bad to happen to you, but not this. You may think you can run, but there's no escape from her! Run, you magnificent purple pony princess; fly far away!
