//------------------------------// // Feeling the Love Tonight. // Story: Thirty Minute Sparity Prompts: from SparityLoveisForever // by SparityLoveisForever //------------------------------// Spike had left Rarity a note with her mail today. A special scroll leaving instructions for her to see him that evening at nine in Ponyville park. He was wearing a particular gem encrusted bow-tie when he arrived very early to wait around for her. He wanted to make sure the bridge over one of the reflective lakes was his for the evening. He just watched and waited very patiently. He had to talk to Rarity, and as the hours passed he could see the sunset start to shine off the beautiful pool of water before him. The moments ticking by with his heart beating in anticipation. Soon the moon was raising and he continued to look around and wait for the beautiful mare to arrive. Spike waited there starting to wonder if she had even read the letter. Time continued to tick by and then the clock tower sounded it's bell nine times. He looked around hoping to see any sign of the pristine white pony who filled his heart with love. He was so busy checking one side, entirely he missed when Rarity moved up behind him. She tapped him on the shoulder with her hoof, smiling down at him brightly, “Spike, you needed to say something to me.” Spike was taken by surprise from the sudden physical contact he turned around his purple scales flushing a bit as he looked up at her. “Erm... Um, yes, Rarity. I wanted to say something...” Spike was about to continue when Rarity stopped him for a moment much like she had when they were falling. “Spike, Twilight came by my boutique today. She said something to me too.” “I get the feeling I know what she said. She wants you to let me down easy. I just, don't want to not say it though. Please, Rarity, let me tell you how I feel.” Spike looked into her eyes so glad she had came. Spike eyes, the bright green emeralds, Rarity found so fascinating at times. She looked down at him and brought her hooves around him in a hug and whispered, “Yes she did. I told her she has no right to tell me what to do, Spike. If you really feel this way though, we need to keep it between us for now. You need to be Twilight's assistant, and I need to follow my dreams. We can't hold each other back my, Spikey Wikey.” Spike loved the shimmering sapphires Rarity called eyes and the look from them told him it was true. She held him tenderly, as he moved his claws to hold her back he moved himself back so he could look into her eyes again and then whispered, “I love you, Rarity.” He then moved his scaly lips up to hers and kissed her softly as the moon silhouetted them against the backdrop of the reflecting pool. Rarity didn't back away and together they kissed under the moonlight. She held Spike in her hooves stroking his spines gently. Spike couldn't feel better as the pair were entwined in a tender moment. She was the one to break the kiss and she looked down at him she said, “I love you too, Spike.” The pair walked off from the bridge together where Spike proceeded to walk Rarity home and gave her one last farewell kiss at the front door of Carousel Boutique. Spike continued on to start dancing his way home feeling lighter than air as he made his way down the roads of Ponyville. Nothing could weigh him down right now it felt like. He moved with deft and grace and was soon back inside the library. He quickly headed right up the stairs, he moved into the bathroom to brush his teeth so he could keep up with the proper hygiene his lady deserved, and then went straight to bed without even saying a word to Twilight. Rarity after closing the door to Carousel Boutique sighed wistfully and pulled over her feinting couch to lay on. Spike was so much more than any stallion, and he was just the most perfect little gentledrake. She could never do anything to harm him. She had been quite upset with Twilight for telling her where her feelings on the matter lied. After all it's not her place to decide when two love each other. If anypony had that kind of power it was Princess Cadence. "Maybe I should write her a letter," thought Rarity. Dear Princess Cadence, I'm know your not usually someone who might get letters like this, but I feel as one of Twilight's friends I should tell you over anypony else. I wanted to inform you first that I feel I have come to fall in love with her dear assistant. The hero who you so bravely helped to save the Crystal Empire. Rarity is my name, I designed your wedding dress. I just felt that you would know much more about the feelings of the heart than Twilight. She tried to tell me, I was to just let him down easily, that it would ruin my career, that it wasn't the best for him or me, that he will live long past my time and leaving him with a broken heart. While what she may have said was factually true, I feel it would be a blemish on both of us if we didn't at least try. We're in each others hearts, and as I understand true love can conquer any obstacle. For right now things have to stay the way they are, but I want you to be clear with her if you could tell her I have no intention of leading him down a path where he ends up worse for out time together. I'm sure she'd appreciate your input on the matter more than mine at the moment. Thank you. Sincerly, Rarity
