//------------------------------// // Chapter // Story: Scent // by CrimsonEquine //------------------------------// The scent was strong. It lifted Fluttershy up through the eternal night that encompassed all. She soared high, ferociously flapping her wings to pick up speed, all driven by the desperate need to find that smell. Her mane turned feral and strange, her eyes red with two fangs that could pierce through soft tissue and wings with bat-like quality. Fluttershy soared, the moon watching from above as it shined red. Making her way through the cold air and the lights of Ponyville below, Fluttershy soon passed through the pony infested town. The unbearably strong scent became thicker and Fluttershy closed in on Canterlot Castle. She crashed right into a window, rolling through the carpet, and stood upright, stretching her bat wings and licking her lips in pursuit of something incredibly glorious. Fluttershy stopped and raised her snout, scanning the air for the source. Looking around her, she trotted while sniffing the air, following her nose through the hallway leading to Princess Celestia’s throne. She looked to her right to find two guards galloping to her with spears in their teeth. They watched her eyes become wide agape, it instilled obedience and it came upon them like an ocean of paralysis. The guards dropped their weapons and felt the wave of sleep envelope them, and they fell to the ground in ten seconds flat, sleeping soundly in their induced dreams. After taking care of the two guards, Fluttershy finally opened the door to the entrance. The throne room was as Fluttershy remembered, with the seat of power sitting atop of a set of stairs. The Scent was amazing and close–she was drooling at the power of it. She made her way past the throne room, entering the door near the throne that led to the kitchen. The usual fare of ovens and a refrigerator as well as a table made of white-colored ceramic was located inside. It surprised the vampiric Fluttershy; she had never expected something so amazing to be located someplace so casual. Suddenly, the scent became overflowing, Fluttershy was stuck in place, then couldn't wait any longer. She trotted her way to the dinner room and found the source of such perfection. Fluttershy was surprised, she was hesitant to approach what she just saw. The Princess of the Night was stirring a potion while sitting on a wooden chair, wearing a spiraling hat and a black dress with red lining spiraling on its tresses, and smiling with a full-toothed grin. A large black cauldron as dark as she, with two metal rings hanging from each side, was sitting right near the glass window underneath the full red moon shining its light from above. She was happy, too happy to be normally expected. It seemed odd to Fluttershy for her to look this way. The smell hit Fluttershy like a brick. She covered her nose with both hoofs, but at this range it was just too much to ignore. Princess Luna looked straight up through the darkness in the kitchen right at the direction Fluttershy hid. “It’s alright, I have been waiting for you.” said Princess Luna. Fluttershy gasped. She took a few steps and out of the kitchen she came, her mouth sweating with dripping hunger. Fluttershy was surprised, yet again. It seemed The Princess had two sharp teeth and ruby-red eyes as well as two bat ears and wings. The Princess dropped her hoofs into the batch of potion, which was a rainbow pool of decadent colors. Out of the cauldron, she pulled a delightfully rainbow-like Zap Apple. It caused Fluttershy to almost lose control and drop her hoofs, letting the waterfall of spit drop from her lips. “Ah, Fluttershy, it seems you are seething with deathly hunger, would you like to join me?” asked Princess Luna, moving the Rainbow Apple right in her line of sight. Fluttershy nodded, frozen in her mixture of surprise and intense craving. Fluttershy opened her wings and instantly flew, biting into the Zap Apple from Luna’s hoof and landing into the ground near The Princess, sucking it dry of its insides. She rose and focused her eyes on The Cauldron, so filled with delicious apples the likes of which Fluttershy could barely process. The flavor of it was still in her mouth, the sweet savory delicacy… it was something that could not be understood or compared with. “More?” asked Fluttershy, her eyes quivering with want and deep corrosive need. Princess Luna looked at the disheveled Fluttershy and ceased her smiling. She looked into her mystical potion and scooped deep inside, smiled, and brought out another Zap Apple. The Princess threw it toward Fluttershy, she caught it and engulfed its insides, biting on it and feeling the ecstasy of penetration, all that was left was the instinct and good feeling of sucking it dry. “Fluttershy, Do you mind if I tell you a story?” Princess Luna turned towards her guest and crossed her legs. Fluttershy only nodded between sucks of the savory fruit. The Princess looked towards the bright red moon, its beautiful red light shining ever onward. “Once upon a time, when times were of different circumstance, around the time I became Nightmare Moon, my sister and I were at ends.”, she threw another Zap Apple with her rainbow covered hoofs for Fluttershy to suck on. “We disagreed on how things should be, and she forbade me to obstruct her ways. So, behind her back, I began to venture to do my own thing.” “It was like any other day…” --- The light of the red moon shone high over the night sky. A black-clothed figure was flying overhead to finally land into the ground near a cave and an ocean front. The cave was deeply dark, but the figure trotted in without fear. After situating herself in the more darker parts, she uncovered her hood to then light up the pitch-black with an alicorn horn and then show her flowing black and blue mane. All around her, there were purple and blue stalactites just about everywhere on the ceiling. She trotted through a cave hole and made her way through the naturally made passage. After trotting for some time, Princess Luna arrived at her destination. “Great one!” From the darkness a little filly bat-pony with a curly mane came out of the unseeable. The filly came close and Princess Luna laughed happily as she hugged the little one tightly. “It’s great that you have returned! Why are you in the false form, Great One?” The Princess stepped back from the little filly and closed her eyes before her horn radiated power. A sheath of purple magic twirled upon her and the magic disappeared leaving Luna as a Bat Pony. Luna smiled, as she lowered her magical horn and was able to see more clearly with her natural eyes. Across the vast cave system, she saw all the hundreds of her fellow bat pony, just watching idly at her return. “I hast returned to my ponies! Thine goddess has arrived !” yelled Princess Luna to all in the cave. They cheered at her presence; The Princess of the Night has come home. They made their way, following the goddess as she went deeper through the darkness, until they finally made it to where she sought most. The city of the bat-ponies was amazing. Stone homes were made with cave rock that were skyscrapers high. Furtive glowing white grass brandished the landscape. She could see it all, all the way from the hole to the city, from the ceiling up high to deep below where all of the land was. Princess Luna felt so happy to be with her ponies once more. She fell and flew through the beautifully empty area onto the city below, with the rest of the vamponies following behind. She flew into her own land and was met with so many of her ponies, she could not have been any happier. “Princess Luna! How dare you!” a loud thundering wake resounded throughout the place. Luna looked up and an angered Tia appeared in luminous fury. The bat-ponies backed away from her landing as The Dark Princess only looked down and sighed. Princess Celestia looked at her sibling with wings spread. “Do you have any idea how defenseless Equestria is!? How can you continue to betray me with these little excursions. And in that form I forbade you to take!” questioned Princess Celestia. “Please, Sister, I am just paying a visit, that is all…” “Return home this instant!” Princess Celestia surrounded them both in a bubble of light and disappeared out of sight. “And that is just a fragment of what I’ve dealt with…” said Princess Luna on her seat. “Now you may not know, but this story pertains to the truth of your true origins. So, sweet Fluttershy, would you fly with me tonight?” Fluttershy nodded happily. Princess Luna opened the window and flew into the night sky under the luminous red moon with Fluttershy following as well.
