A Simple Repair
Part 3: Unwanted

I was released form the hospital a week later I still couldn't fly or work effectively. That wasn't what bothered me I needed to apologize to Twilight and Rainbow for my behavior on that day. "First Twilight I did throw a vase at her." I said to myself with a sigh.
As I walked up to the Library I stopped in front of the door I hit the doorbell and waited. I saw a boy with green hair and a tail open the door. "A dragoon?" I asked myself confused.
"Can I help you sir?" The boy asked with a smile.
"Yea I need to speak with Miss Sparkle can you get her for me?" I asked and he nodded showing me inside as he ran off to go get Twilight. As she walked down the stairs she saw me and glared at me. I raised my hands defensively. "I'm not here to fight I'm here to surrender and apologize for what I said and how I acted." I said calmly her glare softened but didn't leave her.
"I'm listening." She said coldly.
"I know you can't forgive me for what I said or did to you or to Rainbow. I also know you won't no matter what I say." I sighed looking at the ground. "You were right I was a fool for challenging Rainbow to an Altitude climb but on the subject of my past... You were wrong on all accounts you weren't there you don't know who really did the modifications to the wings." I said looking up. "But still my behavior was still unacceptable in any situation so I apologize for my ignorance and I was in the wrong for everthing I did." I said with a bow which hurt everything I looked up to be met with a book across the face which knocked me over.
"I will accept your apology but for putting Rainbow in danger you have to get her forgiveness not mine." She said coldly but then she smiled. "She has been using your canyon tracks for practice all week and has been doing altitude training as well so she could beat you." Twilight helped me up and showed me out. "Go talk to her and keep your guard up she wants to beat you to a pulp." Twilight said closing the door I gulped in fear.
"Whelp if I'm gonna die I wanna be killed by a beautiful woman." I said with a chuckle making my way to my shop.

I arrived at my shop I set down what was left of my gear on my work bench I took out the amplifiers and put them into another set of black wings my spare set. I looked over to see my old military set the wings were cracked and the paint was faded. "Sorry old friend not today maybe again one day." I said setting my hand on the old wings the amplifiers on the wings glowed lightly at the touch. "Time to face the music." I said sighing unhappily.
I walked outside with my wings on even though I couldn't fly how I wanted to I could still fly slowly and hover. I looked into the Canyon seeing a Rainbow blur fly through the course she pulled out in a corkscrew stopping at the lip of the canyon glaring at me. "H-Hey Rainbow... I ju-" My sentence was cut off by a foot slamming into my stomach I lost all my breath in an instant it was followed by a second foot striking my face throwing me back I hit the ground which made my body scream in pain. "Ok I deserved that." I said in my head as I tried to stand. I felt my hand being stomped on I couldn't even yell in pain it hurt so much.
"Frost." Was the only word I heard it was filled with pure hatred and anger.
"R-Rainbow please let me explain." I gasped out as I caught my breath finally. I clutched my wounded hand in pain.
"What makes you think I even want to hear you speak." She spat at me I could feel her glare on me.
"I still have to say what I want to say." I stated looking up at her which made me look away ashamed. "I shouldn't have tricked you into that bet or even did what I did you probably won't forgive me I don't even deserve your forgiveness." I said looking back down at the ground all the pain I put her through this was just a sliver of it. I deserved so much more for what I did.
"Apology not accepted." She said angrily kicking me again in the chest I felt my world darken around me. I looked up to Rainbow just before the darkness took me. I would swear I saw her crying.

I woke up in my workshop my hand was re-bandaged but everything still hurt. "What can I do to make her forgive me." I said out loud I put my hand on my head.
"You could have thought your actions through instead of being an arrogant ass." A voice said I looked back to see Rainbow tinkering with my broken set of wings. I looked back at the ceiling.
"I could have just let you win but I was so stupid I wanted to take you out on a date I didn't mean for it to be taken so far." I said with a sigh. "I didn't want you to get hurt Rainbow Dash." I said through my choked back tears.
"Still does not mean you are forgiven you will have to earn my trust again Frost." Rainbow said finishing up the repairs she did. "I might not be the best A.W.G. mechanic but I fixed what I could." She said calmly setting them down in front of me. "You owe me a race Frost if you win I will forgive you if you lose you will have to earn my trust the hard way." She said calmly outstretching her hand.
"Do I even have a choice." I said leaning over shaking her hand gently she suddenly squeezed which made me contort in pain.
"And no cheating we will be using default wings no modifications and no fancy tricks just a race of speed. Am. I. Clear?" Each word she squeezed harder on my hand I felt my wounds open up.
"C-Crystal." I said barely containing my tears of pain. She let go of my hand smiling.
"Good I will see you in 3 days be ready to lose Frost." She said standing up and leaving. What the hell had I just gotten myself into.
