I must of passed out after that fight with Soarin, I woke up sometime near dawn and found myself in one of RD's spare rooms. A few minutes of lying there motionless passed before I turned my head and saw the outline of a figure that I was pretty sure was RD but it was too dark to see clearly, I guess that was because it was still dark outside, not to mention Soarin busted up my eye. More time passed and my vision began to adjust to the darkness of the room, my good eye was still focused on Rainbow. As the light came in she was all I could see for some time, then I noticed the wet spot under her face so I assumed she had been crying......Or drooling? A few minutes later she woke up and wiped both her eyes and her mouth (ok so she was crying AND drooling) anyways she got up and noticed that I was awake and looking at her. She was ecstatic to see I was awake and she tackled me with a semi-graceful hug, the only thing that truly sucked at that moment is that I couldn't hug her back, especially since my limbs were almost destroyed. She got off and told me that I had been out for roughly a day and a half, She also mentioned that she had a mechanic take a look at my limbs. She said he was here about a day ago and that he said he would come back with a brand new set of limbs made from a stronger metal and a replacement for my busted eye. She said that when he was leaving earlier he'd said that he would come back in roughly four days so I should be able to walk again in a couple of days.
I spent two days in bed telling Rainbow Dash how I felt, what happened in Canterlot and The Crystal empire, and we talked about where our relationship would go from there. She told me how she had fallen in love with me and how she found out that I had gone to Canterlot, as well as what led to Soarin going off the handle like that. I got to spend all that time with her and learn about her and what her family was like, although I found it slightly strange how she didn't talk to much about her father. I assumed that he died when she was young and left that subject alone. The two days passed like that and they went by quickly and just when we were expecting the mechanic Twilight came in looking like she just saw a ghost and she called Rainbow out into the hallway were she started to whisper, having near super human hearing I could still make out what they were saying.
"Whats wrong twilight you look terrible?" Said Rainbow Dash concerned about her freind
"It's Soarin." Replied Twilight with a hint of fear
"What about him?" she said with a displeased tone
"He's escaped from prison he's coming this way like a freight train." Twilight responded slightly increasing her Volume
"Your joking right?.........Oh shit your serious," Said Rainbow Dash expressing her fear and concern
"I think he may be after you." Twilight said with a shakey voice
"He would be here by now If he was coming for me, no!... He must be after somethi*..... The mechanic, he's after the mechanic."
"He's on his way and he'll be here at first light, which is in twenty minutes."
"That's going to take to long, Soarin will great to him first. I have to go find him." Rainbow Dash said with a strong hint of worry in her voice
"HELL NO!" Twilight screamed
"Why not?"
"Because I've already sent him a message by Pinkie Pie, and knowing her I should get a reply any second now."
"Anyway Is there someone you can send to make sure he gets here faster?"
"He Is here." Came a bubbly voice which could only come from one pony
" Pinkie Pie!! When?!? What!!... What do you mean?" Said Rainbow Dash with an audibly surprised tone
"We arrived a few seconds ago." said Pinkie Pie with a giggle
Just as the conversation died the door opened to my room and the "mechanic" walked in with a large bag full of metallic human limbs and replacement link points. First he put me out with some really strong sleeping gas and removed the old link points and attached the new to the places were my limbs were amputated. I woke up as he was placing the limbs to their rightful positions, applejack was sitting on top of me, and everyone else was holding the devices that connected my nerves to the limbs giving them mobility, "Oh sweet Celestia this is going to hurt lik a son of a bitch" I thought to myself. He had everyone reconnect the nerves simultaneously to "lessen the pain" as he put it but instead it only made it worse I couldn't move to express the amount of pain I was in if I wanted to I could only scream at the top of my lungs.
The pain left almost as quickly as it came and after a few minutes of lying there I got up off of the bed and gave Rainbow a grateful hug. I turned to the mechanic and asked how much I owed for the replacements, but instead of giving me an amount he simply shook his head and said it was on the house for saving his daughter. It took a few seconds for me to realize I was talking to Rainbow Dash's father; a burly pony with a similar build to Big Macintosh named Lightning Stride. I offered my hand out as a sign of respect, he looked at my hand before he offered out his hoof in a similar fashion I grabbed It softly and gave a quick shake.
"My name is Grey-mist." I said
"I know RD told me. Though I am a bit sceptical about her dating a human it's at least better than the other boy" he said audibly voicing his concern
"Dad!!"
"You have a lovely daughter sir."
"Thank you but as I said I'm sceptical of you. So I'll allow it for now, but you hurt her like her ex and I'll make sure you regret it"
"Noted"
Just when everything was getting to be normal Soarin Jumped through the window sending glass shards everywhere. I managed to stop them using one of the magic spells Twilight taught me. Though all the glass fell to the ground as Soarin kicked me into the hallway. He pulled out a knife and just as Rainbow was about to tackle Soarin I shut the door using telekinesis and told them to stay there. Soarin started to say something but my head was still ringing I asked him to repeat what he said when my head stopped ringing.
"You think I'm just going to let you take her away from me? I'm going to make you regret it" He said pointing his knife at me
"I didn't take her from you SHE left YOU!!!" I screamed back
I got up and he stabbed at me but I moved just in the nick of time and he just managed to tear a hole in the shoulder of my shirt. Out of necessity to keep the others safe I jumped out the window and he followed, I flew out of town and landed In a Clearing on the outskirts of the Everfree Forest. He landed in a tree on the other side of the clearing I said "If you want her back your going to have to kill me" to which he replied "And if you want to keep her alive you'll have to kill me"
I didn't want to ever have to kill again but if I didn't do something it meant I would risk her life so I quickly thought of a plan, I was going to use a spell twilight taught me in case Discord went back to his old self. But I would have to stun him first and find an opening. He struck first by swinging his knife in the motion that would catch any normal person off guard, but not me. He hit me in the leg and I vaulted over him kicking him into the dirt. I attacked next while he was covering one of the cuts made on his face, I punched him in the gut, then kneed him in the face as he bent over from the first strike I turned to get at a safe distance for the spell but I dropped my guard and he stabbed me in the left shoulder right through the back and out the front (this wasn't some pocket knife it was a kitchen knife stolen from someone's house) I bent the blade and Kicked him back to the other side of the clearing then hastily cast the spell causing a blinding light to show itself for miles
