Feather and I woke up earlier than we're used to. We didn't even eat breakfast, we just grabbed a quick snack as we left for the royal castle in Canterlot. We didn't say anything on our way there. Actually, we hadn't said a whole lot ever since the discovery we made yesterday.
Even though I didn't say anything, I was thinking so everypony would be able to hear it, and came to the conclusion that I'm in an alternate version of Equestria, which explains why Twilight doesn't have wings and why the mane six have no recollection of for example Queen Chrysalis.
We arrived in Canterlot and went for the castle. When we reached the castle we were stopped by three guards. "Halt! Who goes there?"
Can you believe it? It was the same guards as when I first came there. "'Sup guys! Remember me?"
They looked at me, but somehow couldn't remember me. "No. Should we?"
"It's me!" They were completely silent. "Cloudy Pillow? Does that ring a bell?" There were more piercing silence. "We met just a few days ago... you found me a place to stay for the night..." This was starting to get stupid. "I demanded to see Shining Armor."
They finally remembered me. "Ah yes, it's you! that wierd guy! Have you come to see the princess again?" One of them said.
I just ignored their attempt at irritating me and said: "As a matter of fact, yes! And this time, I'm actually awaited!"
"Are you now?" Another one said. "Got any proof?"
"Am I enough proof?" Celestia came trotting out. "Let him pass, please. Cloudy, Feather, this way."
We walked through the castle, and I was still bothered by all of the fanciness inside.
When we reached Celestia's quarters we walked in on a... very awkward scene. It looked like Luna and Discord was fighting. "Luna found out that Discord had put a spell on her while she was Nightmare Moon." Celestia explained. "If you two could stop fighting we should find out what Cloudy has to say!" Upon saying that Luna and Discord just froze.
We all sat down while I explained what everypony discovered the day before. Suddenly, Luna got tears in her eyes. "I... I remember. My child... I sent him away so he could live with a family... I never imagined something like this would happen... So thou art... my son?" She burst out into crying.
Her crying had an effect on me. She cried just like this when she sent me to earth! I had always felt like there was something missing, like my family wasn't as it was supposed to be. "Mother... I've missed you so much!" Now it was just me and my mother hugging each other while crying. It was the happiest moment of my life
When we were done, Celestia said: "So from how I understand it, Cloudy won't become his real self before he has transformed several times. So I think we should just wait. Cloudy and Feather, you two return to Ponyville and live normally until Cloudy becomes himself."
"Sound good to me." Discord said. "Well, I'll see you all later!" He then disappeared in a flash. Afterwards, the rest of us dispanded. Luna gave me a crystal ball which could be used as a direct communicator between us.
When Feather and I arrived back in Ponyville, I decided to take a stroll around the outskirts of town. After I walked for a good fifteen minutes, Applejack ran into me. "Ah! Sorry there, pardner! Say? Have y'all seen Apple Bloom around? She's been gone for an hour!"
I was so used to ramming into things and vice-versa that I didn't even need time to recover. "I'll help you look!" I simply said and ran almost as fast as Pinkie, straight into Everfree Forest. After having ran for a while, I heard a filly scream. "APPLE BLOOM!!!" I shouted and ran even faster. I found her being chased by timberwolves! I kept running faster and faster and faster until...
I came to my senses and saw to my surprise a bunch of ashes in front of me and behind me; Apple Bloom. From what I could gather at that moment, I somehow burned the timberwolves to death while protecting Apple Bloom. I tried to stretch my wing so I could fly her home, but I couldn't feel them. I looked at my sides and saw that I had transformed into an earth pony! I had a crimson coat, orange and yellow mane. Somehow I had gotten golden... "bracelets" I guess you could call them. One on the upper part of each leg, and one on the lower part of my hind legs. The timberwolves appearently got a single hit in on me, because a part of my left ear was chipped of. My silver watch was being heated so it was glowing white, and finally, my cutie mark was now a heart on fire.
Suddenly, Big Mac and Applejack appeared. "Are ya alright, sugarcube!? You're not hurt, are you!?"
Apple Bloom just stood there and stared at me and said: "I... I'm alright. Thanks to him." She pointed at me.
Applejack went over to me. "Thank you for helpin' her. Who are you anyway?"
I thought for second, then I said: "Let's go back to the farm first, this may take some time."
We went back to Sweet Apple Acres, where I explained the situation and I honestly don't know what's crazier: the fact that all this happened, or the fact that they believed me. I wouldn't believe me! Anyway, After the explanation me and Applejack started talking. "Have you ever felt that you would do anything to protect your family?"
That question caught me off guard. "No. I haven't. See, my whole life I haven't had a real family. I only found it today actually. So I've never had a family that I could rely on. Even in my fake family, there was only one person I could truly depend on."
"Ah! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to-"
"No. It's alright. You had no way of knowing." There was an awkward moment of silence. "You know, I'm actually quite jealous of you. You have a family that always stays together, and me? I was sent away at birth. I wish I could be part of the Apple family."
It suddenly looked like Applejack's mood had been lifted. "But you can! We can just adopt you into the family!" She ran outside and rang a bell there, then Big Mac, Apple bloom and Granny Smith arrived soon after. Applejack told them of her idea. "Those who vote for Cloudy being officially adopted into the family, say yes! Applejack, Apple Bloom and Granny Smith all shouted 'YES!', while Big Mac just said 'eeyup.'. "It's official then! Welcome to the family, Cloudy Apple Pillow!"
"HIP HIP, HOORAY! HIP HIP, HOORAY! HIP HIP, HOORAY!"
And with that, I returned home and told Feather about the news, and she congratulated me, served an omelette for dinner followed by an apple pie for dessert, and I went to bed happily for the first time in years.
