Chapter Thirteen: Them Eyes...

The portal stood before me, rippling and pulsating its swirled reds and purples. I was confused, to say the least. The one portal, transported through three dimensions? How?

I was originally going to send the mares home, but now I wasn't sure how to get them home. They just continued to stare at me, as if I were about to fix it, and it wasn't helping me. The very fact that we made it through the portal the first time confused me a little, but then again, it was either here or The Overworld. Of course, we got stuck with the shitty outcome.

I thought, and I thought hard. The purple portal is what I usually used, so would that take me from The Nether to The Overworld. If so, then I'm guessing that the red coloured portal took me to Equestria... Satisfied with my logic, I looked towards the three girls. "I think we go through the red one," I spoke.
"Wait, so you don't know?!" Twilight asked, astounded.
"Of course he knew, right?" Rainbow Dash said, flying up to my side and nudging me with her shoulder.
"Yeah," I uttered hesitantly, "of course..."
"I guess we're mighty fine lucky that you're here to guide us around this crazy place, huh?" Applejack murmered, scared of angering another of the giant, floating jellyfish.
"Yeah, totally," I said, thinking carefully about what came out of my mouth.

Jumping back in fright, a large flash filled the caverns of The Nether, and illuminated the place like the sun would. Looking back towards the portal, I saw that the fabric of it had turned from red to purple. Hesitantly, I stepped inside...

Only to be greeted face-first with a blaze. The blaze was a giant, floating being that you'd never want to meet alone. These little buggers will throw fireballs at you until you stop moving. The worst part? They can float.

Once I realised what I was looking at, I sliced that little bitch right in the face with my diamond sword, causing a bright, fluorescent, yellow blood to pour from its wound. Seeing it conjure up a fireball, I sliced the being from head to toe with all of my might, causing it to give off a squelching sound as the two halves of its body fell apart from each other. Walking over towards the corpse, I looted what was left of its blood in a jar, and took its blaze rods as well. Those will come in real handy! But I'm forgetting the real reason I came here: Cuboid.

Looking around for her, I saw that we were on a small chunk of land, surrounded by a huge fissure. Looking over into the distance towards my house, all that I saw was lava. I think I almost cried then, but I held the tears in and made my way around the small chunk of land. Sure enough, Cuboid was lying on the edge of the island by the portal. I rushed over and grabbed her, ignoring the three quizzical girls behind me.

Looking back at the world, I feel that I died inside. The trees bore no leaves, and were completely dead, not a single patch of green in sight. The rivers and oceans visible from here didn't give a pure, crystal water, but instead gave a browny-black sludge. No wonder the trees were all dead.

The sky was a musky greyish-brown, and held a darkish-red layer of clouds, that seemed to be hovering right above us. The grass was pretty much all dead, and the dirt was cracked and dry. The entire place looked like an apocalyptic wasteland...

Something glinted in the distance, and I squinted to see just what it could have been. My vision adjusting, the first thing that I saw was two white, glowing eyes.

I'm pretty sure that I had a panic attack after that. As soon as I saw him, I rushed through the portal like a mad-man, Cuboid still in my grasp, and collapsed unconscious...

Why? Why, Herobrine?

Opening my eyes, I saw that I was outside somewhere. Outside? That was good. The sun was round, meaning that this was probably Equestria, and that I wasn't dead yet. Herobrine... The name sickened me to the point of disbelief. Why must he continue to haunt me?

"He's awake!" I heard someone shout. I pulled myself up off of the gravelly road, and onto my feet in an attempt to see my saviour. Of course, it was Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Twilight. It also looked as if Fluttershy had joined the party as well. Was she waiting here all of this time?
"Hello!" I called, waving to the group of four, "What's up?"
"Well..." Twilight began.

This was going to be a long day... Again.

I walked up my stairs, Cuboid in my arms. Upon coming home, I was greeted by a few of the ponies from this morning still floating around. Apparently Vinyl, Derpy and Colgate felt insecure at their places or something... Looking at the clock upon the wall at the top of the stairs, I saw that it was quarter-to-three. Damn. I must've been out for quite a while. Earlier Twilight asked me what had freaked me out. Naturally, I did the right thing: I ignored her.

Placing the unconscious wolf on the bed, I summoned some water from my inventory and have Cuboid a sip. I wasn't allowed to do much, as Fluttershy acted as if she were a hospital ward around Cuboid.

There wasn't much else interesting on that day. Cuboid was locked in my room until I went to bed, then Fluttershy took her, and lay her in a makeshift bed downstairs. The other three ponies, as well as the original six, wished to stay with me again tonight, and me being me, I accepted.

So here we are, sleeping while zombies bash the doors down. I love life...
