A Dragon's Tears
In a part of the wastelands ruled by dragons is a graveyard, one that is for dragons of the past and present who were killed. This is sacred grounds for the Dragon Clans and anyone who trespass will be punished...unless given permission otherwise.
Today, a group of ponies has arrived, waiting patiently as Celestia, the princess, set Spike down. The baby dragon held out flowers while looking towards a lone grave. He turns to his grandfather who is waiting nearby with of the Dragons, the Council members, and Draco along with the new Dragons of Equestria.
"So...that's it?" Spike asks his grandfather King Spykoran the Old hopefully.
"Of course, Spike. Go ahead, have your privacy of silence. We will be right here." King Spykoran advises his grandson who nods and heads forward.
"Ugh, why are we even here again?" Diamond Tiara ask bored as she, Silver Spoon and their parents are in the crowd waiting.
"Diamond, ssh! You're lucky I apologize to the princess for your rude behavior at Spike's funeral the other day so that you can be here!" Filthy Rich snaps to his daughter sternly. "This is a sacred land for dragons and I won't let you disrespect it."
The Mane Six, Ben, Nyx, the CMC and Phobos watch on. Fluttershy looks around meekly while saying, "My...this is a...scary place for burying dragons. Is it all right for us to be here?"
"Fluttershy calm down. We're doing this for Spike." Twilight assures to Fluttershy with a smile. "We are here to support him."
"Sssh, he's there right now." Ben whispers to the others in the group.
Spike goes up to the grave, sighing as he said, "Hey...mom."
Indeed, Spike is in front of the grave which labeled 'Here Lies Sindel, Husband of a Monster, A Mother to Two, another one is a Monster. Enemies Beware. Her Death Shall Be Avenged'. The baby dragon doesn't find that label memorable at all.
Spike continues, "So...this is where you were since your demise, eh? Sorry I wasn't around to visit you. I didn't even know your existence until now. I heard how you tried to give yourself up during dad's capture...but...I just wish you were alive. It isn't fair."
Spike shed some tears while saying, "I wish...Lorcan and I saw you when you were still alive, mom. We would've been...well, speaking of which, Lorcan, sadly, took after dad...hating ponies, declaring war and...you should've seen him. I know you would've been ashamed of him like I was."
Spike wipes away some tears, continuing, "Still...I got rid of Lorcan's darkness...and he and I reconcile...up to his demise. I wonder what you saw in dad...or if he forced you to marry him. Sometimes...I wonder. If things have changed...would you have talk dad and Lorcan out of their mad quests? Or would they have killed you?"
Spike looks to his grandfather waiting, adding, "I met my grandpa, yeah, King Spykoran the Old who is the original Spike of centuries ago...and I know that I still got some of my old family left. The ponies were nice to me...yeah, I end up lashing out at them but we forgave one another. Brrr, I hate to think what would've happen otherwise. With the war that my brother made, both sides are doing our best to rebuilt, try to rekindle relationship ruined."
Spike sighs, putting down the flowers while saying, "Anyway, mother, I came to say...goodbye and while I don't know you true enough, I know you are watching from where all dragons go when they die. Though it is to a heaven or Tartarus...well, I guess this is it. Goodbye, mother. I know I will see you again someday..."
Spike, now finished, goes over to the waiting crowd of ponies and such. Rarity smiles while asking, "Are you at peace now?"
"A little bit. I still miss her but I know she's watching always from a heaven where all dragons go."
"More like Tartarus where all dragon freaks end up. You got no hope left, should've stay dead." Diamond Tiara remarks with a scoff making Spike glares at her.
"Diamond, better cool it." Apple Bloom said to Diamond Tiara sternly. "You're going..."
"What? What will Spike do now? He can't harm me! The dragon doesn't even know his lame wimp of a mother. He's..."
"Shut up, shut up; shut up!" Spike snarls as he goes up to Diamond Tiara, getting into her face. "This is a sacred graveyard and you won't disrespect me or my mother that way! If it weren't for me or my friends, you would've been dead or your loved ones! How would you like it if I do the same thing to you?! Would you like it, Diamond Brat?! Would you like it?"
Diamond Tiara gulps then hides behind his mother, getting scared. Filthy Rich sighs in annoyance while saying to King Spykoran the Old, "I apologize, your majesty. I can't take my daughter anywhere."
"I know how you feel. I got through the same thing with my son Tadaka." King Spykoran said with a grunt, "Sometimes a disrespected one that is."
Soon it is time to go, the ponies and dragons prepare to take their leave, the Mane Six, Ben, Spike, and Celestia remain behind. Rainbow comments, "Spike, you going to be okay?"
"Yeah...feeling a bit sappy but I should be fine." Spike assures Rainbow with a light chuckle.
"Good, hate to think you would end up being messed up more so than usual after your...well...your temporarily 'death'."
"Don't remind me."
"Spike, I got something to give you." Celestia said as she gives a familiar weapon to Spike which he takes. "This is restored, better than ever. I think it's for the best that you keep it."
Spike looks at the weapon, then looks concerned while asking, "You sure? This weapon..."
"You are a hero now, Spike, so it's best to continue doing what you do best: defending your friends and family against the forces of evil."
"...thank you. I will do my best."
"Come on, Spike." Twilight said as she got Spike on her own back. "Let's go on home."
Everyone begins taking their departure; Spike has one more look at his mother's grave then continues riding Twilight as they leave. His mother may be gone but he will know that she is watching always.
Of course, unknown to everyone, no one saw something watching from a cliff nearby, glaring evilly, mostly at the princesses and Spike.
"Enjoy your victory and moment of silence...because someday, I will get my revenge." The figure remarks evilly before leaving, no one saw him disappearing from sight.
