I remember it being a fine Spring day. I was lying on a cloud just minding my own business when Pinkie Pie came. We had planed to do some pranks today so she and I were excited, but Pinkie seemed sad when she found me.
"Hey Pinkie, are you okay?" I said to her. Her eyes started to water.
"Oh Dash it's just awful! I was leaving home w...when Fluttershy pushed me in the mud." Pinkie sobbed.
I was confused, why would Fluttershy do that? She never does that. I decided that Pinkie and I should talk to her, Pinkie was a little scared, but I was with her so she was okay at the time. When we reached Fluttershy's house, it looked normal, the grass was green, the animals were playing, and the birds were singing. I knocked, but no answer.
"Fluttershy. It's me Rainbow Dash and Pinkie. Are you there?" I was worried, I knocked three more times...no answer.
Pinkie and I went into town, I thought I could cheer the party pony up with some milk shakes. While we were there Applejack walked in, she was delivering some apples.
"Well howdy Rainbow, Pinkie. What are you two up to?" Applejack being with us seemed to make Pinkie smile, I told her that we were looking for Fluttershy. She didn't know where she was, she didn't see her all day today.
"Sorry I have to go deliver more shipments. If I see her I'll give you a shout." Said Applejack as she left. Once we were done, Pinkie and I left over to Twilights, maybe she knew. Twilight was just like Applejack, she didn't see her today. As we were about to leave, Twilight said something,
"Oh wait. I think I saw her by Sugarcube Corner. I think, I'm not sure if it was her or not." We thanked her and rushed to Sugarcube Corner. As we trotted, we saw smoke in our direction, we stopped and looked at each other with a confused look. We rushed over and hoped nothing bad happened...once again, we were wrong.
It was on fire, burnt to the ground. The Cake family made it out safe, but Pinkie was devastated. She burst into tears and screamed, Mr. Cake said they left the burners on, but Pinkie didn't believe him. She got up and left, I tried to follow her, but she pushed me away. I could tell she thought Fluttershy did this, but even if she did, why and how could she. I was scared, I went back to Fluttershy's to see if she was home. I lifted my hoof with caution and knocked. No, answer, I was walking away when I heard her voice, "Rainbow, I..is that you?" I turned around and I saw her through a crack in the door.
"Fluttershy it's me. What happened with you and Pinkie today?" I asked her. She didn't answer she just opened the door. She was bleeding, her face was clawed at by something and she looked scared. I asked what happened, and she said Pinkie did it to her. I went in and we talked.
"She gave a gift and said it was to show our friendship, I opened it and lights came out of it. Each light hit my face and made me look like this. I was mad so I pushed her, after that I went for a long walk. I was going to say sorry, but Sugarcube Corner was on fire. I thought Pinkie was in there and... I thought...s..she." Fluttershy began to cry at the thought of Pinkie being dead. I don't know what's going on, did Pinkie really hurt Flutershy?
"Hey now, it's okay Fluttershy, Pinkie is fine I think we should talk to her though. She seems real upset."I said to my friend.
"O..okay Dash. If you think it will help. You will be with me right?" Fluttershy said as she whipped her eyes.
I looked at her and smiled, "Of course I'll be with you. What are friends for right." She giggled and then we left.
We searched for Pinkie everywhere, but we couldn't seem to find her. Fluttershy and I decided to do a quick fly over to see if we could find her. Fluttershy saw her first, we rushed down and stopped her.
"Pinkie I found Fluttershy. You two can talk now." I said to the pink pony. She looked at me with a surprised look, I saw a little fear in her eyes. Fluttershy came down and the two friends started to talk. Fluttershy was full of anger at Pinkie for the gift that had hurt her. Pinkie was confused, she had no Idea that was going to happen to the Pegasus

"What do you mean my gift did that to you? The gift was supposed to be spring snakes. I don't know why it would be light cutting your face. I...I'm sorry Fluttershy." Pinkie said as she lowered her head. Fluttershy went over to Pinkie Pie and gave her a hug, she and I could tell Pinkie was sad.
"It's okay Pinkie. I'm fine see." Fluttershy said.
"I know it wasn't your fault, you didn't know that light what was in there. But how did that light get in there?" I looked at Fluttershy with the same look, how did that light get in there? Pinkie didn't know, she said she had the spring snakes ready for weeks. It just sat in her house before it burnt down. She said the only place she took it was Rarity's place. Maybe she knew.
"I'm going to go ask Rarity. Will you two be okay while I'm gone?" I asked.
"Of course Dash, Pinkie and I will be fine. Thank you." Fluttershy said with her calm sweet voice. I spread out my wings, got my footing, and took off. I felt the wind flow through my mane and felt the wind brush past my feathers. For a slight moment I felt free, I felt as if everything was okay, I felt as if life it self just stopped. Then...my eyes opened.
