After retrieving and storing the Talisman of Legends in the Portal of Power's storage compartment, the Skylanders decided to go on with their daily lives and wait for the call for action once again. Zook worked alone at the flower shop because Camo had to tend to a vegetable garden that he set up at Fluttershy's in order to feed her critters. Trigger Happy worked with Pinkie Pie at Sugarcube Corner while Terrafin spent his time at Sweet Apple Acres with the Apple family. The Apple family even recognized Terrafin as a good apple bucker or apple puncher since he uses his fists to harvest apples. As for Equestria's Purple Dragon, Spike, he sat by the lake and reflected on all of the events that occurred. He smiled,

"Because of what we did, there was peace and harmony. No matter what the evil doers intend on making lives hard, we will bring the peace." He noticed Rarity towing an empty wagon, he suspected that she was going for a gem hunt in the mining grounds. He spread his wings and flew over to her and asked,

"Hey, Rarity, do you mind if I joined you...." He stuttered, "Well, on your gem hunt?"

Rarity replied, "I would be delighted that you joined me. In fact, I also asked Sparx to help as well." The Dragonfly buzzed beside her, "Well, Spike, I guess you're joining or what?"

Spike nodded as he joined Rarity and Sparx on the gem hunt. 

As they arrived at the mining fields, Spike looked at the landscape and noticed that it never seen any mining since Cloudbreak Islands Incident. Spike asked Sparx, 

"You are an expert on finding gems, right?"

Sparx put a thumbs up, "That's what I'm here for, buddy."

Spike pointed, "We should start over there and work our way across." He turned to Rarity, "If you don't mind."

Rarity replied, "Its a wonderful idea, Spike." She told the Dragonfly, "Guide us, Sparx."

Sparx clapped his hands together, "No arguing over that." He buzzed off with Spike and Rarity following him. Spike and Rarity followed the Dragonfly as the bug stopped as his body sparked uncontrollably as he said,

"I got a fresh cache here." Rarity used her magic to reveal what was underneath until she saw something that she wasn't expecting. As she X-rayed the ground beneath them, they discovered a Silver Ankh with a blue gem in the center, along with something that looked like a shrine with multiple gems attached to it. Rarity motioned to Spike to use his Earth Ability to dig down to what they saw. Spike focused all of his energy to his core, spat out a green ball of energy and slammed it on the dig site, removing a chunk of dirt in the way. He formed into an Earth ball and used it to dig the rest of the way. It wasn't until he said with a big thump,

"Guys, I hit something!"

The Unicorn and the Dragonfly looked at what they unearthed. It was indeed a shrine, and there was a statue that was covered in dirt. After Spike cleared out the dirt covering the statue, he remembered seeing a figure like that before.....along with three foals and a hatchling. Spike's eyes widen, 

"Its a Statue of Master Eon when he was still human."

Sparx asked, "But, what of the three foals and hatchling?"

Rarity thought she saw something like the hatchling before, "I think I know who the hatching statue is." She pointed to the small pointy ears, the Unicorn horn and the feathery wings, Spike realized what Rarity was saying,

"That's......Whirlwind as a hatchling. She must've been predestined to become a Skylander."

Rarity replied, "But we don't know. We need to tell somepony about this." She turned to Sparx, "Sparx, can you head back to Ponyville and tell Twilight that we found something?"

Sparx saluted, "I'm on my way!" He speeds off as Spike looks at the Silver Ankh that was with the shrine. Rarity said,

"Spike, be careful with that ankh." Spike placed a claw on the ankh and nothing happened. Spike said,

"The Ankh was buried with this shrine, but for what purpose?"

It wasn't until the ankh began to glow and slip out of his claws and on to the Eon Statue. That's when he pulled the dragon in as he was levitated in the air without use of his wings. Rarity yelled,

"SPIKEY!!!" In Spike's head, he became flooded with strange images, noises and voices that he doesn't recognize. It was being filled into his head from the statue and after it was done, the shrine repulsed him out of the hole as it began to calm down. Rarity came to Spike as he slipped into unconsciousness, she said,

"Spike, are you okay? Spike? Spike, please don't leave me!" Sparx arrived, along with Twilight, who brought her sister/variant, Ali Twilight with her. Sparx asked,

"Okay, what did you two do while I was gone?"

Rarity looked at the shrine, "Spike investigated the ankh until it went to the statue on its own. The Shrine pulled Spike to it, he was suspended in the air for a few minutes until it repelled him out of the hole."

Twilight looked at the shrine and then back at the unconscious Spike, "I think that the statue had Spike suspended in the air for something.....but what did it want with him?"

Ali Twilight told Twilight, "We need to get this shrine to the Library, plus, Spike needs medical attention."

Twilight replied, "I know. Let's get the Shrine out of the hole and carry it back."

The Twilight Sisters used their magic to lift the Shrine out of the hole while Rarity used the wagon to carry an unconscious Spike back to Ponyville. Whatever Spike did, it might be hard to translate what he obtained. 

 After bringing the shrine into the Library, Twilight and Ali Twilight needed to find out what was going on and the only way to do that is unlock the secret behind the shrine. But one of the smaller statues besides the hatchling caught Twilight in a sort of familiar glance. Twilight asked,

"Is it me or do I see myself as a foal on that statue?"

Ali Twilight looked at Twilight and one of the statues, "That's you, and a spitting image as well."

Twilight asked, "What did I have to do with the shrine?"

The Alicorn replied, "I don't know, but we plan to find out."

Twilight went to the door, "We better tell the others that Spike is in the hospital. We'll find out more about the shrine later."

Ali Twi nodded, "And we can find out what Spike obtained from the shrine." 

 After rounding up the others, they went to the Ponyville Hospital to see Spike. When they reached his room, they saw Rarity by his side as he lies unconscious as Twilight asked,

"What's the damage?"

The doctor replied, "Physically, he's fine, but I detected some unusual brain activity. Whatever he did to get him into this situation might've caused his brain activity."

Applejack asked, "What exactly happened to him, Twilight?"

Twilight replied, "He was on a gem hunt with Rarity and Sparx when they suddenly unearthed a shrine that had the statue of Master Eon. Sparx told me that once he left, Spike did something that ended up levitating him in the air because of the shrine. After that, he was repelled out of where they unearthed it and he was unconscious." 

Rainbow Dash said, "Well, the dragon must've gotten hard by whatever that shrine was."

Fluttershy noticed movement on the hospital bed, "He's waking up."

The seven ponies gathered around as Spike woke up. He was rubbing his head and his horns, flexed his wings out to see no damage, and then asked,

"How long was I out?"

Twilight replied, "You were out for a couple of hours."

Spike replied, "Anything that happened when I was unconscious?"

Ali Twilight spoke, "The Doctor told us that your brain was in an unusual state. Did you see anything before you blacked out?"

Spike paused for a moment and explained, "Just before everything went black, I had some sort of vision. It looked like a couple of images, but they were too fast for me to identify any of it, but I manage to notice one."

Rarity asked, "What did you notice?"

Spike turned to her, "I saw myself in the Harmonic Armor and you. And from what it looked, it was going to be a battle if I morphed into Harmonic Spike."

Twilight took note on everything Spike said about his vision and realized, "If you had a vision when you were repelled from the pit, it could only mean that the vision came from that shrine."

Spike nodded, "The vision did come from that shrine, but its the four small statues that were with the shrine. I recognized one as Whirlwind and the other three...."

Twilight interrupted, "One of the statues is actually me as a foal."

Applejack asked, "What in the name of apple is goin on?"

Ali Twilight spoke, "We'll show you at the Library, the shrine is safe there. But we have to send a letter to Master Eon about the shrine." 

After checking Spike out of the hospital, the eight Equestrian Skylanders made their way back to the library where they saw the Eon Shrine sitting in near the shelves as Rainbow Dash asked Rarity,

"So, you and Spike found this thing buried in the ground?"

Rarity nodded as she said, "Sparx the Dragonfly actually sensed it because of his talent."

As all eight looked at the statues, Rainbow Dash and Applejack gazed at the two statues of a Pegasus foal and Earth Pony foal, they were curious until they had a flashback of their foal pictures and Rainbow Dash realized,

"Those two statues are....."

Applejack finished, "Me and RD as foals!"

Ali Twilight was suspicious of this turn of events, "Why would a Master Eon Shrine have the statues of Whirlwind, Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Applejack as foals and hatchling?"

Applejack replied, "Ah'll bet our families are hiding something."

Rainbow Dash replied, "I know that my Aunt and Uncle ran away to Skylands so they can start a new life, but this is something new."

Twilight said, "We got to find out about those statues and Spike's visions."

Spike nodded, "I need to go find Whirlwind so we can tell her about this shrine..."He twitched as his eyes began to glow a different color. He asked as his eyes returned to normal, "What's happening to me?"

Twilight replied, "Its the visions, Spike. There might also be an answer to the statues." They sent a letter to Master Eon about finding a shrine that had his former self as a statue and told him about Spike's visions. But after they sent the letter to Eon, all they had to do now is wait for a reply from the Alicorn Portal Master. But in all of their waiting, Spike disappeared. 

 Spike wandered through the streets of Ponyville and remembered seeing everything at peace because of what they have done to prevent chaos in Ponyville. He was soon hit by another vision that showed a fiesta in the catacombs of great mountain. After that vision, he was still wondering how to solve the pieces of the puzzle in his head. But he needed to return to the same place that he was at before going on that gem hunt. He returned to the lake where he can find out how to solve the vision. 

 Back at the Library, they noticed Spike's disappearance after Rainbow Dash came back with Whirlwind in tow. Twilight asked, 

"None of you saw Spike leave?"

Pinkie Pie appeared out of nowhere, "I saw him leave, but it was only briefly after he ran." Pinkie's tail began to twitch, "My Pinkie Sense is going crazy, and its not because of Spike's visions."

Whirlwind was about to ask until a letter materialized in her rainbow magic, she opened the letter and read,

"To my faithful ponies,
I was told by Master Eon about Spike's visions and I know where Spike would go if there is something bothering him. He would always sit by the lake so he could clear his thoughts on the events that occurred, but he wouldn't do that because of the visions. But he still doesn't know that dragons have the ability to see visions, but it would require a pool of water. Meet me at the lake.

Your Portal Master, Princess Celestia."

Whirlwind paused then continued, "This letter is from Princess Celestia. She wants us to meet her by the lake."

Twilight replied, "Well, we should head there right now."

 As Spike looked at his reflection in the water, he felt like he was missing something. He felt sad because of his visions, and he can't unlock the full picture when there was a lot of pictures in his visions. It wasn't until he saw another reflection of a familiar pony, he turned his attention at his visitor, revealing to be Princess Celestia. He asked,

"Mom, what are you doing here?"

Celestia replied, "I came to help you with your visions. I already told the others about where you are."

Spike realized this and smiled, "Maybe that's what I was missing. I was missing my friends when I disappeared on them."

After the others arrived and Celestia told him how dragons can see into the future, but for Spike, it required some help. Celestia merged her powers with Spike as she dipped her horn into the water. The water started to glow and began to change its shape into an image that showed what Spike was seeing. The Princess looked,

"I see you, standing at the base of...." She paused and thought, 'That can't be right.' She continued, "The Tree of Harmony."

Spike asked, "What's the Tree of Harmony?"

Princess Celestia replied, "Its a powerful tree that Luna, Fausticorn and I discovered years ago. From there, Fausticorn used her magic to create the Elements of Harmony and because of her fascination in Dragons, created the Harmonic Armor."

Spike looked at the image again as it began to add more images to it, "Its not just me standing at the base of the tree, its me fighting Malefor in a final confrontation at the tree."

Twilight noticed, "So its a chance that Malefor would reappear in Equestria."

Celestia replied, "It could happen, but I know the tree's location, its completely safe, for now."

Spike noticed the images forming into something new, "What's happening to it now?" They all looked at the images forming into something peculiar until it showed a few characters that were recognizable. Whirlwind noticed,

"That's me.....as a hatchling...and Rainbow Dash as a newborn foal."

Celestia took out four frames to give to Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Whirlwind, "Your parents wanted to give you four these when you were older." All four looked at the frames and noticed the similarities and realized that it was taken at the Ponyville Hospital that's when the four looked at each other and Whirlwind said,

"We were born on the same day."

Twilight replied, "And our families have kept this secret from us."

Applejack spoke, "And our parents were friends with each other.

Rainbow Dash spoke, "And If we were born on the same day...."

Celestia finished, "That means that there is bond that the four of you now share."

Spike smiled at this as the images on the lake switched into one final image, he looked at it,

"Its a fiesta in the catacombs of a once great mountain that used to be draped in shadow. Now its a place for the undead."

Ali Twilight remembered hearing about that mountain and said, "The Mountain of Malefor or to some others its called 'The Well of Souls' It used to be a placed where spirits roamed around on the Night of Eternal Darkness, but after Malefor was freed the entire mountain collapsed. Now the Undead use the catacombs as a home. Its what I learned from the archives at Eon's Citadel."

Spike spoke, "And there is another image, and its one that we are familiar with." The vision shifted and saw the host which was the same skeleton that attacked Ponyville on New Year's eve. Rainbow Dash recognized it,

"Count Moneybone?" 

Spike replied, That is him, but I don't think he would strike back anytime soon. But we still need to keep vigilant."

The images faded as the water returned to normal. Spike looked at his friends and said,

"I think this is what I was missing, the company of my friends..." He looked at Celestia, "And family."

They all group hugged as Celestia horn began to glow bright as the sun sets over the lake, keeping the balance of day and night to their planet.
