Chapter Eight: Gold!

Herobrine was angry. Very angry. That confounded player had managed to get away from him! The fact that he had used one of Herobrine's own monsters' products to escape him infuriated him. Players weren't allowed to get away from him, and never have! So why was this one human able to escape his plans? Perhaps there was a bug in the world...

And these 'ponies' that helped him only fuelled Herobrine's fire. Why do they help him? He's a weak warrior, not a friend. Yet still, Herobrine could see him talking to the NPCs of this place and having a great time.

Herobrine had follower the 'player' into the portal once it had left. He followed the player around, readying for the 'destiny.' He knew it had to happen, yet he didn't want it to happen. He could have annihilated it quickly yesterday, but he had been foolish enough as to play with his prey. Now he had to do it later, just not yet. They were equal at the moment, but give it some time, and the 'player' will be at its weakest, and that's when Herobrine will strike! The thing was, until then, Herobrine was still going to try and destroy everything that the infernal human lived for...

I knocked at the door wildly. It was almost night, and it was one and three quarters of an hour ago, that I had said that I was going to build a house, but i said that i was going to build it in two hours. The six mares had seen me break the laws of physics on multiple occasions, yet wouldn't believe me when I said I'd build a house tonight. It only took me a time-defying five minutes, to create all of the furniture for my house. It is a much better house than I used to have too, so...

The mares were still in Twilight's house, I hope. My question was answered as Twilight opened the door. She smirked. "Couldn't do it, huh? And now I'm betting you need a place to stay the night, correct?" She said, grinning.
"Incorrect," I spoke flatly, causing Twilight's smile to fly out the window.
"What!?" I heard a tomboyish voice come from inside. Sticking her head out of the door, she looked from side, then eying me, let loose a squeak like a fangirl.
"You built the house, in two hours?" She asked, a glimmer in her eyes.
"Well... Not really," I said, causing Twilight's frown to raise upwards slightly, "I actually built the house in an hour and a half. The fifteen to thirty other odd minutes was me painting, making furniture and walking here. Oh! And I spoke with the locals!" I said, causing Twilight to open her eyes in shock.
"W-What!?" She stammered. You know, I just loved getting on this pony's nerves.
"I said, I spoke with the locals," I repeated, my 'inner smile' beaming so hard, it would make the sun proud.
"You can't just 'speak' with the locals!" She said, "You'll get yourself in trouble!"
"Does it look like I'm in shackles, Twilight? Besides, they were nice to talk to," I told, before summoning a broad handful of gold, "I was actually thinking of taking you guys out for dinner I met a guy who owned one of the local restaurants here, and offered me a reservation for tonight. Does gold work as a currency here?" I asked.
It took a few seconds for Twilight to snap out of her daze, before replying, "Not really. We use 'bits,'" she said, a wry smile on her face. She really does care at times. "But there's a stallion who likes to buy and sell minerals at one of the stalls in Ponyville. Gold here in Equestria doesn't cost too much, but will sell at around thirty bits per ingot. You want me to take you there now?" She asked. I was going to reply with a snarky comment reminding her that I wasn't a little child, but I honestly didn't know the way, and I was still wary around the civilians here.
"Yeah, sure. Why not?"

The stallion was just sitting at stall when we saw him. The marketplace was almost empty now, and he was one of the only ones still here. It almost reminded me of an abandoned NPC village.

"Hello, Lemon Quartz!" Twilight shouted, trotting over to his stall. It was a small wagon, housing a wide range of gemstones and minerals. A lot of the things I could see were either unknown, or glowing. Or both...

"Good evening, Princess," the old, yellow-coated pony bowed. Was Twilight a princess? Why didn't she tell me earlier?!
"Oh, Lemon Quartz," Twilight sighed, "You don't have to address me royally," Obviously her statement didn't change anything, as the pony before her only lowered his head more. Twilight sighed once again. "Arise," she said glumly, and to my surprise, he did exactly that. Pulling his head from the floor, I was able to see him more clearly.

He had a faded yellow coat and a white mane that hung beside his face in bundles. He bore a butt-tattoo of a piece of bluish gemstone behind a magnifying glass.

"What can I do for you today?" He asked rather politely.
"I was wondering if you'd like to buy some minerals off of my friend here," she exclaimed with a forced smile, pushing me towards the stallion with her telekinesis. The guy just went wide eyed in shock at the sight of me, but the reaction left as quickly as it came.
"Ah," he said, "You must be the creature that the towns been talking about! You know, it took me almost a year to have my house built, yet yours only took hours," he claimed, smiling happily.
"Oh, that's a shame," I spoke, "Sorry that your house took so long to build," I don't know why I was sorry. It wasn't my fault nor my responsibility in any way.
"Oh, that's all right! What happened back in the past can stay back in the past," he croaked slightly, "What were you willing to sell me?" The elder pony asked.
"Want any gold?" I asked. He nodded, asking me to show him some of the gold.

Pulling the gold from my inventory, I revealed it to him. He almost reeled away at my 'magic,' but then remembered the stories from his other friends. Plucking the neatly constructed gold ingot from my hand, and inspecting it with a seemingly large magnifying glass.

After minutes of inspection, he placed the ingot down on the stall's table. "I can get you about thirty-two bits an ingot. How many do you have?" He questioned.
I have about fifty-six, but I wish to split it, and sell you twenty-eight of them," I replied. I'll still need some of them for my own uses.
"That's a lot of ingots!" The stallion exclaimed, "That'll give you eight-hundred and seventy-nine bits! You're just lucky that I have that much on me!" He joked. I smiled at his antics; He was a nice guy. "Can I please see the ingots?" He asked. I nodded in approval, and summoned all of the gold from my inventory, placing it on the table of the stall. The old pony's eyes widened. After a while he started to count out the bits.

Turning to Twilight, I found that she wasn't by my side anymore. She had walked over to another one of the stalls and was looking at some of the quills that they seemed to be selling. I smiled. It was rare for me of all people to catch a glimpse of her enthusiastic side, and I must say that it is rather cute when she is seeking new information. Her eyes widen and she smiles one of the biggest smiles I've ever seen... Ever.

I heard a coughing noise and turned back to the stallion. Lemon Quartz, I believe it was. Apparently he had finished counting out the bits. They were all in a pile on the counter, and I merely touched one of them, pulling them all into my inventory. Lemon Quartz, once again, looked in awe.
"Thanks, Lemon Quartz. See you later!" I shouted, turning and walking towards Twilight, waving back to Lemon Quartz.
"Goodbye!" I heard him say behind me. Nice guy.

"Twilight!" I shouted. She looked as if she was about to buy a crate of goods from the stall.
"Yeah?" She asked. I walked up to her.
"I'm ready to get back to the library," I told her, "What are you getting?"
"Some quills and parchment. How'd you go?"
"Not too bad. I earned eight-hundred and seventy-nine bits," I said.
"What!? Do you realise how much that is?" She spoke, almost as shocked as she was when I told her I was able to build the house in two hours. I've still got to show her that, too.
"I'm guessing its a lot?" I asked.

This was going to be a long night...

The town was starting to turn an orange hue when we got back. The sun was setting, and the ponies inside of Twilight's library were chatting away.

"Hey, everypony!" Twilight said, walking in through the door, "We're back!"
"Hey," I added, walking in after her and shutting the door behind me, "We might want to leave for dinner early, before it gets too dark." I said, causing the other five ponies to give me a questioning look. It wasn't going to get completely dark for about an hour or too. So we should be good before then. But afterwards, it would be too dark to see anything. I'm sure Twilight knows a light spell, and I still have about three odd torches left.

We all left Twilight's and headed off to the restaurant that the pony that I had talked to earlier had reserved a table at. It was at the other side of town, so we had enough time for a small chat. "So," Pinkie Pie said, "where are we going?"
"We're going to go to-" I was cut off by an increasing, croaky roar. Only one thing was aero make such a paralysing noise:

"Endermen..." I uttered grimly.
