Running While Preggers

Month#1: Making Up

Jasmine stared at the bickering pegasus and unicorn. Rainbow Dash and Rarity we're arguing again. It was getting tiresome. I was ignoring them and reading a book about draconaqui. It was very informative. Jasmine turned to me. I looked up. She scoffed and looked away. I whimpered and went back to reading. This went on for the next few days. I didn't understand at first what was wrong but then it hit me.
Jasmine was pregnant.
She was hormonal.
She needed attention.
Uum...more than her usual amount...
I decided I needed to create some romantic scheme to win over my beloved's hormonal heart. I put the book down and turned to her. I grabbed her and held her down as I kissed her tenderly on the lips. Her eyes widened in surprise and I grinned and stopped for air. She blushed. Rainbow Dash and Rarity stared at us. Rarity put her hooves together and sighed.
"Ahh, young romance!" she cooed.
"Oh give me a break!" Rainbow Dash gagged and spread her wings. "I'm out. Tell me when you two stop tying to make me barf with all your mushy gushy-ness."
"Oh, hush you!" Rarity swatted Rainbow lightly on the leg and the cyan pegasus took off into the sky. She turned back to us. We at there for a few seconds.
Seconds turned to minutes.
Minutes turned to a half-hour.
I frowned and I felt Jazz shift a little. Rarity had this smile on her face for the longest and it was getting kind of creepy. I cleared my throat. She flinched and blinked. The look Jasmine gave her was priceless. I had to hold back my smile from coming again.
"So, I'm going too see if Twilight is shutting herself in the library again. Have a nice day..."
"Later. See you at the hotel." Jasmine chimed. She gave a little wave and grabbed my arm. "Lets go. I wanna see if Zecora is around here somewhere." I wanted to ask "Aren't you mad at me???" deep down but I forced the question back because if I asked her that I would then have to ask, "Why were you mad at me anyway???" and those are the number one things you should never do when in a relationship with a mare.
(1) Remind them that they are mad at you
(2) Ask them why they were mad at you in the first place
You should instead: a) Let them completely forget they are mad, and b) Pretend you know why they are mad at you even though you absolutely have no clue and stay away from them when they want you to stay away.
Those were some of the many rules and tips I learned from books and a couple of stallions I ran into at the market.
Jasmine tugged at my arm and we both took to the air. We headed towards the market area so we could get a birds-eye-view of anypony there and then we turned slightly towards the more woodsy areas. Zecora tended to be a bit old school when it came to hose preference and property suroundings.
This led me to wonder, how exactly did Jasmine know Zecora? I didn't remember them meeting in Ponyville or anytime during the conflict with her father and Equestria.
"Sooo..." I started.
"Sooo...what?"
"Well, how did you meet Zecora?"
"Twilight and Applejack introduced me."
"When was this?"
"Yesterday. That was when I was still mad at you." I gulped. She gave me a mischievous smile. "You didn't think i actually forgot did you?"
"Uhhh...n-nope."
"You're a horrible liar."
"Hmmf." We landed on the soft grass and I plopped myself down. Jasmine went on all fours and jerked her muzzle in a particular direction. I noticed a black and white pelt and shiny gold in the near distance. "Zecora?" I mumbled.
It was Zecora. The zebra was uprooting some strangely scented orange flowers and singing in her native language.
"Zecora!" Jasmine called. The zebra looked up and her eyes focused on my beloved. "It's me, Jasmine!"
Zecora nodded curtly and grunted in greeting. Jasmine flung her arms around the zebra and squeezed.
"I'm glad you came to the herbal grounds, but what made you decide to come around?"
"What do you mean?"
"I think she means, why are we here bothering her."
"No, no my little pony." The zebra chuckled. "I mean, why have you come to greet me?" Jasmine and I turned to each other. I shrugged and she turned back to her.
"I wanted to see if you were around here somewhere. Turns out I was right."
"MmmHmm, I see. Would you like to join me?"
"Oh sure." Jazz nodded eagerly. I nodded too. We had absolutely no clue what we were joining her to do or where Zecora would be heading to next but hey... Jasmine seemed to not be bothered by that. We walked through the landowning area where ponies and other creatures that had large yards or did a little farming lived. There were no major farms around Wakonda. Not like Sweet Apple Acres in Old Ponyville. Thinking on that note made me sad for a moment. I missed Old Ponyville and the library and Sugar Cube Corner. I especially missed sending letters to Princess Celestia. I wondered how Princess Luna was coping without her sister. I hadn't seen her in a while.
"Spike? Hellooo?" I blinked.
"Huh?"
"Are you listening? You're, like, staring off into space or something." Zecora watched me with an amused look and Jasmine waved her claw in my face.
"No... I was thinking." I wiped my forehead of sweat. It was really hot that day.
"Oh for the love of Celestia! Do you ever pay attention?" I flinched at her name. Jasmine's gaze softened.
"Never mind, Spikey-Wikey. I'm sure Zecora wont mind repeatng." At that, the zebra turned and continued walking.
She spoke without looking behind her, "The forest is not as dangerous as the Everfree, but it would do you good to stay close to me."
I nodded. So did Jazz.
"Understood."
"Why do you speak in rhymes, Zecora?" Jasmine asked.
"While most believe it is religion, I do this because of tradition."
"Really?" I thought hard on this. "But do the other zebras and non-pony kind here peak that way only for tradition?"
"A cow spoke to you earlier, did it not?" Zecora turned and stared at me coldly. She sighed. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to be so naught."
"Sorry" I shook my head. "I didn't mean to offend."
"I suppose you've endured many stereotypes and the like simply because of how you choose to speak." Jasmine said.
''Yes that is true. Anyways, | have a surprise for you.''
''What is it?'' | asked. Zecora gestured towards a small clearing with hills of sand and a shallow pond. There were a bunch of younglings running about and laughing. There were zebra foals, griffon fledglings, calfs, and pony foals. There were three teenage fillies in particular that caught my eye. It was the CMC! They saw Jasmine and ran up to her.
''Jasmine, you're here! I can't believe it!''
''Oh my gosh, girls. I haven't seen you in sooo long. How have you been?''
''Fine!'' the fillies chimed. | watched them romp around with their old friend and it felt just like old times.
Just like old times...
