//------------------------------// // Face-to-Face // Story: German Battleship Bismarck // by cellum95 //------------------------------// 167 miles from the German Battleship, the Equestrian 2nd Fleet is in their 1 hour and 20 minute journey, still days away from completing their mission of having the trade goods to Zebrica. The Equestria shared it's secret plans of the 'water-carriage' to the Crystal Empire, and the Crystal Royal Navy or CRN was born, with two crystal ships still in their service. The sailors of the 2nd Fleet is still in relaxation mode, confident that no trouble will brew over the horizon. >HMES Harmony< HMES Harmony, the lead ship of the 2nd Fleet, is still sailing with her 19-comrade ships. Admiral Iron Hoof was also still in relaxation mode, over-confident that nothing bad will happen to them. However, their relaxation is being interrupted by a buzzing noise up ahead. When they look up, they could not believe what they could see with their very own eyes. 'What in Equestria is that?' Iron Hoof thought as the 'mysterious flying object' is now flying above them. Whatever it is, it's not one of the pegasus scouting team of the Pony-Diamond Dog alliance. The 'flying object' has a very strange buzzing noise, and it's wings are not flapping. Looking to the 'object', he could see that it's circling the group, like getting it's coor-whatever that word is. The 'object' is just circling the fleet, like looking for a target. However, fifteen minutes after it circles the fleet, it just flew to the direction of north-west. 'Why is going there?' Iron Hoof thought again in curiosity, but his curiosity is dispersed from his head, knowing that any orders to follow the 'flying object' would be disastrous. The Equestrian 2nd Fleet still continues on, unaware that a mighty 'water carriage' will be under way, that will rain down chaos and destruction. >Bismarck< "So let me get this straight...You saw a convoy north-east from where the ship is now located?" Admiral Lutjens asked the observer of the Ar 196, in German language. "Yes sir. Unfortunately, they are not in the range of the guns yet sir. Estimated range from your location: 159 miles." The observer replied. "This is good find, but why is that they are just miles away from our location?" "I don't know sir, but we will soon find enough." The observer replied, and with that, he cuts of the communication. Lutjens is now pondering on whether or not destroy the convoy within range. But it was his mission, to destroy convoys in the Atlantic, even if they have been to uncharted waters of the Atlantic. "Captain." "Yes Admiral?" "Relay the order: full speed ahead." "Aye sir." The order was now relayed to the crew who is in duty of the engines, and soon enough, the Bismarck is now in it's maximum speed, closing the gap between Bismarck and the Equestrian 2nd Fleet. Fifteen minutes after the convoy was spotted, the Ar 196 was now within range to be picked up by the Bismarck. After landing in the ocean, and being picked up by the Bismarck, the flight crew had a satisfying smile on their faces, knowing that they completed something worth while. >Night, Equestrian Sea< It was deadly quiet in the sea, and it was good news for the Bismarck, because of the almost quiet night and because of their paint, they could strike the convoy without it noticing them. It was just night time for the Bismarck's crew, so they just sleep at the beautiful night, not having any troubles at all. The Admiral and the Captain were also asleep, so the only ones who were fully awake was the battleship's observers with search lights, searching for any trouble in the horizon. But it was just tiring work, just to search the horizon for anything that would attack the Bismarck head on, and they don't want that. They keep searching with their lights, but nothing came. Just as an useless an endeavor they guess, nothing much of tad importance. With relief in their heads, they returned to their beds, with the Bismarck still sailing, 151 miles from it's target. >Next Day, Equestrian 2nd Fleet, Equestrian Sea< It was another day for the Equestrian 2nd Fleet, some 149 miles from the German Battleship Bismarck. They were just asleep from 6:00 P.M to 3 P.M for some precautions that pirates might attack them, but to their relief, the pirates didn't came. They were totally overconfident that they didn't even consider that the 'flying object' will return, but it did. It was now a nightmare again for them again, as they thought it would send information back to the pirates, but this time, it's lethally different. It carried two 'something' below it's 'wings', and to make matters worse, it's now going a thirty degree angle to fly at them, doing something big. Their suspicion of the 'big thing' actually existed, and soon and in a sudden way, the 'flying object' is now firing 'thunder and lightning', scrapping the western ship, HMES Crazy Horse. The crew of the lonely ship is now screaming in panic as the ship is now being riddled with holes that they couldn't understand why it was there. Then suddenly out of sheer brutality, with the 'object' still flashing with 'thunder and lightning', it drops one of the 'something' under it's wings and surely enough, it got contact with HMES Crazy Horse, and having a 'boom' sound, and the Equestrian ship is blown up from the water. None of the sailors in the ship survived, and the 'object' is now flying upwards, away from them, to the relief of the sailors of the fleet. However, as soon as the sigh of relief was casted upon the sailors, the German Ar 196 turned back and started this time shooting the eastern ship, HMES Wonderbolts. The German plane is now shooting bullets at the helpless ship, and now drops it's payload. It reach contact with the ship, and moments later, the ship exploded, much to the disbelief of the sailors of the Equestrian. After just a day at sea, they got attacked by an 'object', but to their relief, it was flying away farther and farther, but now paranoia is attacking them, unaware the bigger picture between them. They have come face to face with the very power of the German Kriegsmarine.
