While the other rangers were fighting off Nightmare Moon minions, Rainbow and Twilight was dealing with Nightmare Moon herself. Rainbow try to throw a kick but Nightmare Moon grab her with her magic and threw her away. Twilight fire a blast from her horn that Nightmare Moon block then she ran up and threw a punch that knock her back. Nightmare Moon sung her hoof at Twilight and hit her into Rainbow Dash. After they got up, Rainbow pull out her Element Sword and charge at her again. Rainbow swing her sword that Nightmare Moon block with her own horn. The two started to battle sword-to-horn before Nightmare Moon blast her after blocking another swing.
Rainbow got up and said, "What her horn made of? I mean I could chop that thing off with those attacks."
"Alicorns horns are stronger then Unicorns, so it takes a lot more force to cut one off." Twilight explain as she use her horn to place a shield around both of them as Nightmare Moon fire another blast.
They spit again as Nightmare Moon fire another blast. They both charge at her dodging the attacks that she threw at them. Once their were close they started to throw attacks. Rainbow started by throwing a hoof punch that Nightmare Moon block before throwing a kick that caught her off guard. But Nightmare Moon shrug it off and blast Rainbow back as Twilight threw a high kick after dodging her friend. Nightmare Moon duck under it and try to punch her back, but Twilight block it and did a low sweep tipping Nightmare Moon. But Nightmare Moon was quick to fire another blast that knock her into Rainbow.
"This has been fun rangers, but without the others around you are no match for me." Nightmare Moon laugh and fire another beam.
Twilight place a shield around them and they were cover in smoke. Nightmare Moon use her wings to blow the smoke away and saw that Rainbow and Twilight were gone. Nightmare Moon smile and look around.
"You can't hide forever! Once you are finish I'll make sure the rest of your friends are gone too." She said calmly as she walk around.
Rainbow and Twilight hide behind a huge rock that appear during their battle. They need a plan and quick.
"Any ideas Twilight?" Rainbow ask her friend.
"The only thing I got is one of us has to distract her as the other can get a good blow on her. It could weaken her to make this fight a bit easier." Twilight said.
Rainbow drew her Element Sword and hand it to Twilight who was confuse.
"Here, my Element Sword is long enough to make a powerful strike. I'll keep her busy." Rainbow said.
Twilight took the sword and place her hoof on Rainbow chest and a glow appear. Once Twilight remove her hoof, Rainbow saw that she was wearing the Thunder Shield and Twilight wasn't.
"Take my armor. It can help during the distraction." Twilight said seeing it as a gift swap.
Rainbow smile under her helmet and nods. Rainbow ran out of her hiding place and stood right behind Nightmare Moon.
"Hey, Queen of the Lame! Over here!" Rainbow call out.
Nightmare Moon turn and saw Rainbow Dash and laugh.
"Well, well, final ready to face your doom?" She ask.
"Hardly." Rainbow answers and charge at her.
Rainbow threw a high kick that Nightmare Moon duck under then threw a punch that she block. Rainbow block a punch from Nightmare Moon before doing a low sweep that she jump over. Rainbow threw punch after punch that Nightmare Moon block and counter with her own. Rainbow was quick to block the counters and throw attacks back. During the fight, she move her eyes around to keep a eye out for Twilight who was moving in the background trying to get behind Nightmare Moon. Rainbow was able to spot her behind them and smile under her helmet. Nightmare Mon fire a blast at blank point range and knock Rainbow back into a near by tree. That went Nightmare Moon notices that Rainbow was wearing the Thunder shield.
"What? How did you get that?" Nightmare Moon ask in surprise.
"From me!" Twilight shouted as she rush out of her hiding lace and swung with the Element Sword.
Nightmare Moon was so surprise from Twilight jumping out of no where and didn't have time to block or dodge the attack. The attack look to cut right through Nightmare Moon as she fell to the ground, weaken from it. Twilight walk over to Rainbow and help her up.
"You ok?" She ask handing back the Element Sword.
"Yeah, this Thunder Armor sure can take a hit." Rainbow said and place her hoof on Twilight.
Once Twilight had the Thunder Shield back on the rest of the rangers ran up to them.
"You two ok?" Applejack ask.
"Yeah, we fine." Rainbow said.
"I must say darlings you really went all out." Rarity said looking over the damage.
"That was mostly Nightmare Moon. We try to make less damage then what was already made." Twilight said.
"And where is she?" Fluttershy ask.
"Over there!" Pinkie shouted as Nightmare Moon started to get up.
The rangers stood ready for another attack as Nightmare Moon stood weakly from the surprise attack.
"You will not defeat me. The night will last forever!" She said as a glow appear on her horn.
"Give it up Nightmare Moon!", Twilight said to her, "We can't be beaten. You have send monsters, putties, your own minions and even now, you try to fight me and Rainbow alone. Now that the Elements are together you might as well as surrender. You can't beat all of us."
Nightmare Moon growl and fire a beam once more that the rangers dodge and stood ready. Nightmare Moon charge at them knocking down Rainbow and Twilight but was stop by Applejack, who threw an kick that knock her back a few steps. Fluttershy flew in and land a punch that knock her back a bit move before Rarity and Pinkie land two punches from behind. Twilight and Rainbow both kick Nightmare Moon away from the team and they all stood ready.
"No, I'm the Princess of the Night! I will not be beaten!" She yell and ready her horn.
"Ok girls, let put them together!" Rainbow said and they all drew their Element Weapons.
"Element Ax!" Rarity shouted flipping it around and move the handle to the base before throwing it in the air.
"Element Bow!" Pinkie shouted flipping her bow around before throwing it in the air and it combine with the Element Ax.
"Element Lance!" AppleJack shouted and spit the lance in half before throwing them to combine at the end of the bow.
"Element Draggers" Fluttershy shouted and flip her before throwing them. They went right next to the lances half's.
"Element Sword!" Rainbow shouted and jump up and grab the Element Ax before placing the Element Sword on top.
Rainbow land on the ground and aim at Nightmare Moon. The others place their hooves on Rainbow's shoulders.
"ELEMENT CANNON! READY!" They shouted.
Twilight place her hoof on Rainbow and added, "With the power of Thunder!"
"FIRE!" They shouted as Nightmare Moon fire a blast from her horn.
The two beams met each other and were evenly match. The rangers stood their ground as they held on to make sure they would stop Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon on the other hand, pour more into her attack and started to over power the element beam. The rangers push back stopping the beam just short of their Element Cannon.
"Gah! It way too strong!" Rainbow said as her hooves started to shake from the energy that they could feel.
"We got to keep trying!" Applejack said knowing they can't give up.
"But how?!" Fluttershy ask
"Nightmare Moon is able to increase her power at any time!" Rarity added.
"If only there was a way to increase ours!" Pinkie shouted.
"That it! Girls pour all of you element power into the cannon. If we do, we can over power her beam and it could help us stop her!" Twilight said seeing that it was their only hope.
"You sure Twilight?" Rainbow ask started to slip from the attack.
"Yes, trust me!" Twilight answer and started to glow green.
The others did and pour their power inside also glowing their own colors. Soon the Element Cannon started to over power Nightmare Moon attack and she try to push back but it was too powerful.
"No, NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Nightmare Moon shouted as the beam cover her.
The beam then turn into a rainbow tornado before a bright flash cover the area. When it fade, the rangers land on the ground un-morph and their Element Weapons apart and laying on the ground next to them. They each stood up as Princess Celestia and Spike walk up to them.
"Are you girls alright?" Spike ask.
"Yeah Spike, just give us a minute." Rainbow said as they all got up.
"Can't believe that work." Twilight said shock as she thought what just happen.
"Whatever the beam did, it must have use our ranger power because we're not morph." Pinkie said and the six look over themselves.
Celestia walk up to them with each of the Element weapons in her magic.
"Your power still lies in you, so you can still be able to morph, but now to deal with somepony else." Celestia said and head over to the same spot that Nightmare Moon once stood.
Each of the mares follow her and saw a Alicorn that look like Nightmare Moon only the black was replace with dark blue and the blue spot was now black. They also notices that the Alicorn look younger, almost smaller then them. They saw her open her eyes and look around in confusion.
"Where am I?" She ask, her voice sounding weak.
"Princess Luna." Celestia said surprising the rangers and the Alicorn.
Celestia walk near her and knee down.
"It been 1,000 years since we seen each other and all the horrible things you done.", She see as the Luna lower her head in shame, "but I am glad you are back sister and never let anything spit us up again."
Luna look up with tears in her eyes and hug her. Celestia also started to cry as she hug back.
"I miss you sister." She said.
"I miss you too." Celestia said.
The six mares just watch the reunion and all of them started to get tears in their eyes, even Rainbow Dash.
Luna broke away and saw the six mares and walk up to them.
"Thank you, I could see everything from Nightmare Moon's eyes and I know who you are, rangers. My sister pick the right mares to be the Element Rangers." Luna said.
"Your welcome Princess Luna. Glad we can help." Twilight said as the six bow.
"So it over? Is Nightmare Moon gone?" Fluttershy ask.
Before anypony could answer another voice spoke up.
"It not over, it FAR from OVER!" it said.
They all look up to see Nightmare Moon floated above them only it look like she was having trouble keeping a solid form.
"What?! How is she still here?!" Rainbow ask surprise.
"That Nightmare Moon real form, she need me in order to have a solid one." Luna explain.
"Rangers, you better morph. Luna is still to tired to fight since she was just free. You must stop Nightmare Moon." Celestia said knowing that the royal sisters can not fight this battle.
"Ok girls, "IT MORPHIN' TIME!" Rainbow shouted as they pull out their elements/coin again.
"GENEROSITY!"
"LAUGHTER!"
"HONESTY!"
"KINDNESS!"
"LOYALTY!"
"THUNDER!"
The rangers stood ready to fight Nightmare Moon again but she laugh at their fleet.
"You think you can stop me that easily? Guess again.", She said as her own, " BY THE POWER OF THE MOON, MAKE ME GROW!!!"
Soon Nightmare Moon stood tall at 30 tall and all the ponies in Canterlot could see her. She laugh and try to stomp the rangers who dodge.
"WE NEED DINOZORD POWER NOW!" The rangers shouted and held up her hooves.
Twilight took out her Thunder Dragger and play the tune that summon the Dragonzord.
The Zords reach Canterlot and the rangers jump in them. Then ready themselves to summon the Megazord.
"WE NEED MEGAZORD POWER NOW!" The five rangers shouted and the Megazord stood tall with the Dragonzord next to it.
The Megazord walk over to Nightmare Moon and threw a punch that she duck under. The Dragonzord sung it tail around and land a hit but Nightmare Moon caught it and threw it into the Megazord knocking them both down.
"Gezz, just one attack from both the Megazord and Dragonzord and she took us both down." Rainbow said as the zords stood up.
"Then let try again, only a little different." Twilight said over the com and the two zords charge at Nightmare Moon again.
The Dragonzord try to swipe Nightmare Moon with it claws but she dodge and block them. The Megazord land a punch on her and the two stood ready for the next attack. Nightmare Moon stood and grin at them before firing a beam at them, making explosions appear around them.
"Agh!" The rangers shouted as they were thrown around in their cockpits.
"We need to stop her before somepony get hurts!" Rarity said.
"Twilight, I think it time for the Dragon-Megazord!" Rainbow said.
"Got it!" Twilight said as they and zords got ready.
"DRAGON-MEGAZORD COMBINE!" The Rangers shouted.
The Dragon-Megazord stood ready and face Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon laugh thinking that she will win because she don't have Luna with her any more. Nightmare Moon fire a blast from her horn and the Dragon-Megazord block it with it swords by crossing them in front. The blast push them back but they kept it up. Once the blast stop, Pinkie had the Dragon-Megazord flew at Nightmare Moon and slash her with it swords. Nightmare Moon flew into the air and then ram into the Dragon-Megazord pushing it across the ground. But the rangers fought back and soon push her off. Nightmare Moon fire another beam that the Dragon-Megazord that dodge and Nightmare Moon threw a punch that knock it back a few steps.
"Gezz, even as the Dragon-Megazord she can still put up a fight." Rainbow said helping keeping it on it feet.
"If this keep going then there will be no Canterlot!" Pinkie said, worry.
"Any ideas, Twilight?" Applejack ask her.
"Not off my head. Just let try to beat her like we did with her monsters." Twilight said.
The rest nods and Pinkie made the Dragon-Megazord take to the sky.
"DRAGON-MEGAZORD, FINAL BLAST! ALL WEAPONS IN FIRING POSITION!" The rangers shouted and aim at Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare Moon smile and made her horn glow.
"POWER OF HARMONY," the Rangers shouted in unison, "FINAL BLAST!"
They fire at the same time as Nightmare Moon and the two beams started to push each other.
"Try all you want! You can't beat me!" Nightmare Moon laugh insane.
"She really want to beat us!" Fluttershy said scare.
"We got to do something!" Rarity shouted.
"Girls, let do what we did with the Element Cannon. Give the Dragon-Megazord our power." Twilight said and held up her Thunder Coin.
The others nods knowing there was no time to argue. They each held their Elements and place them on top of their controls.
"Let do it!" They shouted and did their roll call.
"With the Element of Generosity, Element Pony Ranger, Black!" Rarity said.
"With the Element of Laughter, Element Pony Ranger, Pink!" Pinkie said.
"With the Element of Honesty, Element Pony Ranger, Blue!" Applejack said.
"With the Element of Kindness, Element Pony Ranger, Yellow!" Fluttershy said.
"With the Element of Loyalty , Element Pony Ranger, Red!" Rainbow said.
"With the Power of Thunder, Element Pony Ranger, Green!" Twilight said.
"In the name of Harmony! We protect the weak and insure the peace!" Rainbow said.
"WE ARE THE ELEMENT PONY RANGERS!" They shouted as the beam became more powerful.
Nightmare Moon saw what was happening and put more in to her beam.
"NO, I will not be beaten!" Nightmare Moon shouted and put more into her attack.
The rangers pour so much in that they de-morph as the blast over power Nightmare Moon's. The attack did it damage and the rangers started to pant as their breaths left them. But they couldn't rest yet, Nightmare Moon was finish yet. They grab their controls and move the Dragon-Megazord into position for the final attack.
"FINAL SLASH!" They shouted.
The Dragon-Megazord pulled both of its blades back in preparation for the attack. Just before the Megazord hit Nightmare Moon, the Rangers swung both blades in a scissors formation, hitting Nightmare Moon directly.
Nightmare Moon couldn't believe it, she was defeated by six mere ponies. Six ponies that use the power of the Elements/Coin and the power of friendship.
"No, NO! This can't be happen! I'm the princess of the night. I can't lose!", Nightmare Moon shouted as she fell, "I HATE THE ELEMENT PONY RANGRERS!!!"
She hit the ground and erupted in a glorious explosion. It was over, the terror of Nightmare Moon had, at along last, was finally over.
"My Little Ponies, Victory is ours." Twilight said weakly as they rest smile.
A little bit later both Celestia and Luna stood near the rangers and use a spell to get their strength back up.
"You have done well, Rangers. Nightmare Moon is no more and Equestria is save." Celestia said.
"But we fear more danger will lie ahead but for now, you all deserve a break." Luna said.
"We'll get it, but can we doing something for the Celebration first?" Twilight ask.
"Of course, what is it?" Celestia ask.
"I'm sure you'll be surprise." Twilight said and wink to the others that got the hint.
It was time for Celestia to raise the sun, but rumors had it that the Princess has some surprises for them and they all waited. Soon the Sun princess step up and look over the crowd.
"My Little Ponies, today marks a special day for this year Summer Sun Celebration, For today I have been reunited with somepony I lost 1,000 years ago. My sister, Princess Luna." Celestia said and Luna step out.
"Hello everypony, it great to see your faces again. I want to say I'm greatly sorry for the things I did as Nightmare Moon. I was not myself. But I ask for you to give me a chance to reform. I need some time to see what has change over the past 1,000 years." Luna said hoping to ease some of the ponies minds.
Luna then had her horn glow and lower the moon and at the same time Celestia started to raise the sun. When the sun reach it peek, six shadows started to walk towards that ponies and they were shock to see the Element Pony Rangers standing there.
"With the Element of Generosity, Element Pony Ranger, Black!"
"With the Element of Laughter, Element Pony Ranger, Pink!"
"With the Element of Honesty, Element Pony Ranger, Blue!"
"With the Element of Kindness, Element Pony Ranger, Yellow!"
"With the Element of Loyalty , Element Pony Ranger, Red!"
"With the Power of Thunder, Element Pony Ranger, Green!"
"In the name of Harmony! We protect the weak and insure the peace! We are the Element Pony Rangers!" They hear and cheer wildly for them.
"I also thank the Element Pony Rangers for freeing me and give me a chance to reunite with my sister. Let us all thank them." Luna said before bowing to them.
Celestia follow, then the guards and finally everypony else.
The six smile and place their hooves on top of each other.
"PONY RANGERS!!!" They shouted and threw their hooves up as the crowd cheer again.
In the crowd, the CMC smile at the rangers. They were glad to see them help other ponies and wanted to be like them.
"I wish Rarity could see this." Sweetie said as she cheer.
"Yeah, they so awesome!" Scootaloo cheer as her wings buzz with joy.
"Where are our sisters and their friends any way?" Apple Bloom ask looking around, but the other two was so busy cheering they didn't hear her.
Above the crowd and on a build, the former Minions of Nightmare Moon watch as the crowd cheer for the rangers. Not only they recover but remember everything that happen to them.
"So, those are the ones that free us? I guess we own them one." Gilda said remembering the fights she had.
"Yes, they did free us, so return it we must." Zecora said seeing that they own them for it.
"I'm glad Princess Luna is back to normal but it met be too late for forgiveness now." Trixie said sadly.
They watch a bit long before they each left hoping to find a way to show they have reform.
The day was great, the Element Rangers stick around and talk to a few ponies but none was ever to figure out that they were six mares that they see everyday. True, Nightmare Moon was defeat but what could say that a new evil will arrive one day.
