Soulless

Pinkie Pie

"Are you enjoying the party?" Pinkie asked a pony in a hyper tone.

"Sorry to say this Pinkie, but the party's a little bland. Why don't you try spicing things up a bit. Try something new." The pony repllied, as politely as she could manage.

"O-oh, um, o-ok, I'll try to improve." Pinkie said, disappointed.

Well, what was one pony? Maybe the others were enjoying it. She asked a few more ponies, but got the same response every time. When she was sure she'd asked everypony, she went upstairs.

"They're right you know. Your parties are lame." A voice in her head stated.

"N-no they aren't! I just need to try some new techniques, that's all!" Pinkie said back to the voice.

"Face it Pinkie. You'll never be as good as Cheese Sandwich, or anypony for that matter. Get your head out of the clouds and find something you're actually good at. If you can!" The voice taunted her mercilessly.

"Stop!" Pinkie demanded.

The voice began to laugh hysterically. Then more and more voices joined in. The laughing grew louder and louder and more insane by the second.

"Please just make it stop! Please please please please please!" Pinkie sobbed, but it grew louder. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Pinkie Pie woke up terrified. The voices were now gone, and she was alone in her room. It was just a nightmare. She didn't speak, but had a very confused expression laid across her face. She was curious about the nightmare.

She walked downstairs to get a snack; nightmares tend to make her hungry. As she reached a hoof out to open the fridge, her jaw dropped and she froze. Her hoof was black, with just a light pink outline around it. That was what her whole body looked like, including her mane, tail, eyes, and cutie mark. She was shocked and confused; her body was completely hollow! How could she be alive? Was she even alive at all?!

She shook her head, knocking herself out of her daze. She looked to her left, where she thought she'd seen something. Or somepony to be exact. As she looked though, the world around her turned as black as her hollow body. She began to grasp what was happening. Her hair flattened out and she sat. A few tears ran down her face and she began to sob quietly. She could barely hear the word "laughter" echo around her.

She wasn't happy. She wasn't excited. She was soulless.
