I woke up three-four hours later, unsure of where I was. I looked around, dazed and confused. I heard noises, it sounded like birds and rabbits were around me. I slowly was coming to, becoming more aware of my surroundings. It seemed as though I was in a tiny wooden cottage; I was in a bed and had a blue quilt. I had completely forgotten that I had become a pony, a mare for that matter. When I put my hand in front of my face to scratch my forehead I noticed again.
“This must be a dream,” I muttered to myself. I got out of the bed this time on all fours, not just the two I stood up on beforehand. I attempted to walk. It just wasn’t right. It didn’t feel like normal. I ‘trotted’ forward, trying not to fall over. I was doing pretty well, until this little Pegasus pony, yellow with pink hair, startled me. I thought to myself , “Am I really in the land of MLP: FiM? I must be dreaming.”
“Oh, hello. I’m sorry if I woke you. You can go back to sleep if you want. I’m sorry,” said the yellow pony.
I was in complete awe at the fact I was talking to Fluttershy. I finally replied, “A-are you talking?”
“Yes I am. Are you feeling ok?”
I nearly fell over at this. “Wha-what’s your name?”
“Oh, my name is Fluttershy,” she replied quietly.
So it’s true, I realized. I’m in the land of MLP. “What's your name?” Fluttershy asked.
“Oh it’s, ummm...” I was at a loss of what to say. I forgot my real name! “Think. Think!” I quickly thought. A name suddenly popped into my head “My name is Crystal, yeah that’s it.”
“That’s a very nice name. That means I now have another friend!” she exclaimed still sounding quiet.
“Listen. I don’t mean to sound rude or anything, but I need to find information about these explosions. Do you know anywhere I could find such information?”
“Please don’t talk about the explosions. They're big, mean, and scary, b-but, T-Twilight would probably have some information.” I was excited. I went to take a step forward, but using my hind legs first, I immediately fell over.
“OOF!” I exclaimed.
“Are you ok?” said Fluttershy.
“Oww. It hurt a bit, but yes, I’ll be ok,” I responded groggily.
An hour or two passed before I had gathered how to walk properly with no trouble. I laughed at the sound I made when I walked. Fluttershy just got confused.
“I should have asked earlier, but how do I get to Twilight?” She pointed her hoof to a large tree only a couple hundred meters away.
“I would go with you but I have to help with Angel. He’s my bunny, and he can be very fussy at times.”
“Ok, see you later Fluttershy,” I said as I started trotting off into the direction of the large tree. On my way I had time to think to myself, when this thought occurred to me.
“Oh my god!” I yelled out loud. “I’m a girl, I completely forgot!” I started trotting around in circles to try and make myself think and try to understand why this was happening. I was truly confused.
“Ok. I’ll fix this. I’ll worry about this later,” I said to myself as I kept on going
Twenty or so minutes passed while on this constant trotting. I was doing laps around a tree.
“I can’t believe this has happened,” I said in shock. Up in the sky something caught my attention. A rainbow seeming to get closer and closer
“LOOK OUT!” I hear screamed in my direction. CRASH! A cyan pony with a rainbow mane and tail was at my feet.
I think to myself, “Is that, Rainbow Dash?”
"Ugh." The pony which had just landed in front of me made a large moaning “OWWW!” Then she stood up, shook off the dirt and said, “Hi, name’s Rainbow Dash. Heh heh. Sorry about that. You must be new here. What’s your name?”
“This isn’t happening, it’s just not possible!” I think to myself.
“Ummm, are you feeling ok?” said the lightly bruised pony
“Yeah I’m fine. My name is Crystal. I’m new here. I’m just walking to somepony named Twilight’s house,” I said, realizing I said somepony not somebody.
“Why are you walking? I mean you do have wings and all.” I had no clue what to say to this. I mean, I don’t know how to fly, but if I tell her this, she may realize that I’m not a pony, and that could end up badly. But my loudmouth insisted on me asking her on how to fly.
”Uuuuhhh. I don’t know how to fly.”
Rainbow Dash burst out laughing. “You’re joking right?!”
I quietly replied, “No. I’m not.” I had to make an excuse.
“It’s not funny! I fell out of Cloudsdale into the Everfree Forrest before learning how to fly!” Rainbow Dash believed me.
“Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry! I didn’t know!” I felt kind of bad for lying to Rainbow Dash, but I had to keep quiet. “It’s fine, but could you teach me how to fly?”
“Umm. I guess so,” Rainbow Dash replied. The hours flew on by, quite literally. I had now grasped the basic concept of flying. I thanked Rainbow Dash as she flew off back to Cloudsdale.
I began to take flight without the help of the cyan Pegasus pony, when out of nowhere, I was tackled by a pink blur. Without any time to think it said, “HIIIIII! My name’s Pinkie Pie, but you can call me Pinkie all my friends do! What’s your name, where are you from, do you know Twilight, have you met the princess-”
I quickly interrupted the rambling. “Whoa, whoa! One question at a time. My names Crystal, I’m from the Everfree Forrest, I’m trying to find Twilight, and nice to meet you,” I said quickly.
“Ooh do you know Twilight? Well if you’re going to meet her, you should probably go past sugarcube corner. There are lots of things to do there! And- WAIT! Did you say the E-E-EVERFREE FOREST?!?!”
The pink pony quickly darted away in a flash. “Well that was random......” I said to myself. So I took flight and looked for a tall tree, according to Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. I quickly darted towards the tree forgetting I was a novice flier. I forgot to flap my left wing and immediately went hurtling towards a white, blue, and purple house. “This can’t be good!” I immediately thought before crashing through the roof of the building.
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!” A large scream came from a white unicorn pony with purple hair.
“MY MANE” she continued.
“Ugh. I’m really sorry, it was an accident! I’m new at this whole flying business!” I said to the unicorn
“Oh, I’m sorry. I just thought that Sweetie Belle and her friends may have been up to mischief. I say, are you alright?” she replied
“Yes, thank you for asking. Aren’t you mad that I broke through your roof and messed up your shop?” I questioned.
“Well of course I’m a bit mad, but it’s nothing a little magic can’t fix.”
“Did you need some help?” I asked.
“I'll be fine. You must be new around here. I’m Rarity. Now where was it you were going?” Rarity replied.
“I’m looking for Twilight. I need answers on something I just experienced,” I said.
“And what is that?” The white unicorn replied.
“I’ve already said too much.” I then had to make a quick run towards the exit.
I stretched out my wings and took flight, successfully this time, and made a quick dash towards the hollowed tree. I made it.
“Finally!” I Exclaimed.
Relieved at this I knocked on the door and received an answer not from a unicorn but a dragon.
“Hi there! You look like you’re new around Ponyville, and are probably looking for Twilight?”
“Yes I am. My name’s Crystal. Nice to meet you Spike.”
Spike started blushing. I immediately thought, are you gay or something, but then I remembered not only was I a Pegasus, but also a mare. Spike walked off in the distance and in one hundred percent resemblance to the T.V show, I saw Twilight.
“Hi there Crystal! My name’s Twilight. Did you need some help-HUH?!” She took notice of the necklace around my neck. “Crystal, where did you get that necklace?!” Shortly after I explained that I was not a Mare, but in fact, a Human, she did not understand what a human was, but she knew that I was not from Equestria.
“Listen Crystal. I need to do some research on this. Come see me tomorrow morning and then we’ll talk some more. Until then, why don’t you take a look around Ponyville?” It was 1pm.
“But I need answers!” I said shocking both Twilight and Spike by how I whined about it.
“So do I,” she replied, “but answers don’t come in an instant. Go and speak to Applejack in sweet apple acres. She might have room for you to stay there a night or two, and one more thing. You had better keep that necklace with you in case anything goes wrong,” said Twilight.
"Bye, I’ll see you later!" said spike.
I immediately look into the sky and curse. I tried to pull a cheesy smile but it just felt weird. I looked back once again. "Why am I a mare?" I said quietly.
I simply looked back and started trotting off to the Red barn she had pointed to. I took Pinkie Pie’s advice and went to sugarcube corner. It was an interesting little place made of ginger bread. What is this, I thought. I poked my head around the door and noticed a pony with what seemed to be a swirl of frosting on her head.
“Well hello dear. My name is Mrs. Cake. I’ve never seen you around here before, are you new?”
I replied “Yes. I am fairly new here. Some blur of a pony named Pinkie Pie said I should come past here.”
“She was right. Every new pony in Ponyville will get one free cake.” To my excitement, I quickly squeezed my face against the glass showing all the cupcakes and cakes there; they all looked so, so delicious I chose the Bright blue one ironically, which was the same color as my mane.
“It’s always nice to have a new girl around town.” I tried to smile but it only made me remember I was a mare. Luckily, I had a cupcake, and that kept me happy. As I went to the front door, I was confronted by Pinkie Pie again.
“Oh hi.” I said.
She replied hastily, “Quickly! Run! My tail is shaking, MY TAIL IS SHAKING!” She bolted inside and hid under a bed. “You’re random,” I said out loud. As soon as I got outside, I got hit in the face by a potted plant, which had just fallen off a windowsill.
“OWW,” I cried. I quickly got moving.
I had reached Sweet Apple Acres like Twilight had told me to. Almost immediately, I was greeted by an orange pony with a brown hat
“Howdy! Name’s Applejack. You new around these here parts?” I was beginning to get tired of the same question over and over again.
“Yes, my name’s Crystal”. Without noticing, I was starting to forget about my human life.
“Twilight said you might have a place to stay a night or two,” I quickly said.
“Well sure I do. You’re welcome to stay as long as you like, but first you gotta meet the apple family.” You guessed it. Just like Twilight did, I met Big Macintosh, Apple Bloom, and Granny Smith as well. A couple of hours passed, and I then realized parts of my human life were starting to fade away from my memory. I jumped on a nice soft bed, remembering all the strange things I had done that day. I then looked at my hooves remembering my hands. I was slightly disappointed but also.......slightly happy.
