The first thing I remember is the voice so full of wisdom yet also so stern like that of a man who leads. “Hear me for thou have been blessed by thee to awaken thy empire but know enemies await you I shall help thee along thy way but know knowledge is where your power will lie.”
“I do not know what I am or what you want me to do.” I stated to him with a questioning look. My mane it was a soft golden brown color with my coat a dark orange color with my wings being much larger than my body.
“Aye thou are first of your kind in five thousand years.” He said to me in his archaic voice it rang in my head like that of a bell off a high tower.
“What do I do to bring your will to the world?” I asked to him with a confused look.
“Find it your own way because what you do will spell out how the empire thrives.” He looked to me his long golden mane and dark blue coat that had shiny bits like stars in the night sky.
A thought ran across my mind (when, where, and how.) all I had thought and then a bright flashing light and he was gone like he never stood there in the darkness but it was brighter now I could see shapes and shadows forming all around me like the world was being created around me.
I found myself curled up into a ball hidden behind some sort of huge rock. The dark woods I was in was cold and restless you could hear the birds and strange sounds of other animals echo from miles away but the one sound that got me to turn my head after the massive amount of ground I treaded was screams and not just any screams female screams.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” The scream was loud and close it wasn't like the echo as soon as it started I could hear it not just get close with every passing second. I ran towards the source of the noise and low and behold three fillies standing tall against a pack of Timber wolves. They stood ready to pounce on them but an earth pony stood up for her friends between the wolves and their late snack I assumed.
“Yawl taint taken none my here friend’s.” She stated before pounding her hoof into the ground at the wolves. Her red bow in her hair flew off by the gust of wind and her yellow coat was stained with sap and a few cuts but mostly bruises they looked tired like they had ran miles to try and avoid this.
The wolves were now ready to take her on first while they started to circle her she stepped forward to match their eyes but they were hungry fear standoffish not going to get them to turn when one began going lower to the ground I leapt out of the bush ramming it into a tree.
“Run get some help I’ll keep the entertained!” I yelled out to them and they ran as hard as they could. “I cracked my neck and looked at the rest of the pack now circling me. “So then whose next?” I asked with a smile forming across my face.
Ponyvile ten minutes later
“Where the hay is they Twi?” Asked Applejack who was looking down an alleyway.
“I don’t know. Rainbow You see anything?” The purple unicorn asked and responded looking from one friend to another.
“I see them their running out of the Ever free right now!” She yelled from atop a cloud with her yellow Pegasus companion.
“Let’s go every pony!” Twilight yelled to the ten or so ponies now standing around looking up from what they were doing.
The three fillies saw the town tears in their eyes and their hearts beating hard and fast not stopping to breath or anything Scootalo followed by Sweetie and Apple bloom who tried to stay back to help the colt who saved them.
“Sis!” Sweetie and Apple bloom yelled sobbingly together rushing into their arms and crying their eyes into their manes. Scootalo jumped into the rainbow mane Pegasus arms as they hugged each other.
“You gotta come help quick.” Sweetie said trying to pull her sister towards the forest.
“Why would we ever go in there your safe here and now I don’t want anypony to go near that dreadful forest with you ever again or ill ring their necks.” The usually polite and generous element of generosity said while holding her hoof up.
“No there was a colt that saved our lives by tackling the wolves that were chasing us.” Said the orange Pegasus now still crying into her idols shoulders.
“Yeah He rammed it to the tree then told us to haul tail here to get help so please let’s go.” Said Sweetie bell still trying to move her sister into the forest.
“Girls you’re the only ones missing from ponyvile so I think it was just an animal that wanted you and fought the wolves to eat you.” Stated the unicorn that was looking at the three of them while the yellow Pegasus was trying to clean their cuts and get tree sap off their coats.
“WE aren't lying he’s in danger and he needs help.” Said Apple bloom who was trying to wave the Pegasus off to get them to go with them.
“Sis quit it I know you want your cutie mark but taint the way ta go about it.” Said Applejack who was scowling and scolding the three at same time. As she said that though AB quickly trotted towards the forest with a rainbow mane Pegasus chasing after her but was to late and smashed into a tree after the Filly jumped into the bush and was now being followed by her sister and some other ponies who were yelling after her.
Back to the action
The wolves had clawed me up pretty bad but my hoof still smashed into the one in front’s head beating it to the ground as another bit my tail and was launching me towards a tree like a sack of potatoes. Once I hit the tree I felt a jolt of pain in my legs as I tried to stand and my wings were still wrapped around my stomach I had to keep them from getting their teeth on them or else I could lose them. The leader again jumped at me his teeth bared and getting ready to bite down hard on me. I turned around and bucked his bottom jaw into his top and listened to the sound of wood cracking as they hit.
“Come On! Is this all you got I am more scared of bunnies then you lot.” I said as they growled and all started coming at me at once my hooves shook not from fear or cold but with the pain of just standing up. I started to laugh as they began to prowl closer and closer “Hahahahaha. I am going to die already damn dad looks like I’ll see you sooner than I thought.” I stated as my legs gave out under me and my muzzle on the ground and the whole world was on its side. I heard the paw steps get closer and closer but then they stopped and my whole world went black.
“Sis he’s here!” Apple bloom yelled and threw a rock at one of the tree dogs in front of her to get their attention.
“Darn it sis you’re going to get yourself and every other pony-.” She was cut off as she saw the beat up colt laying on the ground with a small puddle of blood leaving him and quickly sprang into action baring her teeth she quickly started bucking the nearest of the dogs and the others soon followed suit. The dogs finally were driven back as their dead pack mates began increasing astronomically.
“Hey wake up?” Asked the filly standing over the now limp body of a colt her own age with his blonde brownish mane and his dark orange coat it looked like he was hurt bad other ponies started making way as a orange earth pony came up next to the filly and touched her neck with her muzzle and looked to two stallions and pointed to him then to the way towards town.
“Is he gone sis?” She asked her older sister before she looked down to the ground and then at the colt laying on a stretcher his chest barely rising and falling.
“I don’t know but I know it taint your fault so don’t worry about it alright.” She stated and began trotting them both off towards the exit before any pony else.
“Finally AJ did you prove to them there wasn't any colt?” Asked her athletic rainbow mane friend with her hooves crossed and her eyes glaring at the two other fillies then back at her friend.
“Actually he was there and he’s hurt badly where da doc is.” She said and pointed back to the poor colt that was on a stretcher with blood dripping off his stretcher a lot of pony’s eyes went wide and some looked rather sickly at the sight he was in.
“I’m right here.” said the pony with a red cross on his flank with a stethoscope around his neck. He trotted right up to the colt with a medical bag and some bandages.
“Oh sweet Celestia!” He is in bad shape I need him to the hospital stat.” He said turning around making a hole for the poor colt.
Some of the younger mares saw him and tears ran down their eyes until they saw something his wings they were dragging on the ground even though he was easily 3 feet in the air. Twilight was one such mare and followed after the hurt colt and the doctor.
There was an observation room for interns as the surgery table was being used with the six mares looking down at the hero/mysterious colt. The Pegasai after being there and looking at his wings just stared and had thoughts of how much strength there was behind those puppies.
The earth pony with her Stetson just had a hoof on the glass like one of her own family was down there. Pinkies mane was flat so was her tail and tears were leaving her eyes but she just sat in a corner nervously trying to keep away from the cut up colt.
The unicorn with her book fascination was looking through Pegasai biology and ancient pony races books trying to figure out what kind of pony he was. The other Unicorn just stared at her sister’s hero and wondered how he was going to survive this ordeal and if he was even going to be 100% after this.
Four days later hospital room
It had been Four days and the C.M.C. had barely left the hospital room waiting to thank their savior and hopefully make sure he is okay. But they had fallen asleep and the nurses didn't want to wake them.
But in the bed a colt stirred awake just looking at the three young fillies sleeping he got up and covered them all with his sheet to make sure they didn't freeze and made sure not to cover their heads the Pegasus was drooling a little and the unicorn snored while the earth pony rested peacefully but had a sad look on her face he made sure that they were fine before he crawled back into his bed and covered up with a blanket to dream again and to not wake them.
The sun shined on his face while he tried to avoid it he woke up and quickly saw the basket of apples a card hoof made and a scarf all sitting at the end of his bed. He quickly wrapped the scarf around his neck and bit into an apple as he read the note and smiled after a few minutes the roaring of his stomach was taken care of with one apple left he put it aside and put the note in the basket along with the paper work the hospital gave him about their insurance policy and how they would pay it seeing as how he was a hero this time.
The exit was right in front of him and as he walked out it he saw a beautiful village with a breeze brushing him gently he saw Pegasai in the sky pushing clouds and another one hauling a sack of mail and earth ponies selling their crops while few unicorns began working on some instruments and some just helping out with odds and ends. Some saw me and began whispering the Pegasai all looked down at me with my bandaged leg and large wings that were wrapped around me like a winter coat.
“Hey you stop.” Said a female voice it was obvious by how it sounded higher and with authority. As I turned around I found a grey coated mare and silver mane on her head she looked at me than at my basket than to my wings I held out a hoof basket still in my mouth. She shook it and beckoned for me to follow to which I did to a great building in the center of town.
“You are the one who saved Apple bloom and her friends are I correct?” She asked while looking at my wings still protruding out.
“Yes your assumption would be correct why do you ask?” I said while looking at the cup of tea she had brought in for me.
“Good then consider this your reward for being a hero.” She handed me a paper and on it said certification of approval for heroism.
“Okay thank you?” I said before getting up to leave.
