Chapter 27

Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Cheeriliee raced out of the bar at an alarming pace. Pressured by their time constraint, the three spared no luxury when running. Luckily for them the local town hall was right up the corner.

Fluttershy felt the pressure in the back of her head. The thought of losing her precious baby was over whelming her emotions, she had to keep running.

Rainbow Dash extended her hand to the weakened Fluttershy.

“Come on Flutters, we need you to be strong” Rainbow Dashed smirked.

Fluttershy looked up at her best friend; the town hall was just another two flights of stairs.

Rainbow looked down at her friend; the heavy breathing of Fluttershy confused her. She looked to her right at Cheerilee who was patiently tapping her foot while offering a confused shrug.

Fluttershy breathed heavily a second. She looked at her friend’s and nodded, “Just go!” and with that the she and her friends made another sprint towards the overwhelmingly impressive stone building which their meeting was being held in.

Rainbow Dash was the first to make it to the check-in desk, tired she slammed the bell with her curled up fist. An albeit posh executive stiff with circular glasses smirked, “You’re two minutes late” she gestured towards a door to her left.

Not wasting anytime Rainbow grabbed the handle tight, she turned to her friend letting go of the handle and hugging onto her timid friend. She started to graze her hand up and down Fluttershy’s back, taking a deep breath she closed her eyes and triumphantly smiled “This is it Flutters, you’re going to be a mommy.”

Fluttershy’s smile lit up as she wiped a tear off of her face with her sweater.

“Go on Dashie, open the door” Fluttershy smiled nodding at her friend.

Rainbow Dash turned the door handle and pushed lightly. The three were awestruck to discover the freighting image inside.

Sitting on the left side of a long black wood finished table were two rather barley looking figures. To the right was the mayor and a free seat and in the center on the far end of the table away from the entrance was a black leather chair. Most odd was a police man standing to the left of the room looking at the couple causally.

The major halfsmiled nodding at the two welcoming them, “Come in, we’ve been inspecting you”.

Fluttershy’s face was coated in a hot red blush as she walked to her seat. Sitting down she noticed Cheerilee taking seat by the mayor and a firm hand leaning on her shoulder.

She looked back; Rainbow Dash was crouching confidently behind her smiling.

The major lifted her hand in front of her mouth making a small fist; she coughed to gain everyone’s attention. “Eh-hmm? Now, we’re to discuss whether or not Fluttershy here is up to your two’s liking?”

Rainbow Dash panned to the right of her friend and slammed her fist on the table looking at the vile looking man and women on the left side of the table, “What? You’re going these two a break? Mayor are you insane?”

Fluttershy lifted gripped Rainbow Dash’s hand, whispering she said “Please, Rainbow calm down I’m sure they’re just-“
“Hey you better listen to your friend now” the barley man to the of the room left yelled.

The man was obese, not fat but obese. His arm covered in tattoos, white knuckles and a straight cut hairdo. Meanwhile his wife was very skinny. She had long black hair, bared sunglasses which were too big for her, and was wearing nothing but jeans and a white tank top.

The major acted confused, she stared at the adopter applicants before she turned her attention back to the foster parents. She rolled her eyes, “Anyhow, I have the document ready to sign. One signature and Scootaloo will be all theirs.

The man smirked looking at Rainbow dash; he licked the tip of the pen and dipped his hand down to sign the papers.

Fluttershy turned her head at the couple, “Y-you really mean it? I-I can have her” Fluttershy’s face beamed.

The man looked at the giddy girl and smirked, “I didn’t want that brat anyway. She was nothin’ but trouble...”

Rainbow Dash gripped Fluttershy’s shoulder hard. Fluttershy sighed looking at the couple, “No sir- she was just- she just needed…” Rainbow Dash sighed looking the husband directly in the eye, “What my friend is trying to say is that Scootaloo is an awesome kid. You guys weren’t being good parents.”

The wife interjected, a bit indignantly she snapped her fingers and said with a frown “We were plenty good, she just didn’t appreciate anything we did for her…” the black hair women turned her friend at Fluttershy, “… watch out she’s really ungreatful.”

Fluttershy stared at the women, her mouth open from the unbelievable statement the foster mom was producing. Fluttershy’s face turned red as she stood up and pointed a finger at the couple, “Listen you-you meanies! Scootaloo is a wonderful, sweet little angel. If she was ever in a sour mood it was because you two didn’t care, you didn’t buy her clothes, youd didn’t encourage her, and you didn’t even bother to help her with her school work-you just-just…”

Rainbow cocked her head and looked into the foster dad’s eyes, “Yeah, you don’t even care do you? You came here to make sure this was final because you didn’t want her. You know she has nightmares about you locking her in the closet? After spending a single day with Fluttershy, she felt safer with her than she ever did with you!”

The couple frowned looking at each other. They looked back at Rainbow Dash; her tiny pink lips cracked into a smirk.
The major grinned looking at the police officer, “Deputy Shining, you got that all?”

The police officer grinned, “Haha, certainly did.” The blue haired, blue suited police officer jotted down on a small note pad before putting both the pen and pad into his front pocket. He walked over to Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy extending his hand. A bit confused about the Twilight’s brother’s expression.

“Wha-what are you smiling about? T-this is serious” Fluttershy said looking at him quizzically.

The Shining smiled shaking Rainbow Dash’s and Fluttershy’s hands. He walked up to the exhausted Fluttershy and smiled, “M’am, first of all I want to say what a good sport you’ve been keeping your temperature down enough so that you didn’t go ahead and punch these wonderful actors playin’ the foster parents.”

Fluttershy smiled a bit confused, she turned head towards Rainbow Dash but she too just shugged. Fluttershy tapped the police officer on his shoulder re-focusing his attention, Smiling she politely asked “Umm… actors?”

The police officer smirked, “Yeah, these weren’t the real foster parents, they were just actors the mayor here hired to provoke you. The police department was concerned about the overwhelming amount of distress calls coming from Scootaloo’s foster house.”

Fluttershy sat down back in her chair and staired up at the police man, “Oh, I-I still don’t quite understand, why’d you have to hire actors?”

The Shining Armor rolled his eyes smiling at the still confused Fluttershy, “Well I got a search warrant for Scootaloo’s foster house two days ago, that and a lot of neighborhood testimonies about yelling and even screaming from their house. I searched inside but all I found was an abandoned home, a lot of broken furniture, messy countertops. Really not a safe environment for any young child. We needed a genuine testimony for confirmation to make the child neglect charges real.”

Fluttershy’s eyes started to water, she covered her face in her arms and began to sob, “H-how could t-they let h-her live like that.?”

The male actor put his meaty hand on Fluttershy’s left arm, “Listen, umm… Fluttershy? You don’t know how much you helped out the police department. They needed that final testimony, and because of you the real foster parents will pay for what they did to your child.” His voice was stern, but in a strange way reassuring.

Rainbow Dash started to rub Fluttershy’s back in a soothing circular motion, “You did great Flutters, trust me I didn’t react but that was pretty brave of you. I would have gladly given a testimony but I suppose they needed to make sure it was authentic?” Rainbow Dash starred at the mayor.

The mayor smiled, “Awh, why yes I did Rainbow.” The Mayor paused a moment allowing Rainbow Dash to hear her words. She smiled and re-directed her attention to Fluttershy with a small smile on her face, “Well on a lighter note I have something very
important for you to sign.” Not wasting anytime the mayor reached a paper from a binder on her lap and set it in front of Fluttershy setting a pen next to it.

Rainbow Dash walked to Fluttershy’s side and embraced her in a hug. The two remained there for a second taking in the seldom moment.

Regaining her strength Fluttershy lifted her head; she weakly gripped the pen and started to etch her signature, ‘Fluttershy’.

The mayor stood up keeping her binder close by her side and stashing the document back into safety. She patted Fluttershy’s shoulder kneeling down next to her, quietly she whispered “I know this was a lot to take in but think about all the good you did today. Not just for Scootaloo but for Rainbow Dash, and even for you community. You’re a hero Fluttershy, you’re a hero.”

Fluttershy’s tears lessened as she looked around the room, glances from every person made her blush, weakly she mumbled “what?”

The Shining weakly smiled grabbing Fluttershy’s left shoulder, “Come on Fluttershy, there’s a little girl in school waitin’ for her mommy.

Rainbow Dash chuckled tightening her hug around Fluttershy, she whispered in her ear, “There’s also another little baby with her mommy this very moment.”

Fluttershy laughed lightly, she turned her head and directed a question at Twilight’s Brother, “Excuse me uh- Mr.Shining? Um… what time is it?”.

Shining armor pointed at a clock above Mrs.Cheerliee’s head, “It is, umm… noon-ish. You still have plenty of time before the school lets out if I’m not mistaking?” Shining guided his attention to Mrs.Cheerilee.

Mrs.Cheerlie stared up at Shining raising her eyebrow at him, she broke out of her trance in a confused state, “What now? Sorry I’m still about dazed about the conversation that just went on here. I knew Scootaloo had issues with her parents, but I wasn’t aware of how much they affected her.”

Rainbow Dash smirked, “Sounds like someone needs to quit using, ‘what they’ve learned’ and start focusing on ‘what they could learn’.”

Cheerilee’s eye twitched at Rainbow’s true but annoying statement, in retaliation she smirked gazing down at rainbow’s short’s, “Hump, funny thing is when you stop remembering what you learn you start forgetting how to handle the simple things…” She gazed up at Rainbow’s magenta eyes raising her brow, “Like using the potty.”

Rainbow’s face grew a dark red tint as she subconsciously began pulling up her running shorts, crossing her arms she called to her mommy, “Come on Fluttershy, can we leave? We outta’ get on our way if we’re going to make it back home to the school in time.
*Meanwhile…

Scootaloo sat atop Lyra’s lap being trapped between her arms; the classroom was silent other than the slight joyful laughter coming from the other school children outside.

Lyra looked at the child’s face, Scootaloo looked half-asleep and they weren’t even a quarter way through the book. A little bit concerned of Scootaloo’s bedwetting problem she nuzzled the child with her nose and quietly whispered, “Come on Scoots, focus.”

Scootloo repressed a yawn on her breath extending her arms high in the air. She hugged Lyra a bit tighter and rested her head of her chest, only half awake Scootaloo muttered, “Sorry Lyra, I- I read the pages and I get dizzy then I lose focus.”

Lyra looked concerned at the child, she frowned “Come on Scootaloo, I know you can do it. Listen just fellow my hand.”

Scootaloo nodded focusing her attention back on the brightly colored page in front of her. Slowly Lyra started saying in unison, “The itsy-bitsy spider” she allowed Scootaloo to read on her own…

“C-cl-climbed”

“up”

“the”

“wat-er”

“spo-spou”

Scootaloo looked back at Lyra blushing, “I-I don’t know… I’m sorry I just….”

Lyra retracted her right hand from the back to pat Scottaloo on the back, she smiled reassuringly as she talked to the child “Come on Scootaloo, I know you’re smart. You just have to relax.”

Scootaloo nodded readdressing the book in front of her, cautiously she read…

“The itsy-bitsy spider, c-came up the water sp-, came up the water spout?

Lyra smiled hugging Scootaloo with her free arm, she beamed “See Scootaloo, I knew you could do it!”

Scootaloo blushed, Lyra realigning the book in front of her the student started reading again, “The Itsy-bisty spider climb-ed up the water sp-out, down c-came the rain and w-wash-ed the spider out.”

Lyra leaned in to hug the child again, “That’s enough Scootaloo, I’m sure Cheerliee will want to see how much your reading skills has improved!”

Scootaloo beamed, “Wow, you really think so?”

Lyra smiled back, “I know so, now you go out and play! You deserve it!”

*Meanwhile…*

The two mares strolled down the business district of the city and slowly found the houses around them turning from skyscrapers to suburban homes. The two of them had remained silent and both of them shared big grins as the thought kept repeating itself in their mind.

Rainbow Dash broke the silence by slinging her arm around the timid mother, “Can you believe it Fluttershy? You’re an actual mommy now!”

Fluttershy blushed refocusing attention at her feet, “Yeah I know…” Fluttershy’s smile dimmed as a thought came to mind, “But I don’t know if I can handle being her mommy, what if she doesn’t like how I’m treating her right now? What if-“

Rainbow chuckled, “Come on Flutters, you’ve been taking care of her for three days now. And what do you mean you’re worried about how you’re treating her, if anything you should do focus more on being caring. She loves acting like a baby!”

Fluttershy’s smile re-appeared, “Yeah, I guess you’re right? I was wondering, maybe we could go to a babystore and get Scottaloo some more stuff to play with?“

Rainbow Dash stopped in her tracks to look at her friend, her smile busted into an even bigger one as she jumped in the air, “Fluttershy, that’s a great idea! Maybe we could buy her some new toys, or maybe even a dress or something?”

Fluttershy blushed, “Alright. But I want to buy her something really special, you know?” Fluttershy’s face got even redder, “My baby…”

Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes, “I know, Scootaloo is your’s now.”

Fluttershy giggled, “I know, I just like the sound of it”

The both of them laughed a bit before calming down. They made a turn, Rainbow Dash held Fluttershy’s hand as she guided her friend to “Binky Bottom’s Baby shop”.

The two soon found themselves standing directly in front of the massive bunny pink/baby blue painted shop. Stepping inside Rainbow Dash’s mouth dropped.

Rainbow Dash’s facial expression turned happy again as she turned to Fluttershy, “Flutters, Oh my goodness. Why didn’t you take me here sooner?”

Fluttershy giggled at her baby’s excitedness, “Well I’ve had my hands full, feel free to pick out a few things for yourself”
Rainbow Dash shook her head, “No I couldn’t do that.”

Fluttershy put hugged her friend as tight as her weak arms could perform, smiling she whispered into her friend’s ear “Come on Dashie, you’re my baby and I want to make you happy.”

Rainbow Dash smiled a moment still trying hard not to swallow her pride, she looked at her friend’s face pressing against her should and sighed, “All right, if you insist.”

With that Rainbow Dash grabbed a basket and ran into one of the random isle ways causing Fluttershy to giggle some more.

The two strolled down the aisle ways for what seemed to them likes days, epically Rainbow Dash. She eyed all the different objects at her disposal; pacifiers, diapers, toy sets, stuffed animals. Rainbow couldn’t quite pin point why she felt so excited but she did; almost like she was a kid again.

Several minutes later she met up with Fluttershy with a basket full of randomly assorted items.

Fluttershy giggled at the site, “Did my baby find everything she wanted?”

Rainbow Dash shifted her eyes left to right to make sure no one heard her friend’s remark, with a small blush Rainbow Dash whispered akin to how Fluttershy speaks “Yeah umm…” Rainbow Dash hugged her friend with her free arm, “Thank you”.

Fluttershy broke out of the hug slowly. She stepped up to a small white bunny rabbit plushy on the wall and grabbed it putting it in her cart. She counted her items, she’d carried many necessities; more powder, some more lego’s, a few articles of clothing, and…

“Babyfood?” Rainbow Dash questioned.

Fluttershy started strolling to the checkout counter keeping her mind clear of distraction, it just caught up to her that there was still a diaper between her own legs that contradicted her regular step pattern. Blushing Fluttershy put her and Rainbow’s basket on the checkout counter and waited for the clerk to ring it up.

Fluttershy's mind out of focus she starred at the old women working the checkout register. She looks 19, she's blond, and she's wearing a pair of Lennon glasses. I can tell she's smart, she can see it, she know she can tell I'm wearing it! ‘She better not see it’ Fluttershy whispered to herself.

“Excuse me m’am, cash, debit, or credit?” the cheerful young lady asked.

Fluttershy blushed as her words became quieter, “Umm… I reserved two special items about a week ago?”

The young miss smiled looking under the counter, “Are you Fluttershy?”

Fluttershy’s mind was scattered she thought a moment putting her finger on her bottom lip and staring at the electronic cash register, “Umm… Yes. Please cancel the blue one though.”

The blond cashier reached under the counter and pulled out a decently sized rectangular box, “Alrighty, here you go m’am now how will you be paying?”

Fluttershy smiled, she reached into her back pocket pulling out a pink leather purse, she cringed as her hand raced against her diaper that was on her backside.

With a shaky movement she slowly opened the pouches’ zipper and pulled out a blue debit card, with an even shaker gesture she handed it to the lady.

Swiping the card the women pushed the box forward and handed over the paper bags. “Have a nice day m’am” she called.

Fluttershy gathering tears in her eyes ran out of the store with the bags. Rainbow Dash grabbed the box in her arms and looked at the checkout lady with an awkward smile, “Excuse me, I was with her.” With that Rainbow Dash ran after her friend.

Fluttershy stepped in front of the glass display and broke down crying; she dropped the bags and fell to her knees. Thankfully Rainbow Dash was the only one to be coursing the streets at the time. She knelt down beside her friend and wrapped her in a hug from the back.

Rainbow dashed frowned a bit seeing her friend in distress, “Come on Fluttershy, she didn’t even notice.”

Fluttershy looked up, “She may have not, but think of everyone else that has?” She continued to sob.

Rainbow Dash whispered in her friend’s ear, “Flutters, people don’t care if you and I wear diapers.”

Fluttershy tug her face further into her arms, her sleeves muffling what should have been a loud yell, “But they do care! You say they should just mind their own business but some people just want to hurt others. Why do you think I stopped wearing diapers?”

Rainbow Dash lifted Fluttershy up to her feet, grunting she lifted the weight of both Fluttershy and the bags up. “Come on Fluttershy, You have to be strong; you’re our mommy… even if you have a crinkly butt.” Rainbow teased patting Fluttershy’s backside.

Fluttershy got started a bit before smiling lightly, she sniffed one last time before nodding her head “You’re right, Rainbow. I need to be strong… for my babies.”

Rainbow Dash stood up smiling, “That’s the attitude Crinkle Butt, we can talk about it when we get home alright?”

The two of them laughed a moment re-gaining there balance with their luggage in hand. Fluttershy looked over her shoulder at her friend, “Umm… thanks Rainbow. I don’t know what I’d do without you. We outta go home though, we can set up my surprise gift for scootaloo when we get there.”

Rainbow Dash nodded, stepping briskfully the two started their way back home. Although a bit disappointed of their inability to pick her up from school, they’re determined to get the gifts home.

*Two hours later*

Rainbow Dash hit the door notch quickly with her hand and butt-bumped the large wooden door open. Rebalancing her movements Rainbow did a 180 degree turn and fell down with the box on Fluttershy’s hard wood floor.

Fluttershy walked in pushing the door shut behind her. She set the bags on top of the box and got on her knees next to Rainbow.

Fluttershy started to rub up and down her friend’s back calmly as Rainbow let out one long continuous “ow…”

Rainbow sat on her patted rump and leaned backwards into her Fluttershy, a single tear fell down her face as she surpressed the pain.

Fluttershy went into mother mood, she knelt down next to Rainbow’s knee and kissed it’s rugburned surface. She cooed, “Awh, poor baby. Don’t worry, Mommy will make it all better.”

Rainbow’s smirked turned into light chuckling, “Mommy, I don’t think kisses will make this owe feel better.”

Fluttershy smiled kissing the Rainbow’s boo-boo, “Come on now Dashie, let me help you to the couch.”

Fluttershy slung her arm around her baby’s slender torso as Rainbow Dash stood up on one leg. A bit over exaggerated Rainbow Dash hopped on one foot to the couch area.

Turning away, Fluttershy grabbed into one of the bags and pulled out a pacifier Rainbow Dash had selected. It was as big as the orange one Rainbow had given Scootaloo and likewise it nullified her efforts to speak.

Fluttershy ripped open its colorful blue packaging and dropped the pacifier and a pink/white lanyard into her hand; she walked over to her incapacitated baby and without hesitation; bent down and gently pushed it into her mouth.

Rainbow Dash reach for the pacifier in an attempt to pull it out but Fluttershy put her hand infront of it making the baby’s efforts impossible. Fluttershy grabbed rainbow’s forehead on each side and leaned in to kiss it. She then attached one plastic hook to the pacifier and one her baby’s bright blue hoodie.

Blushing Rainbow Dash watched as her mommy knelt down on eye level with her, “Now Dashie, don’t move from this spot alright? I’m going to put Scootaloo’s presents in gift bags alright?” Her mommy smiled and playfully skipped upstairs to the master bedroom.

Following the sounds of the noise Fluttershy was making Rainbow Dash quickly identified the opening of a closet shutter and the crinkling sounds of paper. All of a sudden out of the corner of her eye from her position the couch she sees Fluttershy with many colorful festivity bags and wrapping paper.

Like clockwork Fluttershy looked at the each item, found the exact right bag and matched each one together. Some of the wrappable stuff was also noticeable, a lot of small boxes and other accessories she’d purchased we’re diligently being sealed with her find craftsman hand.

Before she knew it the clock changed from 1:45 to 2:30, the sun shined brightly through the window, and the only one thing remained unwrapped aside from Rainbow’s stuff.

Fluttershy grunted lifting up the decently heavy box. Walking to her right she maneuvered in front of the T.V and set the sizable box right in front of her baby.

Rainbow Dash now alleviated from pain stretched out on the couch. Other than a slight yawn Rainbow Looked completely content with herself.

Smirking she raised an eyebrow at her friend, “What’s with the packaging? You do realize I’ve been watching you wrap for almost an hour now, right?”

Fluttershy frowned, “Oh I’m sorry rainbow, I should have turned on the T.V for you.”

Rainbow Dash thudded herself in the head with her palm, ‘how come she didn’t think of that’?
Fluttershy’s expression became more jovial as she leaned next to Rainbow Dash, “I just really wanted to give her some presents, I doubt her meanie foster parents ever got her anything.”

Rainbow Dash pondered that for a moment before smiling, “Yeah… you’re right! You know you really are a great mommy, you know that right?”

Fluttershy blushed, “Oh, I don’t know… Now, to take care of this box.”

“Say Fluttershy?” Rainbow Asked.

“Yes Honey?” Fluttershy re-focused her attention to her baby.

Rainbow Dash pointed at the box in front of her, “What’s in the box?”
