Chapter 2
Fluttershy woke up to a gentle snoring. She wasn't sure how though because it was so quiet. Assuming it was one of her animal friends she let it go. She looked out the window and was shocked to see it was night time already. She felt like she had just gone to sleep. Fluttershy heard a deep grumbling noise. She looked around for the source and was embarrassed to when she realized it was her stomach. She got up out of her warm spot on the couch and went to the kitchen. What she saw nearly made her faint.
There laying on the counter was a small breezie. She had a green coat and pink mane. Tucked behind her ear was a small blue jay feather. The little breezie was laying in a jumbled heap on the counter. Fluttershy knew she was just sleeping by the rise and fall of her little chest.
"Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!" Fluttershy exclaimed "This little one was left behind! Oh but it's too late to get her back to her friends. What will I do? What can I do!?!" Fluttershy put her hooves on her head and lay on the counter in a moment of panic.
all this racket had woken up Feathermane who was now sitting up and rubbing the sleepiness out of her eyes. She looked over to see Fluttershy panicking. Oops. She had left herself out in plain sight and was unlucky enough to be found. "Hey, Miss Fluttershy?" she asked.
"Huh, oh your awake. I-I'm sorry." Fluttershy stuttered "I must of forgotten you when taking everypony else to your town. And- wait a minute. I thought only Seabreeze was the only one who could speak the pony language."
"Were not all as stupid as he thinks." Feathermane replied crossly.
"Oh my Seabreeze doesn't actually think that. He was just worried about not making it home on time." Fluttershy said earnestly.
"Humph, it sure didn't seem that way to me." puffed Feathermane.
Fluttershy sighed the gently picked up Feathermane. "Now what will we do with you?" she asked herself.
"I don't want to go back." Feathermane said quietly.
Fluttershy heard this remark and asked "Why not little one?"
Feathermane looked uncomfortable as she said "Because I like it here more."
Fluttershy had a look of understanding as she put Feathermane gently down on the counter. "I see little one. I won't ask anymore questions unless you want me too."
Feathermane furrowed her brow and said "What's up with little one? I have a name you know."
"Oh my, I'm sorry if I offended you but I'm afraid I don't know your name." Fluttershy apologised.
"It's Feathermane." Feathermane stated bluntly. She floated down to the ground and trotted to the living room.
Fluttershy followed her and sat down on the couch. "What will you do now?" she asked genuinely concerned.
"I don't know..." Feathermane admitted. There was a long awkward silence broken by the door slamming loudly.
"Eep!" Fluttershy jumped up and hit her head on the ceiling.
"Fluttershy? Yall ok over there?" AppleJack asked. AppleJack walked over to Fluttershy who was clinging onto the rafters. She grabbed onto her long pink tail and pulled her onto the couch with a thud.
"Oh hello there Applejack." Fluttershy said sheepishly.
"Fluttershy y'all need ta try to relax now and then. After all were all ya friends so there no need to be so nervous." AppleJack glanced around the room her gaze stopping at Feathermane who was sitting on the floor. "What in tarnation!" She exclaimed "Fluttershy ah thought we had gotten dem breezies all home. Whats this one still doing here?"
"Well um, this one hid in my home. She doesn't want to go back." Fluttershy exclaimed.
"Well it's too late anyways but still..." AppleJack said staring hard at Feathermane. Feathermane squirmed under her cold stare. She bowed her head down somewhat ashamed. It was just dawning on her that if she changed her mind she would have to wait a whole year for the portal to open again.
"I'm sorry." she sniffed "I just wanted to explore this world. Mine is so boring."
"Shucks, now don't y'all go crying. Ya didn't mean ta make anypony mad." AppleJack said taking a step towards Feathermane. "Still ah should probably tell Twilight bout ya. She might know what ta do. But I should probably go tell er in the morning."
"Oh yes! That reminds me, how come you're here in the middle of the night?" Fluttershy questioned.
"Ah wanted ta see how y'all settling down. After all we did just have a pretty eventful day." AppleJack said.
"Oh ya!" exclaimed Feathermane "What did happen after the other breezies left?"
AppleJack and Fluttershy settled down to tell her what had happened that afternoon. AppleJack agreed to spend the night as it was late and dangerous for anypony to be out and alone. Fluttershy had scolded AppleJack for even coming here this late.
After some stories and s'mores the three settled down for some sleep, even if it would only be for a few hours.
