//------------------------------// // Chapter Twelve: Feeling The Heat! // Story: My Little Pony: Minecraftian // by SamMaherGamer //------------------------------// Cuboid was not safe. She couldn't be. Cuboid was always hanging around with Pixel; they even teleported together. Something had must've happened, and whatever that bad thing was, I was going to smash it into oblivion. I sprinted around the streets of Ponyville, kicking up clouds of red dust behind me. I could hear a galloping behind me, and looked back. Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Twilight following my tail. Spotting Lemon Quartz at his stall, I pulled to a stop, kicking up more dust and almost scaring the poor stallion. I was surprised that he was out here, the remainder of the carnage still present. "Lemon Quartz!" I shouted, "I need some obsidian, now!" "What's got you so worked up?" He asked, annoyingly trying to start a conversation. "Not now," I panted, "I just need a lot of obsidian!" "Um... Okay," he took his time, "I have some back home, but what do you need it for?" "I said not now," I shook, "Where's your house?" "Er... Other side of the block. It's the yellow one with a mineshaft aside it," he said warily. Looking behind me, I saw that Twilight and Rainbow Dash had run off towards his house. "A-Are you going to pay for it at least?" He asked, annoyed that we would go to take from his house without his permission or guidance. "Yes, yes," I quickly shouted back, "I'll pay you later!" And with that, I ran off towards his house. His house wasn't as far as I thought it would be, and I already saw Twilight levitating a couple of large boulders of obsidian out of the shaft, Rainbow Dash in tow, carrying a much smaller rock out. "So," Twilight said, straining. I felt worried for her, but my adrenaline would not let my feeling interfere, "Where would you like them?" "Just there'll do," I spoke. One side of me said to tell them that I was lying, and to go and get more. The other side of me said that they had done greatly already, and that it should be enough anyway. I agreed with the latter choice. Seeing Twilight drop the large, dark rocks onto the ground outside of Lemon Quartz's house, I walked over and absorbed them into my inventory. I reckon I have enough for what I need to do... Re-summoning the obsidian I had just collected, I ran over to an open spot in the town square, and quickly formed the portal. Due to myself building as fast as I could, the obsidian looked as if it were slightly twisted and withered, giving the portal a spooky feel. Looking back to the six mares, I could see their mildly horrified faces. I couldn't blame them; The portal frame was looking as if it belonged in a horror movie. Swapping the fraction of obsidian that I had left with a torch, I looked at the portal as if it were Herobrine himself. Whatever waited here, I feel I would be scared to find. Bringing the flaming torch down to the lower rim of the frame of the portal, it lit it as if it were wood. The flames crept their way up the sides of the portal, beginning to turn red, and warp and swirl. The colours soon had turned from red to purple, and began to swirl completely, the fire having run its course. But almost suddenly, it changed. It looked like old fashioned television static, where there would be a bright, horizontal line that flashed, and then it was gone. Same thing happened to the portal, but after the 'television static,' it changed back to red. I blinked, confused. But then I realised: that must be Herobrine's doing. I remember when he was at the portal doing some creepy shit to it, when I jumped in. That must be why this is happening. I looked back to the girls. "You coming?" I asked. Twilight seemed to have a determined glimmer in her eyes. "I'll go! Who knows what interesting stuff I could find in there!" She spoke enthusiastically. Twilight looked back at the group expectantly. "I guess I could come with," Rainbow Dash said cooly, dashing to my side. "What cool stuff's in there?" She whispered to me, gesturing back towards the portal. "You'll see," I told her. She was going to get the surprise of her life when she finds out what's actually in there. "I guess I could go too," Applejack informed us, walking to our side. Looking over to the other three, I waited. "No way am I going into there! It's probably full of lava and demonic stone and stuff!" Pinkie said, completely stunning me. Wat? "Don't be silly, Pinkie Pie," Rainbow assured. "Okay. Just don't blame me when your tail burns off!" She sung, walking off to who-knows-where. "Rarity?" Twilight asked expectantly. Nice try... "No, darling. I simply can not go and stray in an alien world without proper protection. I might get all icky!" She said, a poshly sheepish smile on her face. "And I'll take Fluttershy," Applejack uttered flatly, "as a no..." And with that, we all stepped into the portal, steeling ourselves for whatever may lie ahead. "Pinkie was right!" Twilight shouted, causing the gigantic caverns above us to echo. I ran over and quickly clapped a hand over her muzzle. We had just passed through the portal, and they were only able to keep quiet for a few seconds. I feel as if I were babysitting here... "Stay quiet!" I murmured quietly, looking over at the other side of the huge cavern. We were on a sort of cliff face, leaning right above the lake of lava, and I wasn't willing to take any chances. Speaking of chances, what are the chances that a ghast gives up looking for you? Zero to infinity, that's what. The ghast that I was eyeing accross the lava had seen us, and was now advancing and creating a large, explosive fireball in its mouth. "Nice going, Twilight 'Shout-le!" I said, running over and grabbing her, along with Applejack. "Rainbow!" I shouted, gesturing for her to get over here and hide. Too late... Before she could even try to get away, she was pummelled with a large fireball, in which proceeded to explode in an array of warm colours. The girls gasped, running to her aid. Forget her aid! We needed to destroy the source! Running nearby the advancing ghast, I pulled out my sword. This ghast shall not be leaving tonight. Jumping off of the edge of the cliff, I was able to clear the jump, and grab onto one of the ghast's long tentacles. Pulling my sword out, I proceeded to slice the other tentacles, save for mine, the blood oozing slowly right out of them. I noticed the ghast start to fall, and I quickly climbed the tentacle, pinching the flesh between my bulky hands as I made my way up the side of the ghast and onto the top. Jumping, I landed face-first into the cliff and begun to flail, falling. Scraping my hands against the red, rocky wall, I managed to sink my fingers into a crevice in the cliff. Assessing myself, I found that my front was covered in a large graze, my shirt completely ripped open at the front, making it look more like a vest. A quite bloody vest, mind you. I couldn't see the whole of my hands, but from what I could see, they suffered the same fate as my front did. There was something warm flowing from my nose, probably blood, and half of my fingernails were probably broken too... It should only take half of a day to fix. Looking back, I saw the ghast sinking slowly into the lava, its teary eyes looking straight back into my soul, as if it were pleading for help. Trying to shake my mind from it, I heard someone calling. "Twilight?" I called back. I sure hope it was her. "There you are!" She said, her head sticking out from the cliff above me. "Help would be nice," I yelled, trying to be heard over the fizzling and popping of the lava. "Oh, yeah," she said, a strained, sheepish smile on her face. She flew down, grabbed me, then pulled me up again. I was honestly scared when she picked me up. I still will never be able to figure out how she was able to carry me. I weighed a good eighty-five kilograms(about 180lbs) too! Once she had pulled me up, she was suddenly worried about my injuries. I just ignored her and walked over to Rainbow Dash. She was burnt on one side, her wing looking like a bunch charred of charred sticks. She was still conscious as she seemed to watch me as I walked over, but she didn't look too far from the jaws of death. She was grazed across her other side, and her breathing was laboured. My heart felt like it had exploded! Twice! I brought these ponies here, and now look! I was a shit-assed person, and deserved to go and die in a fucking hole... I felt a spark course through my brain, and I got a miraculous idea. Pulling out an apple and some of my gold, I melted all of the gold around the apple, creating a shiny, yellow-looking apple. Twilight, although sad for her friend, was eyeing the apple with curiosity. Applejack just stared. She was a bit too crazy about apples, I think. Putting the apple up to Rainbow's mouth, I stroked her mane. She didn't seem the 'soft' type, but it looked like she needed the comfort anyway. "Eat up," I whispered, allowing her to take a bite from it. Her eyes seemed to widen, even if only the slightest bit, and she strained herself to move her hooves and take the apple from my grasp for herself. She took a few more bites, then ate the core. Talk about liking something, she loved the stuff. She even kept eyeing my hands to see if there was any more. Twilight gasped, and Applejack's jaw fell to bedrock. Rainbow Dash was glowing a bright pinky-purple. Her wing was turning from charcoal to flesh and bone, and was starting to grow new feathers. The grazes on her one side all disappeared, and the burnt side of her body was healing and growing fur again. Twilight's mouth began to open and close like a fish, but nothing came out. Applejack just stood there, frozen. "I think I broke them," I told Rainbow Dash. She just looked at me, confused. I nodded towards her wing, and once she looked, she too had her jaw on the ground. I shook my head slowly. It's way too easy to break these ponies...
