Later on during Tesla's fourth day, he was still working on the pulse, he was still in the basement of Twilight's home, and he was losing track of time. He wasn't too sure on what the time was, and despite him frequently checking the time outside the basement due to his OCD, he somehow didn't want to do it, he wasn't feeling himself today. He finally stopped working on his machine and checked outside the basement on the time, it was 11:00 am, he has been working on his pulse for five hours, since he came back from finishing off Applejack's machine earlier that day. He went outside the basement and made his way upstairs, where he saw Twilight sitting on her couch, reading a book and Spike was sleeping against a wall whilst sitting on a wooden stool. Once Twilight saw Nikola open the basement door, she greeted him,
"Morning Nikola"
"Good morning, Twilight" Tesla said in a somewhat dazed tone.
"Are you okay?" Twilight asked, concerned.
"Yes, I just feel tired..." He began.
"Up all night again?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, I feel hungry as well, it's strange because I never feel hungry or tired" Tesla explained.
"Go get some breakfast then, then have a nap afterwards, I won't mind if you have some food" Twilight told him.
Tesla walked around until he stopped to look out the window, where he saw a few Pegasi moving clouds in the sky,
"Why don't they just let nature do it's thing?" He asked himself.
Twilight was once again, curious of what Tesla was talking about, so she stopped reading her book and flipped it over, leaving it on the page she was reading,
"What do you mean?" Twilight asked.
"Doesn't the weather just control itself?" He asked back.
"No, the Pegasi control it, we have a weather team who does so, Rainbow Dash is apart of it. The only place I know, on land anyways, that has weather moving by itself, is the Everfree Forest, a place where no pony should go" Twilight told him.
"Well, if Pegasi can control the weather, how come they can't stop the incoming storm?" Tesla asked.
"Storm came in strongly from the seas, at sea the weather moves on it's own, it came in too strongly" Twilight explained.
"Oh right" Tesla replied.
"Does the weather in your world move by itself?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, that's why I was puzzled to why your's doesn't" Tesla replied.
"Who do you miss the most from your world?" Twilight changed subject.
Tesla sighed, "My friends mostly"
"Did you have any family back home?" Twilight asked.
"Most of my family died before I moved away from my home country, my father was a war general and my mother was a maid, I didn't have much family besides them" Tesla told her.
"You didn't have a wife or anything?" Twilight asked, "At the age your at?"
Tesla then thought of his lost love, Ana, and sighed once more,
"No, I never married, though there has been plenty of women who have fallen head over heels for me" Tesla told her.
"I had a boyfriend a few years ago, he's currently taking an astronomy course, that's why we broke up, you would've liked him, he's interested in a lot of the same things you specialize in, like psychics and all that good stuff" Twilight said.
"What's his name?" Tesla asked.
"Comet Tail" Twilight replied.
"Well, that's sounds nice. But another quick question" Tesla said.
"What is it?" Twilight asked.
"Where do you keep your food?" He asked back.
"In the cupboards in the kitchen, and also the fridge" Twilight told him.
Tesla went into the kitchen and searched through the cupboards and found several types of food that could suit him, such as bread, milk, honey and vegetables. And other foods more specifically for ponies, such as hay and grass. Tesla was curious as to what hay tastes like, and considering he's a pony, it must taste different for him now,
"Twilight? What does hay taste like?" Tesla asked from the kitchen.
Twilight once again, found his question weird. But she quickly thought more about his question and came to the realization that Tesla came from a world where people do not eat hay,
"It em....tastes sweet" She replied.
"Sweet, eh?" Tesla questioned.
Tesla then took several stalks of hay and munched on them, he chewed on it for another few seconds, and he thought it tasted quite nice. He then came back into the main room, seeing Twilight continuing to read her book,
"This is nice" He commented on the hay.
"Thought you'd like it" Twilight replied.
"What's that book you're reading?" Tesla asked.
"It's a crime book, about these two guys who managed to make one million bits in eight months, just by conning out ponies" Twilight told him.
"Sounds interesting" Tesla replied.
"You could read it once I'm done with it if you want, it's the first in a trilogy" Twilight said.
"No thank you. I have this obsession that whenever I read one author's work, I feel compelled to read the rest of his or her works" Tesla explained.
"Oh, right" Twilight said, "Don't worry, I have bad habits like that as well"
"Such as?" Tesla asked.
"I can't stand things that don't go as plan, whenever I make a to-do list for the day and the tiniest goes wrong, then I just get extremely aggravated" Twilight said.
"Well, we all have our habits, like I can't sleep for more that two hours. Speaking of which, I might go to sleep back in the basement" Tesla said.
"You can't sleep for too long though, we're going back to Applejack's to finish the machine" Twilight told him.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, it's completed" Tesla replied.
"What? It's completed?" Twilight questioned.
"Yeah, I...I did it last night" Tesla said, "Well, technically it was earlier in the morning"
"Oh my God, Nikola..." Twilight said as she facehoofed.
"Yes, but I did tell you I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to stop until one thing is complete" Tesla replied.
"You did say that, to be honest, I should've expected it" Twilight said, "You are still coming around to help out though, right?"
Tesla whilst Twilight was speaking made it over to the door that led to the basement,
"Of course, I'll just catch up with you, okay?" Tesla made sure.
"Yeah, that seems good" Twilight replied.
"Well, I'll probably see you there. You're probably going to leave in about half an hour anyways, right?" He asked.
"Probably" Twilight replied, "Spike will be awake by the time you wake up, so you won't need to lock the door behind you when you leave"
"Or I could just climb out the window again" Tesla said to himself in a joking tone.
"What was that?" Twilight asked as she didn't hear him.
"Nothing" Tesla quickly said.
Tesla opened the door to the basement, but before he left the main, he bid Twilight a short farewell,
"I'll see you at the farm Twilight" He told her.
"You too, Nikola" She replied.
It was about two hours since Tesla slept, he never usually sleeps for more than two hours. Once he woke up he quickly got himself up and went upstairs to see the time was now 1:20 pm. Once he was in the main room, he saw Spike sitting against the wall, bored. Bouncing a rubber ball against the other wall, he then looked over to Tesla whilst playing with the ball due to boredom,
"Hey Nikola" He greeted.
"Hello Spike. Twilight's already at the farm?" Telsa replied and asked.
"Yeah, she told me to look after the library whilst she's gone, no pony usually comes in on a Sunday anyways" Spike told him.
"Do never go along with Twilight to anything at all?" Tesla asked.
"At times, she usually leaves me up to my own devices though" Spike said.
"What do you usually do?" Tesla asked.
"I read, sit around, eat, play with this.." Spike replied as he shook the ball in his hand, "It's strange, nothing strange has happened in Ponyville in a while"
"What do you mean?" Tesla asked.
"Me and my friends' life cycle usually consists of anarchy and craziness. You being a visitor from another world is the strangest thing to happen in months, usually there's pandemics, disasters, monsters, hell, I've even seen the definition of chaos" Spike said out of frustration.
"Definition of chaos?" Tesla questioned.
"Yeah, I've the being, chaos. And his name is Discord" Spike said, "You know what? I think you'd get along with him"
"The embodiment of chaos? Getting along with me? And I thought my jokes were bad" Tesla said.
"Seriously, you would get along with him, he tried to bring the world to it's knees, twice, ended by friends with Fluttershy and now he's fine, I think" Spike said.
"Well, he seems like an interesting fellow" Tesla said, "But I got to go. Me and Twilight will probably be back later"
"What were you and Twilight doing this morning, like early in the morning? Because she made a certain noise before I fell asleep. You two weren't...?" Spike almost finished.
"NO!" Tesla interrupted, "I wasn't....I wasn't doing what you think with her, she was helping me make something to go with my machine" Tesla explained.
Spike shrugged and continued to bounce the rubber ball off of the wall again,
"I'll.... get going then" Tesla slowly said.
"Okay, dude. See you later" Spike replied.
Tesla then proceeded out of the library home and muttered to himself,
"That was undeniably awkward"
He then continued to make his way for Sweet Apple Acres, and noticed he's perfected how to walk like a pony, and felt proud of himself.
Once he made it to Sweet Apple Acres, he saw that the barn's door was slightly open and he heard the sounds of machine blades slicing,
"Are they trying it out already?" He pondered to himself, "Without help from me?"
He then went inside the barn to see Applejack, Twilight and Pinkie looking at the machine, and not sure what to do to turn it off,
"Need help?" Tesla asked.
The three mares turned around to see Tesla, they were all surprised and relieved he was there, Pinkie rushed over to him and said to him,
"Nikola! I accidentally turned on the machine and now and we don't know how to turn it off and..." Pinkie said, but extremely fast, too fast for Tesla to catch up with.
"Pinkie! Calm down, tell me what happened, say it slower though" Tesla said.
Pinkie then took a deep breath,
"I turned on the machine by accident and we don't know how to turn it off" Pinkie said slower.
"Okay, let me see it" Tesla said as he passed Pinkie.
Tesla approached the machine further and the violent slashing sounds of the blades inside the machine became louder, he went over to the button pad and tried to fix it,
"Can you fix it, Nikola?" Twilight asked.
"We'll see" Tesla replied.
He looked at the pad and instantly remembered where the buttons and switches were previously at, he then tried to use the safest way to turn the machine off, with the buttons and switches having to be turned in a specific order if it is willing to turn off without exploding or any other major effect. Luckily, he was able to get it turned off safely, and all the mares let out a sigh of relief,
"That machine is hard to handle" Applejack said.
"Well, I'll tell you how to use it later" Tesla replied.
"Oh yeah, speaking of which, why did ya sneak on my property instead coming back to finish it later?" Applejack asked.
"I have tendencies to complete machines once I've started them, that only goes against machines that take me a while to make" Tesla replied.
"Well, despite ya sneaking onto my land, ah'm grateful ya did that, thanks, Nikola" Applejack said.
"You're welcome, Applejack" Tesla replied.
"We're almost done working in the fields, then we're doing something later on, want to come with?" Twilight asked.
"Depends, what are you doing?" Tesla asked back.
"My l'il sister and Rarity's l'il sister and their friend are just going off to a go-kart race, they asked us to come around and give 'em extra support, want to come?" Applejack asked.
Tesla thought about that for a second, as much as he wanted to get his pulse more evolved, he also wanted to see his engine come into play in the Cutie Mark Crusaders kart race, it was an opportunity he couldn't pass on,
"Of course" Tesla said.
"Great. They said they built an extension to it, ah can't wait" Applejack said.
"Neither can I" Tesla replied.
