//------------------------------// // Sweetie Loves Button // Story: Sweetie Loves Button // by Roxanne10 //------------------------------// It was a sunny day in Ponyville, and Button Mash was walking home from a long day of school. He was trying to get home as fast as he could, without getting discovered by Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle had been stalking Button for the past couple days. He wished he could make her stop, but he was scared of what she might do. "Buttoooooon............," Sweetie Belle called after him. Button didn't know what to do. He ran as fast as he could, and jumped in a bush before Sweetie Belle saw him. When Sweetie Belle reached the spot were Button had been, she looked both ways. "Button Mash were are you?" Sweetie Belle called in a sad voice. She had a frown on her face. Button waited for Sweetie Belle to leave. When she finally left, Button stood up and got out of the bush. He had scraps and cuts from the bush, which hurt when he moved, but he didn't mind, it was better than letting Sweetie Belle find him. As he walked under the cover of the trees he began to hear a creaking noise, he ignored it and kept on walking. "Hi, Button," said a soft voice. Button turned, and found himself face to face with Sweetie Belle. She was upside down in the tree above him. Before Button had time to react or question how Sweetie Belle even got up there, she gave him a soft and gentle kiss on the lips. Button was to surprised at first to react, but when the realisation of what was happening hit him, he quickly broke away from the kiss. He looked up at Sweetie Belle, blushing before quickly averting his gaze. "So how dose it feel to be kissed by a girl? Sweetie Belle asked in a soft voice almost shy voice, while climbing down from the tree. "We could do it again sometime, only if you want, of course." Button looked up at Sweetie Belle, "Don't you think we're to young to kiss?" He asked, still blushing slightly. "Your never to young to kiss," Sweetie Belle answered sweetly. "My mom says that we are to young to kiss," Button said, blushing a deeper red. "YOUR MOM IS WRONG!!" Sweetie Belle screamed, stomping her hoof hard on the ground, while breathing heavily. "Are you alright, Sweetie Belle?" Button, looking down at the white unicorn in concern and worry. Sweetie Belle nodded, "Button, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you." "Its alright, are you sure your okay?" Button asked, still worried. Sweetie Belle nodded. "B-Button, I have something to tell you." Sweetie Belle said sheepishly. "What?" Button asked, his curiosity overpowering his worry. "I I-I love you, Button Mash," Sweetie Belle said slowly looking up at Button Mash and ignoring the obvious blush on her face. She looked straight into his eyes. Button saw a sadness there that he couldn't place. Like she was pleading to him. Button looked at Sweetie Belle in disbelief. He never thought that Sweetie Belle felt the same way about him. "I love you too, Sweetie belle." Button said, looking straight back into Sweetie Belle' eyes. Sweetie Belle stared at Button in confusion. She hadn't expected Button to share the same feelings that she felt. "Really? Do you really love me?" Sweetie asked, her hope rising. Button nodded and smiled, as he wrapped his forelegs around Sweetie and pulled her in to a tight embrace. Then he touched his lips to Sweetie Belle's. A warm sensation went over Sweetie Belle, as she pressed her lips softly against Button's. The sat there for a couple minutes, they're lips still together. When they finally stopped, they sat there staring at each other. Button smiled, "Sweetie Belle, will you be my special somepony?" Button asked, a small smile escaping the corner of his mouth. Sweetie Belle nodded not trusting her voice, then hugged Button again. She knew that she loved Button, and that Button loved her. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ 15 years later Sweetie Belle and Button Mash were still together and seated on a hilltop overlooking Ponyville. It was late midday and it was almost sunset, there were only a few ghostly white clouds in the sky. The reflection off the lake near Ponyville cast a shimmering over the entire town, almost as if the town was covered in sparkling gems. They admired the view together, embracing each other lovingly, "Sweetie Belle?" The now 24 year old Button Mash asked in a deeper voice than when he was just a colt. His hair had grown darker but he had still kept the same hair style as it suited him so well. His coat was also slightly darker, his tail had grown slightly longer and was darker than his mane. But he still possessed the same light brown eyes. "What is it, Button?" Sweetie Belle asked sweetly, her voice not changing as she grew up. Sweetie Belle had grown into a beautiful mare. Looking a lot like her sister's without the makeup or her styled hair. Her mane had stayed the same pink and purple colour it had been when she was just a filly. As she got older she had refused to change her puffy hair, saying it was how she liked it. She had earned her cutie mark just after Applebloom. It was a microphone with a wire attached at the bottom to symbolise her special talent; singing. She had the most wonderful singing voice anypony had ever heard. She was even better than Fluttershy. Her tail had grown longer but she still kept it in the same style as her mane though. "I have something to show you," Button said as he put his hoofs over Sweetie Belle's eyes, preventing her from peaking. "Button, you know that I don't like surprises," Sweetie giggled as she was lead away by her coltfriend. "I know, but you'll like this one. I promise," Button said, while he guided Sweetie Belle over a bridge. As they kept walking, Sweetie wondered where they were going. Finally they stopped. Sweetie could hear the sound of chirping birds and slow flowing water. She could smell the fresh water, felt the dampened grass between her hooves. She breathed in deeply, astonished at how good it felt. Button took his hoofs off Sweetie Belle's eyes. When she opened her eyes she saw the sunset, but it wasn't an ordinary sunset. This sunset looked like its been enchanted. Different colours filled the sky, turning some of the clouds pink, or a light orange. The sky itself was a light pink fading into a deep red as the sun went down over a hillside. It was the most beautiful thing Sweetie Belle had ever seen. The best part of the sunset is that it was over the lake, which reflected the colours across the forest, only adding to the beauty of the amazing sunset. "It's beautiful..." Sweetie Belle said, wrapping her hoof around Button's shoulder without taking her eyes of the sunset. They stayed like that for several minutes until Button broke the silence. "I thought you might like it. It's almost as beautiful as you." Button said smiling. Sweetie Belle turned away from the breath taking sunset to see Button smiling at her. She kissed Button on the cheek. Button kissed Sweetie Belle back, only this time on the lips. Sweetie Belle giggled as Button wrapped his arms around her. "Button, not in public," Sweetie Belle said, still giggling. She looked around to find that they were no where near town. They were in a secluded part of the forest on the opposite side of the Everfree. "Don't worry, we're all alone, "Button said, while kissing Sweetie Belle. "I know, why don't we go for a swim?" Button asked, smiling warmly at Button. "Okay, but only for an hour or two," Sweetie Belle said, kissing Button back and realising that the sunset had almost vanished. "You have my word," Button laughed, as he took Sweetie Belle off her feet, and threw her in the lake. "BUTTON MASH!" Sweetie Belle screamed as she splashed into the lake. "What?" Button asked innocently. "I thought we were going swimming. So I just helped you get wet," Button continued, then jumped in after Sweetie. He landed right next to Sweetie Bell soaking her again. Sweetie playing splashed water on Button then shoved him back under water. "There, now we're even," Sweetie Belle said, giggling slightly as she splashed Button with more water. Button splashed her back, laughing as Sweetie Belles hair went straight instead of its usual puffy self. Time seemed to slow down for a moment for Button as watched Sweetie Belle struggled to fix her hair. He smiled and savoured the moment, knowing that he would never forget it. They kept on splashing each other for what seemed like minutes but was actually hours. The moon was starting to come up when they finally decided to come out and get dry. "Come on Sweetie Belle, its getting dark," Button said, looking up at the sky and seeing the moonlight reflect beautifully off the small lake. "But first I have something to show you." Button said with a smile. "What do you want to show me now?" Sweetie Belle asked, curiosity filled her as she tried to figure out what Button wanted to show her now. She followed Button up to the park next to the lake. On one of the benches, sat a small beautifully carved wooden box. Button motioned for Sweetie to take it. Sweetie Belle picked up the box in her magic. When she opened it she saw a golden necklace. Pure gold with a blue crystal heart shaped diamond attached to it. Sweetie Belle looked up at Button, tears swelling in her eyes in happiness as she realised what was happening. Button smiled and looked into Sweetie Belles light green eyes. "Sweetie Belle, will you marry me?" Button asked only slightly pausing before hand to regain his confidence. Sweetie Belle nodded and started crying, then wrapped her arms around Button, and kissed him once again. Buttons eyes swelled up with tears for a few moments before he started to cry with her. Sweetie Belle's whole body being racked from her heavy sobs while Buttons tears ran freely down his face. They stayed like that for a few minutes before Sweetie regain her composure and looked up at Button with bloodshot eyes. "I love you." She whispered. Button looked down at Sweetie Belle lovingly and without pausing responded. " I love you too."
