//------------------------------// // Trixie Vs. Twilight: Round 2.5 // Story: A Canterlot Wedding Out Of Twilight's Worst Nightmare // by Obsidian Raindrop //------------------------------// Trixie vs. Twilight Round 2.5 So what that this may not have been the way she wished to meet Twilight Sparkle, but the look on her face was worth not being able to put on a big display for her once enemy. “Sorry I took so long in there honey,” Trixie said, kissing Shining Armor on the cheek. Trixie could practically feel the anger rolling off her. Sensing the tension between the two of them, Shining decided play mediator between the two of them before this got out of hoof. “So, you two know each other,” he said, already knowing about Trixie’s past with Twilight, but he didn't know that Twilight knew her. Twilight couldn't believe this what in the hay happened when she was gone. She knew that they hadn't seen each other in two years, but Trixie! She may have only meet her once, but once is all she needed to understand just how vain and stuck up she was. “Yeah I do. She humiliated three of my friends, and nearly destroyed Ponyville with a giant space bear.” “Wait, was this the third or fourth time that Ponyville was nearly destroyed? I mean really, from the letters your brother has, that town has a crisis every Saturday,” the former showmare said, loving every second of watching Twilight run through a plethora of emotions from confusion to betrayal and finally anger. “How could you let her read my letters to you?!” Twilight said, with newly replenished rage, as she closed the distance between the three of them. Sure, ever since Trixie’s show Ponyville had seven major crises, five of which was caused directly or on indirectly due to her or her friends, but still she had no need to know that! “Wait, let’s get back on track, you said something about destroying Ponyville with a giant space bear,” Shining said, trying to deflect some of Twilight’s rage. He knew that Trixie ended her career because an Ursa destroyed her carriage, but he didn't know Twilight was involved. Trixie decide to place herself in between the fearless defender of Canterlot and his sister. The last thing she need was for her future sister-in-law to murder her future husband. “Let me explain what happened, Shining. During one of my last shows, a couple of my more enthusiastic fans thought that the story I told at the beginning of my show was real so they brought an Ursa Minor to town.” “They wouldn't have done that if you hadn't bragged about defeating an Ursa Major. Because of you, half the town was destroyed. Seriously, how could you fall for this? She’s a loudmouth, arrogant, and she lies about everything she does. I bet you don’t even know a thing about her that isn't made up.” “Well, I know that she’s a writer for BC comics, because of all the comic book panels she’s on. I know that she loves astronomy just like other pony because Trixie and Dad had an hour long debate on the moon. Oh, and she and mom cook Sunday brunch when she’s in town,” Shining said, glad that Trixie hadn't summoned a giant monster to destroy Ponyville out of revenge. “Wait, she met Mom and Dad? ” “Yes, and they love me. Heck, last time I was over, they wanted to me start calling them Mom and Dad,” Trixie said, feeling a sense of superiority over Twilight. “Okay, we’re getting off track, that explains the space bear, but what about humiliating her friends?” Shining asked, knowing about Trixie’s mile long meanstreak. “Hecklers,” Trixie said, as if that that was all she had to say to justify publicly humiliating Twilight’s friends. And funny enough, it was Shining that tried his hardest to hold back a snicker, remembering a trio of glitter covered stallions who had the audacity to heckle Trixie’s farewell performance. “Yeah, they were heckling you, but didn't need to humiliate them in front of the entire town!” Twilight said, angry that Trixie had taken away her big trump card so easily. She didn't know what was making her more angry, that her brother was okay with the fact that his fiance was responsible for destroying half a town, or seeing Shining wrap his leg around hers. “And I admit that I was wrong to humiliate them in front of the entire town, but that’s why Shiny convinced Celestia to have you all prepare the wedding for us. It’ll give us a good week of working together for a common cause to mend whatever damage was done. I mean we both want to make your brother happy right?” Trixie said, trying to reach out to the other mare, only for to move back at the last second. "Sure, that's great. Just give me a few minutes to find my friends and tell them that the mare my brother will be marrying is the same mare that wrecked a chunk of the town and humiliated most of them. Take care now, bye!" Twilight, doing her best to hide her anger (Somewhat poorly) while preparing a teleportation spell. Shining Armor tried to call out to her, but she had vanished in a flash before he could utter a word. SEVERAL HOURS LATER “Trixie? As in the Great and powerful Trixie? As in the greatest most magical pony in all pony history Trixie?! I take it back sugarcube. There’s something wrong with your brother if’n he could be merry’n that snob,” Applejack said, taking a bite of her daisy sandwich. Applejack didn't know why, but every time she was around that mare, she’d get the same the same feelings as she would around a rattlesnake. “Now Applejack, the longer I keep looking back at that incident, the more see we all didn't put are best hooves forward. I’m sure we can all admit that each of us made some mistake, and if she is willing to bury the hatchet, I think we should at least give her a chance,” Rarity shot back from her end of the table, watching all her friends look at her as if she grew a second head. “Wow Rarity, I thought that if anypony was going to hold a grudge it would be you after she turned your mane green,” Twilight said, actually surprised that Rarity of all ponies was so willing to forgive her. Especially since the last time they heard anything to do with Trixie was when Rarity had to pay 300 bits to Trixie for property damage. “Well I wouldn't say I forgive her for that, but I do admit that destroying a part of her stage wasn't exactly called for.” “How about the rest of you guys, do you think we can forgive he?” Twilight asked, not sure which answer she would rather hear. To be honest, it felt like life time ago since the Ursa minor incident, and since then she nearly destroyed Ponyville herself a couple of times. However, every time she thought about forgiving Trixie she’d see that same look of possessiveness on her face, the look of a little filly who had the shiniest new toy. “Well from what I heard about her performance, everypony that wasn't heckling her enjoyed her show,” Fluttershy said, not really knowing how to feel about the mare. “Yeah. Plus if she willing to be nice, then we should nice to her too,” Pinkie piped in excitedly finally getting a chance to meet the only other pony who managed to entertain all of Ponyville. “I guess it’s not like we can quit working just because we don’t like the bride, right?” Rainbow said, a little peeved that their new boss became Trixie, but Pinkie was right. If she was going to be nice, then so should they. “You're right, but still... Trixie. How did that happen?” Twilight said, a little mad for not getting every single detail from him. “Please stop.” “Shining, I’m sorry. Shining, I’m not like my moth- ” “Ahhhhhhhhh.” Trixie screamed out in terror, her eyes darting around the room trying to find whatever monster was hiding from her. When none could be found, she turned to her left to see Shining Armor looking at her. “Shining,” she said, as she buried herself into his hooves. It had been months since she had a nightmare.. “Trixie. Trixie it’s okay. It’s okay I’m here now, everything’s fine,” Shining said, as Trixie shivered in his hooves. When her breathing finally returned to normal she looked up to him more scared than he ever saw him. “What’s wrong? ” “I had a dream you and I were about to say I do, but then a giant Twilight crashed through the ceiling and stole you away from me. When I looked back, I couldn't see any pony so I rushed outside and chased after her. We were in Ponyville when I caught her I hit her with everything I had. I started blaming her for everything while blasting her with energy. When I stopped, I ran to you but you hit me and told me that you hated me and that I was a monster just like my mother,” she said, frantically. “Shhh... It’s okay, I’m here now everything will be alright. Twilight isn't going to steal me away from you Trixie,” he said, as he rubbed the back of her neck. “I know, I know. It’s just that every time I meet your sister, my world comes crashing down around me. Two times already she’s ruined my life,” she said, as she pushed away from him, staring directly into his eyes. “I don’t want to lose you after everything that we've been through.” “You won’t Trixie. I swear I’ll protect you no matter what! Nothing will hurt you, not my sister, not your mother, not even an Ursa Major.” “Don’t say dumb things like that. I’m a writer, characters who say that kind of stuff have a death sentence on their heads,” she said, chuckling at how cute he’d get whenever he would say stupid corny stuff like that. “For you, it would be worth it,” he said, kissing her forehead.
