CHAPTER FOUR
CLOSE CALL

A loud crying could be heard from the library. Twilight, AJ,  Spike, and Fluttershy were stairing at Hope in disbelef. Pinky was trying every thing within her power to calm the baby. Rarity was lying on the floor covering her ears.

"Please make it stop" Rarity whined "I don't think i can take anymore of this noise."

"Hey look at the funny face." Pinkie Pie was making face after face trying to calm Hope down. "Come on look at the funny face doo da doo da loo, look at the funny face.........Please." Nothing seemed to work.

"I think maybe something scared it." Twilight said.

"Ya think!" Applejack said with a hint of anoyence in her voice.

"She could be hungry" Fluttershy said, as she started making her way to Hope.

"OH COME ON!" Pinkie shouted, "Who dosn't like funny faces" Suddenly Hope stoped crying, Pinky then looked at Hope and did a really big smile, obviosly happy about her triumph. It was short lived though as Hope erupted into even louder tears. The smile on Pinky's face disapeard as she went slack jawed.

"Oh boy this is going to be one of those days" Spike facepalmed.


Back on the other side of the everfree, a small creature was emerging from the portal. It looked like an eyeball with bat wings. It had claws like a bird of prey and it zoomed around at high speeds. on its left claw was a small bracelet.

"Ok Eyegore," A voice came from the bracelet, "locate the child of harmony and follow it. Don't let it out of your sights, we have to keep a close eye on her to see when would be a good time to strike. You have your orders now go, for the glory of the deamonta." Eyegore started zooming in the direction of ponyville as the portal closed.

Mooneater was sitting back on his throne looking at a holoscreen.

"Don't fail me." The screen showed houses left and right, there were colorful ponies everywhere. Somehow they didn't seem to notice that they were being watched. Suddenly a rainbow colored blur was seen directly in front of the screen and seemed to be getting bigger and bigger.

Eyegore couldn't react in time as he crashed into Rainbow Dash and was sent flying by the force.
"What the hey" Rainbow Dash said as she rubbed her head. "Who threw that?!"

Back in Mooneaters throne room, the image on the screen was spinning around suddenly, untill a soft thud was heard.

"God damn it!" Mooneater cursed.


Back in ponyville Eyegore was on its back on top of a stool that was by a table outside of Sugercube Corner. The door to bakery opened up as a light grey pegasus with a blond mane came out carrying a chocolate chip muffin in her hooves. On her flank was the image of a bunch of bubbles. She went to the table and stool and proceded to sit down. A loud wet splat was herd when she tuched down. Eyegore was crushed to death. Back in the relm of the deamonata a loud angry scream was herd off in the distance.


Back at the library Hope had finally calmed down. Fluttershy was hugging her close while rocking back and forth while singing.

"Hush now quite now."
'Its time to lay your sleepyhead"
"Hush now quite now."
"It's time to go to bed."

Hope was fast asleep at that point. Rarity and Applejack had already gone out because they grew tired of Hopes nonstop crying. Spike was holding an ice pack to his head and was walking upstairs to go to bed. Twilight was in the kitchen with Pinkie Pie making tea. And right now all was quite.
