//------------------------------// // My Amazing Rainbow Dash // Story: My Amazing Rainbow Dash // by Kayes //------------------------------// When I was younger, a lot of fillies and colts were raised to believe that a stallion was created for a mare, and a mare was created for a stallion. That was the normal lifestyle across Equestria, and nopony in my family had ever came out about having homosexual relationships with the same gender. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against this type of stuff, in fact, I am the first one in my family to actually publically announce that I am in love with the greatest marefriend anypony could ask for. I am honored and blessed by Princess Celestia herself to call that silly pony my very special somepony. A lot of ponies think that Rainbow Dash is all walk and talk, she puts on a great show and then walks away as if she hadn't even placed any effort into it at all, but I know better than anypony else that Rainbow pours every ounce of her being into being the best that she can be. Whenever I used to question her about it when we were simply "just friends", she would always make up some snide remark and claim I was reading in between the lines too much, that was, of course, before she had grabbed my prized hat and decided to fly away with it. I followed that Pegasus for nearly three miles nonstop in an attempt to win my beloved possession over, but the difference between being able to fly and having to run is that I become naturally more exhausted, even over such a short distance that would be nothing for any Pegasus pony that is trained like Rainbow Dash. What I mean to say though is that Rainbow Dash is a mare with class and grace when she isn't acting like a complete slob and taking a nap after moving one or two small clouds around that morning. Everything she says and does serves a purpose to her, and she is more than happy to show anypony what that purpose is if they even so much as question her. While that mare has her head up in the clouds do darned high that even Celestia's glorious sun can't find her, I adore her anyway. There is a lot of good that outways the negative with Rainbow, mainly the parts where she is the most loyal and athletic pony that I know, or something along those lines. She means what she says and says what she means, basically making her the most dependable friend that anypony could to for a job to get done or a promise to keep. Now I know that a lot of folks believe that Rainbow Dash was a very lonesome and exiled pony back in her Junior Flight Academy class just because of her tomcolt attitude and her more brutal tenancies, however, that isn't true at all. Rainbow Dash comes from a loving home with at least four siblings, each one with the same rough and ragged attitude and impatience to sit around and be lazy when there is work to be done. Her parents are good folks that accepted me into their family instantly, and even explained to me that her mother's sister was an open, excuse my term here, fillyfooler. The only real reason why Rainbow Dash came off as such a cold and unloving mare when she first meets somepony is because of the rumors and constant name calling from the rascals in her old class. However, she remained proud and shone through the torment by proving herself to be the only pony in Equestrian history to ever pull off a Sonic Rainboom. After more ponies came to realize the brave step Rainbow Dash had took in a direction that still wasn't much accepted, let alone explored at that time, they began to praise her. To some, she even became an idol and would often times ask her for advice about sexuality issues and what to do when telling their folks. Rainbow was always more than willing to lend an ear, and sometimes a hoof, to those that needed the support. The helpfulness and leadership skills she showed brought her to extreme popularity by her last year in her class, and even after she left, stories of her school legend continued to cycle throughout the campus. She had become an idol for everypony, even some of the bullies that used to tease her only a few months before her rapid fire into popularity. Sometimes I personally wonder what brought Rainbow Dash to me, somepony as loving and as perishable as her shouldn't have even glanced twice at a farmpony that is glued to an apple tree all day, but the day that Rainbow Dash first kissed me was the happiest and most sincere moment of passion in my entire life. Not even the feeling of getting my cutie mark could ever compete with the sensation of how it feel having her lips pressed against mine, her hooves wrapped around me and holding me tightly while the rain poured down outside and we were drenched from it. That was the moment that I had realized that it was okay for a mare to love another mare, and that I would be an idiot to even try to deny my inner feelings for that blue Pegasus. Even the thought of her makes me get jittery. Rainbow Dash came into my life when the farm was suffering and my last close friend and cousin had finally moved away to start his own farm. I had spent a lot of my days working along the orchards and sighing, numbly bucking the trees and wishing for some company. Sure, I had Big Mac helping me, but he never has anything worth while to say when it comes to conversation, let alone applebucking. The loneliness would have been blissful on days such as the Apple Family reunions, but in the middle of a harvesting season where the only noise you could hear is the sound of two ponies hooves whacking harshly against an apple tree, then there wasn't much that you could do. I had been doing that same routine for a day and a half straight, sweating under the hot sun and only take a small break every few hours for some water or apple juice. Mac and I had been in the East Field, when a giant crashing noise came from a few yards a way. Him and I stared at each other for a long moment, each shrugging, before we took off into a gallop at the sound of the noise. We arrived in a small part of the orchard where part of a tree branch had been broken off and a very colorful Pegasus was grumbling, rubbing the top of her head and cursing at the tree for "getting in her way". She didn't even notice Mac and I standing next to her, glancing at each other with a bit of amusement and confusion. I was the first one to clear my throat, and slowly, I approached the grumbling mare. "Howdy there partner! Ah see that ya crashed mighty hard there, you okay? Not many Pegasus ponies come in this field and take down a branch with 'em, I gotta say, that ain't the best for one of mah trees!" I plastered on a friendly smile, walking over the Pegasus and offering a hoof out to held her up, but a confused expression and wide magenta eyes had told me she hoped nopony had seen that accident happen. She pushed my off away, and dusted herself off, before flapping her wings and playing it off as fine. "Pft, I'm completely fine. I've been in worse situations than that before! I could battle a manticore blindfolded with one wing tied down," she proudly declared this with a puff of her chest, before her face dropped and her ears lowered a bit out of shame, a small smile coming upon her adorable face,"Also, sorry about the tree. I wasn't looking where I was going, it was my fault." "Ain't a problem, sugar cube! Ah'm just glad you're alright, and I hope that the crash didn't jar ya up too bad. The name is Applejack by the way, and the stallion here is mah older brother Big Mac. We own the farm here, Sweet Apple Acres, best apples in all of Equestria!" I proudly reared back on two legs, expanding my hooves out as to emphasize the vastness of the farm. I loved my job, but sometimes I became a bit too carried away with it. Rainbow Dash smiled brighter in that moment, when she flipped her mane back and flared her wings,"The name is Rainbow Dash! I'm a new Weather pony here in Ponyville, I'm glad to meet somepony that doesn't mind me being a bit rusty from practice." She giggled slightly, and I joined in, which led to the two of us rolling around on the ground, out of air. Big Mac simply had rolled his eyes and strolled away, resuming his applebucking. The way that Rainbow Dash moved me way the ways that somepony else never could. She is my first love and my only love. She is my amazing Rainbow Dash.
