Twilight nodded as she listened to Pinkie's retelling of what had happened with her and Cheese. She wasn't too surprised that Cheese had a thing for Pinkie, but she did want to be there for her friend, who was obviously stressing out about this.
"...and then he kissed me Twilight!" Pinkie said, ending her rant with a dramatic flail of the arms.
Twilight's eyes widened, "like on the lips?" she asked. Pinkie nodded and Twilight laughed.
"Oh, wow! Congrats Pinkie!" She exclaimed. Pinkie however, just sighed and shrugged.
"Thanks, but I'm kinda confused about the whole thing...I mean, I knew he was my friend, but now he says he wants to be my coltfriend too...and I'd like that but..." Pinkie replied quickly, muttering the ending a little.
Twilight smiled kindly, she knew where this must be going. Pinkie was probably worried that if things didn't go well, she and Cheese wouldn't be friends anymore.
"Pinkie, I'm sure things will go okay. I mean, you guys both have so much in common...and you two are great together! I mean, you two would throw pretty epic parties, right?" Twilight said, arching a brow.
Pinkie smiled, she had thought about that after he had kissed her, and she did think that they would look adorable together. So she nodded stoutly and beamed at Twilight who beamed back.
"Ooh thanks, Twilight! I know I can always count on you for adivise!" Pinkie said, giving her friend a huge hug.
Twilight blushed, and then coughed a little. Pinkie was crushing her, it seemed that this meant more than she said it did.
"Y-you're welcome, Pinkie...but uh, could you please stop crushing me?" Twilight squeaked.
Pinkie laughed and dropped the stunned alicorn, Twilight hit the floor with a thud. "Oof." She exclaimed, rubbing her now sore backside.
Her pink friend smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, I guess I'm just super excited about this! I mean, I have a coltfriend now! Thats super-duper life-changing news!" She exclaimed.
Twilight nodded and got up off the ground. "I'm just happy your happy, Pinkie." She replied with a smile.
Pinkie smiled back. "Well, I think I have to go now...Cheese said something about meeting him by the lake." She replied, blushing a little.
Twilight laughed, "Okay then! I hope you two have fun." she replied, Pinkie nodded and hopped happily out of the library a huge smile on her face.
The lake was calm and quiet, and Cheese smiled. He had always loved lakes, and any big body of water, since he was a colt. The sun was shining down on the lake, making beautiful sparkles on it. He had been waiting here for a while now, and he nervously rubbed both his hooves together. He and Pinkie were going to go on their first ever date, and he had set up a surprise pinic for her. He knew how much she loved surprises.
He smiled brightly as he saw the bright pink mane of Pinkie, and then her full form, hop towards him. She looked very happy and Cheese smiled. It was a great feeling that he made his special mare so happy.
"Hey, Pinkie!" He said to her with a wave.
Pinkie noticed him and waved back. She smiled and rushed over to him, hair bouncing with every rushed step. Cheese blinked and wiped the sweat on his forehead. She was just so beautiful! He couldn't handle it sometimes.
"Wow, Cheese! Did you set this up just for me?" Pinkie asked, even though she probably knew the answer.
Cheese nodded and smiled, he lifted up the red and white blanket that was covering the basket, and inside was a whole slue of yummy looking treats. Some sandwiches were in there as well, for dietary reasons, and all of the treats and sandwiches were shaped like little hearts.
Pinkie squealed with glee, and Cheese laughed. The two began to load up their plates with all the delicious food and after a while of eating, Cheese smiled.
"So...This is nice." He exclaimed, awkwardly.
Pinkie nodded. She was really nervous, and she had no idea how to act right on a date. She'd been super careful to not be so messy as she normally was, but Cheese didn't seem to care if she was. He just seemed to like her...for her. It was a really nice feeling, and it warmed Pinkie all over.
"Yeah, its really nice!" Pinkie replied, biting on a heart-shaped chocolate.
Cheese sighed. He wasn't bored, but happy. He hadn't felt this happy in a long time. Being with Pinkie made him smile, even when she was trying to be polite, she still made him giggle a little.
"So, what do you wanna do now?" Cheese asked with a kind smile.
Pinkie had finished her meal, and Cheese had finished his long ago...He wasn't a very big eater. Pinkie looked around for something fun to do, when she spotted a very cool looking swan-shaped boat. She thought that the boat was pretty and Cheese's eyes lit up as she dragged him toward it.
"How about a boat ride! That sounds super-duper romantic! It'd probably be fun too!" She exclaimed, getting into the boat.
Cheese followed her. He was a little unsteady and this made the boat topple a little. He laughed as he fell into Pinkie's arms, she smiled at him as they both sat down.
"Heh, sorry about that Pinkie. I'm a little unbalanced. I guess." He explained, looking down at his hooves.
Pinkie laughed, "oh that's okay! I get all wobbly sometimes too! I guess your just nervous, which is totally silly, cause I like you for you!" She said as she poked him in the stomach.
He blinked, her sincereness was very kind, and he smiled, leaned over and pecked her on the check. Pinkie's checks immediately turned a rosy color and she giggled.
The two of them rowed on the lake for a long while. Pinkie wasn't too sure what time it was when they finally got off, but the sun was about to set in the sky. Cheese smiled and took her over to a shaded area.
Pinkie was now wondering what in Equestria he was doing. He simply smiled and pulled her down with him. She squeaked and then laughed as he kissed her passionately. His kisses made her feel so good, and when the sun was finally set, the two of them cuddled together, and then slept in each others arms as the stars came out and twinkled above them.
