Reunion: the Story of Storm Flare

by Storm Flare

Chapter 2

A few days later, Storm was feeling better and fully powered again. Storm was at his day job working as a Equestrian Weather Patrol pony, the only line of work that would accept him, when he noticed Thunder with a snowflake situation.

“Need some help, Thunder?” Storm asked.

“Oh, no. I got this.” Thunder answered stressfully, trying to fix a messed up snowflake.

“That doesn’t look like “having this” Thunder. Let me help you.”

Thunder looked at him intensely but eventually let him take over. “I don’t understand, why can’t I do anything right?” she said putting herself down. Storm looked at her.

“Don’t say that. Everypony makes mistakes sometimes." Storm told her, "Unless your Derpy of course. Than you make mistakes almost every time."

Thunder and Storm giggled at that comment and than Thunder said, "Thanks Storm. You’re the greatest colt I know.”

“Aww, it’s nothing. You just need some practice is all. I mean, it’s only your 1st week working here. I made plenty of mistakes when I started. I better get back to work. See ya.”

“Bye Storm.” Thunder said, looking at him heading back to his station.

After work Storm Decided to go to Sugarcube Corner in Ponyville for some cupcakes. He didn't like being outside of Cloudsdale, where he was born and grew up, but from time to time, he would visit the earth ponies land. As he was walking to Sugarcube Corner though, he ran into Runner and Strike.

"Hey guys," Storm said, "what are you two doing here?"

"We came down here to get some cupcakes from Pinkie Pie." Strike said. "Why are you down here?"

"I came down here to get some cupcakes too for Thunder and I tomorrow. I love Pinkie's cupcakes." Storm answered.

"Thunder, eh?" Runner added.

"Yeah, she and I are...." Storm was interrupted by the sounds of flapping from behind. When he turned around, he saw a grey skinned pegasus mare with blonde hair landing with a message in her mouth. "I brought you a letter, Storm!" she mumbled.

"Thanks, Derpy." said Storm taking the letter from her. Derpy smiled gleefully and took off.

"What is it, Storm?" Runner asked.

"I don't know, lemme see..." Storm began to open the letter and read aloud.

Dear Storm,
I was wondering if you would like to go to the Everfree
Forest and go on an adventure with me. I think it might
be fun. If you want to meet me at the entrance to the
forest at 5:00 p.m. Hope I see you there.
Sincerely,
Thunder Dancer

"Ooo, she wants to go on a date with you, Storm." Runner said.

"A date? In the Everfree Forest? Are you sure?" Storm said sarcastically.

"Well duh, you have to be stupid to not notice that she wants you."
"She doesn't want me, she just wants to spend time with me."

"Alone."

"So?"

"Why else would she want to spend time with you alone? Face it, she likes you. She has been all over you since you got your cutie mark. Which if you ask me sounds a bit shallow."

"Shut up." Storm said. Before the argument could have continued on, Storm was off to the Everfree Forest entrance to meet up with Thunder.
