After the incident with the mirror, Fluttershy found herself deep in a dark and stormy forest surrounded by lots of rocks and trees. Fluttershy was scared as she walked around the forest to find her friends.
"Hello? Is anypony out there?!", shouted Fluttershy in a worried tone.
After a while of walking in the forest, Fluttershy saw a light in the distance. Fluttershy went to the light thinking it was Twilight using her magic to light up the forest. Fluttershy started running to the light and was feeling happy because she was going to see her friends once again. When Fluttershy got to the light, the light flashed bright. The flash of light blinded Fluttershy, so she shut her eyes tight. When Fluttershy opened her eyes again, she was standing in front of a mansion. She was confused of what had happened, she was nowhere near a house or an exit. As she looked at the mansion, Fluttershy felt scared because the mansion reminded her of the abandoned mansion in the Everfree Forest. She knew she wasn't going to let herself get tricked two times in one day...or in this case two times in one night. Feeling courageous, Fluttershy turned around and walked away from the mansion but as she did she got a visit from some orange ghosts. Fluttershy looked at the ghosts and screamed loudly. She covered her face with her hooves and dropped herself to the floor. The ghosts surrounded her and started laughing at her. Tears were running down her eyes.
"P-Please, somepony help meeeee...", said Fluttershy as she started crying.
Fluttershy couldn't do anything because she was too scared to move. The orange ghosts noticed someone also was walking in the forest, so they decided to scare the stranger. Fluttershy heard someone's voice echo throughout the forest.
"Mario...Mario...Mariooooo!", said the unknown stranger.
The ghosts pop out and scared the stranger. The stranger screamed and made Fluttershy scream too. Fluttershy stood up and started running with her eyes closed. She ran straight to the stranger and crased into him. Both of them fell to the floor. The orange ghosts laughed at both of them and vanished into the forest.
The stranger stood up and wiped off the dirt from his clothes and picked up his flashlight. The stranger saw Fluttershy and was shocked to see a yellow pony with wings on the floor. He tried to ignore the pony part about her and helped her up. He asked her if she was okay. Fluttershy stood up on her four hooves and nodded her head. Fluttershy opened her eyes and saw the stranger. She was shocked that she was looking at a human. The stranger told her that his name was Luigi. Fluttershy was nervous to talk to him. She stepped back slowly and away from him. Luigi asked her what was her name. Fluttershy was too shy to say something. She started whispering quietly and softly.
"Flutter...", said Fluttershy as she was looking away.
Luigi was confused, he told her if she can repeat what she had said.
"I'm...Fluttershy...", repeated Fluttershy and looked directly at him.
Luigi was shocked that he was hearing Fluttershy talk. He took a step back but he tripped and fell to the floor. Fluttershy was confused and asked Luigi was what was the matter.
"Y-You're a talking horse!" shouted Luigi in scared tone.
"No, I'm a pony not a horse!" replied Fluttershy.
Luigi was still shocked to hear her speak. Fluttershy looked at Luigi on the floor trembling and started to laugh. Luigi looked at Fluttershy and realized that there was nothing scary about a talking pony at the moment. Fluttershy told Luigi that there was nothing to be scared about, that she wouldn't hurt nobody, not even a tiny bug. Luigi stood up and walked towards Fluttershy. As he did that, the orange ghosts returned. They snuck up behind Fluttershy and scared her. Fluttershy screamed and dropped to the floor as she covered her eyes. The ghosts laughed at her. Luigi jumped in front of Fluttershy and shined his flashlight at the ghosts. The ghosts were stunned by the light and vanished. Fluttershy uncovered her eyes and saw Luigi standing in front of her.
"Nobody messes with my friends.", said Luigi as he saw the ghosts leave.
Luigi looked at Fluttershy and helped her stand up. Fluttershy had asked Luigi why he considered her as a friend of his. Luigi told her that she seems like a nice pony to talk to. Fluttershy then realized there was nothing scary about a human being.
Luigi asked Fluttershy what was she doing in the middle of a forest. Fluttershy explained everything. About the shining light, the abandoned mansion, the mirror, and also about the white objects with the long tongues. When Fluttershy mentioned the white objects with long tongues, Luigi stopped her. Luigi described the white objects in his part. Fluttershy said yes to everything he had said to describe them. Luigi told Fluttershy that those white objects are ghosts called Boos. Fluttershy stared into space with a scared face. She started remembering what had happened last night with the Boo that scared her back in the Everfree Forest. Fluttershy had asked Luigi why the boos took the Elements of Harmony to this world. Luigi didn't know what Fluttershy was talking about. Fluttershy explained what the Elements of Harmony were and also mentioned that her friends were sucked into this world too but she can't find them anywhere. She also told Luigi what would happen if she doesn't bring her friends and the Elements of Harmony back to Equestria. Luigi told Fluttershy that he would help her find her friends and the Elements of Harmony in one condition. He told Fluttershy that she must help him find his older brother Mario. Fluttershy cheered and agreed on helping him without question.
Luigi also told Fluttershy that his brother went into the mansion that was behind her. Fluttershy stopped cheering and heard what Luigi said. She didn't want to go into the mansion but she had already agreed on helping him. Luigi said that Mario should be in the mansion waiting for him. Fluttershy asked why his brother would wait for him in an old and scary mansion. Luigi told her that he had won the mansion in a contest he didn't even entered and Mario told Luigi that he'll meet up with him inside. He told her that there was no more time to explain. He started walking towards the mansion and Fluttershy followed him. Luigi opened the gate and as he did, the gate made a loud rusty sound. Luigi and Fluttershy both entered through the gate and walked slowly towards the mansion's door. The gate had slammed shut behind them and made them jump. They looked at the gate and then to each other and then continued walking to the door. Once they got to the door, Luigi reached for the doorknob. As he was about to grab the knob, there was a slam on the door from the other side. Luigi and Fluttershy got scared and ran back to the gate. They knew they needed to get inside to meet up with Mario. They walked back to the door and this time Luigi opened the door. As he opened the door, him and Fluttershy peeked their heads in to see if there was anyone inside.
"H-Hello?", said Luigi in a nervous tone.
"I-Is anypony in here...Twilight?", said Fluttershy while she looked around the mansion.
They both walked inside the mansion. Luigi flashed his flashlight around to see if anyone was there. Fluttershy saw a chandelier hanging in the middle of the room. She walked under it to take a better look. Luigi heard something shaking and pointed his flashlight at the chandelier. The chandelier fell and was going to hit Fluttershy. Fluttershy looked at the falling chandelier and stood there without thinking of moving. Luigi ran to Fluttershy and pushed her out of the way. The chandelier had stopped falling and was one foot off the floor. Luigi opened his eyes to see what had happened. He looked and realized that the chandelier was right atop of him and was about to fall on him. Luigi rolled out of the way. Fluttershy got up and looked at Luigi to see if anything happened to him. She ran to the chandelier and looked under it. The chandelier started to rise up back to the ceiling. Luigi stood up and wiped the dust off his clothes. They heard a laugh echo through the mansion. Luigi knew it was the work of the boos. Fluttershy ran to Luigi and told him if he was ok. Luigi told her that he was fine, he just wanted to find Mario so they can leave this place. Fluttershy saw a door that was across the entrance door. Luigi walked to the door and tried to open it but it was covered in some weird glowing web. There was nowhere to go but upstairs now.
When they went upstairs they saw another door. Luigi walked to the door but before he did he saw a trail of coins leading to another door down the hall. Fluttershy looked at the coins and wondered why were there bits on the floor. Luigi walked towards the coins and picked them up. He looked at the door and tried to open it. It was locked. Luigi was disappointed he couldn't get more coins and started to weep. Fluttershy was getting angry because Luigi was wasting time. Luigi got up from the floor and stopped weeping. He walked to the main door of the second floor and opened the door. Fluttershy rushed behind him so she wouldn't get left behind. Luigi walked in the room but he couldn't see a thing. The room was dark. Luigi turned on his flashlight and looked around the room. Fluttershy walked around and explored the room also. Luigi started to yell Mario's name but there was no answer. All of a sudden a group of orange ghosts appeared and surrounded them. Fluttershy and Luigi walked back and bumped into each other. They were back to back and looking at each other. Luigi flashed the light at the ghosts but not happened. Another ghost appeared but this time it wasn't an orange ghost, it was a pink ghost. The pink ghost went towards Fluttershy and Luigi to scare them but Luigi got his flashlight and flashed it on the pink ghost. The flash stunned the ghost and made it mad. The pink ghost charged his energy and punched Luigi. Luigi flew to the wall and hit it hard. Fluttershy saw Luigi get hurt and that made her angry. Fluttershy picked up the flashlight and flashed it to the pink ghost multiple times. It stunned the pink ghost and made its eyes hurt. The pink ghost vanished into the walls and the orange ghosts followed.
Fluttershy dropped the flashlight and screamed, "Nobody messes with my friends!"
Fluttershy went to Luigi and helped him up. They decided to leave the mansion. Luigi struggled to walk but Fluttershy said that she'll help him. Fluttershy told Luigi to get on top of her. She flapped her wings and flew out of the mansion.
"T-Thank you Fluttershy...", said Luigi in a tired voice as they were leaving the mansion
They exited the mansion went through the gate. Luigi got off Fluttershy and began to walk. As they walked away from the mansion, they noticed a cottage near the entrance of the gate. They both looked at each other and decided to go in the cottage. They wondered if someone inside could help them find Fluttershy's friends and Luigi's brother.
