Six days earlier

Two days. Two days it took for Colgate to pass the brutal lessons of flying. Twilight had been teaching her to help pass the time and help Colgate control her wings. Even after they finished there was no reply. The hours had begun to drag on, and finally, finally, four days later Princess Celestia and Princess Luna finally got back to her. Four days of sitting inside and being bored out of her mind, reading, and brushing. 

It was the end of the week, the day almost over now. Twilight had left the house, she'd been gone all day after Colgate proposed they have a contest to see who could brush the longest. She was severely disappointed when she left, leaving her alone yet again. Colgate yawned as she lay on her back staring up at the ceiling, books littered around her. She had become somewhat of a bookworm being trapped inside so long. The day had been dully dragging on, time passed so slow. Colgate just wished Twilight would come home it was so much more fun when there was actually another pony she could communicate with! She was doing some tricks with her horn, yawning softly. Rolling onto her stomach and getting up to her feet, Colgate shot into the air as there was a loud knock on the door that snapped her from her lazy dazed state, rendering her fully awake. Who'd be knocking that loud at this hour?! Why, if she wasn't tired she'd march out there and make him or her brush!

Touching back down to the ground she gulped as she approached the door, jumping back as it swung open, the two princess's of Equestria walked in. Colgate shook and bowed, excitement ran though her. It was about time she was going to be turned back to a normal unicorn! Though being an Alicorn wasn't half bad, the wings were nice and she was capable of tons of new spells! But it would be nice to return to her normal life, back to her job. She couldn't just abandon her workplace, they'd be dead without her! Heck she owned the place! There was no pony in Ponyville and probably Equestria wide that was as talented as she was in dentistry!

Colgate stood up from her bowing. "Well did you two get it?! How do you turn me back!?" She asked impatiently, really wanting to get back to her daily life. Twilights "company" would be missed too, but she felt a little sad the mare hadn't wanted to compete in her brushing contest. It was Celestias younger sister, Luna who first spoke.

"Yes, we have. While flipping through the books of old, we discovered that there is a way thou can return to normal pony form. Thou must travel to the edge of the desert, far, far away. There, a mystical oasis that you bathe in will fade the spell. But, you must go alone. There is.. A flower. When you bathe, and eat this flower, you should change. It cures many many things, it's petals are very useful in curing sickness. Sadly I do not know where it is located. It might not even be there."

Colgate a jaw dropped. Now, since Celestia had messed up, she had to travel across a desert, by herself?! She blinked in disbelief, but when Luna repeated it, a look of seriousness on her face Colgate knew that this wasn't a joke and they meant it! The Alicorn shook her head, no! She couldn't do this! She wasn't the type of pony you sent alone into a desert to do this! But... It was the only way. The only way to return to normal. "You're sure these isn't another way? That I can't have a spell used? Or or or! I could stay an Alicorn and just not go on a mad journey through a desert!"

Luna shrugged. "Does thou wish to stay an Alicorn? And work as a dentist? No offense to thee, but you are a mere dentist. You do not have the strengths of an Alicorn, you posses the wings, no flowing mane, but... Thou has to understand this is for the best.  Unless of course, thou wishes to train under sister for a few weeks to get you prepared. Along with that would come a royal announcement for ponies to learn of your new title Colgate."

Colgate thought hard. Now, being a princess of teeth seemed great! A princess to remind them all to brush and floss, to show everypony of Equestria they had to take care of their teeth! Business would boom for dentistry, ponies everywhere would love her for showing them the greatness of good teeth! Well hopefully. Plus it'd drum up tons of business for her old work place! She could be like Twilight! Her choice was made quickly. "I'd like to train, to become an alicorn." 

Current time

Colgates week had been quick. The rest of the week had flown by, she was drunk with the power that would come. It would be great showing everypony she wasn't just a simple old dentist. No pony in Ponyville took brushing seriously and having a princess who was... Well the princess of dentistry and all, joke as it may seem, would probably help out with getting everypony to brush. Every pony would love brushing! Dentistry would be as important as the sun and moon! Her silly dream of making ponies everywhere nearly worship brushing clouded her normal thought, if she was herself she'd never be here! Here, as in standing in the gardens behind canterlot castle, so early the sun hadn't risen yet. Colgate shivered as the wind blew at her, the moons was slowly setting down, Celestia Would raise her mighty warm sun soon, and she'd be glad for that! The night was great, but Colgate preferred being warmed by the sun! A blinding flash spread across the nation, the sun peaking out, casting the few first streams of light across the lands.
