The PonyVille Chronicles

Seeking an Angel (Chapter 1)

“And from then on, the brave dragon learned to never steal again, the end.”

Twilight closed the book and slipped it in the vacant slot of her bookshelf. She set Spike, who was fast asleep, on her back and took him upstairs to tuck him in before continuing her research on the recent strange happenings in Ponyville. As her eyes scanned the page in her book she heard a thud on her wall. She stepped outside but didn’t see anything weird. She shrugged and trotted back inside to study. Thirty minutes and one hundred and fifty pages later, Twilight was face first in her book, catching z’s and snoring cutely.

Eight hours have gone by, and Twilight batted her eyes open only to see the books lining the wall. She felt a struggle below her so she stood up only to discover Spike laying on the floor catching his breathe.

“Spike? What were you doing under me? I tucked you in last night.”

He took a few seconds to regain his breathe before being able to make out his sentence.

“I.... I saw you asleep on the floor and I tried taking you to your room but, as you can see it didnt’t work so well”.

Twilight giggled and kissed his cheek.

“Thanks Spike, thats very sweet”.

Spike blushed and ran upstairs nervously. Twilight smiled and shook her head.

“Weirdo”.

Her shaking was interupted by a soft knock on her door. She approached her door and used her magic to pull it open, before she could see who it was, Fluttershy zoomed past her and fell to the floor. Fluttershy was trembling with fear and sadness. Twilights smile was quickly wiped off her face and she walked over to her friend.

“Whats wrong Fluttershy? I’ve never seen you like this.”

Fluttershy wiped the tears from her cheek and looked up at Twilight.

“Oh Twilight! It’s Angel! He didn’t come out for breakfast and I couldn’t find him anywhere!”

Twilight helped Fluttershy up onto her hooves. Twilight assured her friend,
‘Fluttershy i’m sure he’s fine, but where could he have gone?”

Fluttershy became filled with worry again.

“He’s such a small bunny and Equestria is a big place, he could be anywhere.”

Twilight set her hoof on Fluttershy’s shoulder and smiled.

“Don’t worry Fluttershy, i’ll help you find Angel.”

Fluttershy threw her arms around Twilight and squeezed her tight.
“Oh thank you thank you thank you Twilight!”

Twilight smiled and gently pushed Fluttershy off of her.

“What are friends for?”

They headed out the door and followed the dirt walkway through town, checking every nook and cranny, seeking an Angel. As they passed Fluttershy’s house Twilight couldn't help but ask,

“Are you sure Angel isn’t back home?”

Fluttershy Nodded.

“I was almost positive, I mean, I guess he could have come back home by now.”

As she ended her sentence, the two were crushed by a pony that had somehow fallen from the sky, before they had time to see who it was, the pony was gone. Twilight helped Fluttershy up and shook her head.

“C’mon Fluttershy, lets check your house one more time.”

Fluttershy smiled and approached to entrance to her house. She pushed the door slowly with her hoof and slowly called out for her lost bunny.

‘Angel? Angel? Are you here?”

Out of the blue, a small white fuzzball came bouncing in from the other room. Fluttershy zoomed into the house and squeezed her Angel.

“Oh Angel! Im so glad you’re here! I missed you so much!”

Twilight smiled at the scene of her happy, smiling friend. She had learned a lot with one mental image, friends may not need help, but sometimes they need you to tell them that. Twilight opened the door,

“Come on Fluttershy, lets get some rest, we need to cheer on Rainbow Dash tomorrow.”

Twilight stayed with Fluttershy for the night to keep her company and leave together in the morning.
