//------------------------------// // Eggs by Foxmagik // Story: FlutterMac Group Collab // by ADRNEL //------------------------------// EGGS by Foxmagik FLuttershy dashed through the air as fast as her delicate wings could carry her. Below her a sea of trees blurred into a single green mass as she followed the panicked robin flying ahead of her. She knew the second the tiny bird flew through her window that there was a dire emergency. As the bird dove into the orchard below Fluttershy followed to find exactly what this emergency was. At a particular apple tree surrounded by buckets the robin joined its mate in attacking a large pony on a ladder. “Big Macintosh?” Fluttershy gasped as she saw the pair of birds dive at the earth pony and chirping strings of obscenities she dare not say herself. Quickly flying over to separate the squabble she began defusing the situation. “What in Equestria is going on here?” The enraged birds tweeted a list of angry sounding chirps, during which FLuttershy’s looked to Big Macintosh and finally to the tiny nest in his large hoof. “Oh, now I see. You were just protecting your nest?” the Pegasus asked, to which the robins gave an assured chirp. The tension in the air was broken by Fluttershy giving a dainty giggle. “You don’t have to worry, Mr. and Mrs. Robin.” At this statement she fluttered around the confused red stallion and placed her hooves around his whithers, causing him to tense up like a statue. Had this action not rendered his mind blank Big Macintosh would have given a silent thanks to Celestia his coat hid his growing blush. “Big Macintosh would never hurt you little eggs,” Fluttershy assured the mother and father bird and gave the work horse in question an affectionate smile. “Right, Big Mac?” The earth pony could barely hear the compliment from the adorable Pegasus over the sound of thousands of gears in his mind stripped. As he forced them back into working order he did his wracked his brain for the best words to answer Fluttershy. “…Eeyup.” Things carried well from there. Fluttershy took the nest in her hooves and floated by the parent robins as Big Macintosh gave the tree a kick with a single hoof, shaking it’s ripe red fruits free from the branches. At last the nest was placed safely back upon it branch and mother and father bird nestled quickly to see all their little blue eggs were safe and unharmed. Below them the two ponies each gave a sigh, Big Macintosh thankful that ordeal was over and Fluttershy one of amore as she saw the two birdies snuggle together in their nest. Subconsciously she leaned against the large stallion next to her. Once again Big Mac froze in place, torn between doing the polite thing and pointing out what Fluttershy was doing or basking in having this beautiful mare snuggled up against him. The problem resolved itself all too soon for Big Macintosh as Fluttershy soon lifted herself into the air and away from the dazed earth pony. “Thank you for your help, Big Mac,” she politely stated. “Eeyup…” he replied. “And sorry for all the trouble,” she daintily apologized, folding her arms behind her back. “Eeyup…” he said again, never taking his eyes off of her. An awkward silence followed. Unsure of how to continue the conversation Fluttershy simply decided to end it there. “Well, um, goodbye.” She said as she began flying out of the orchard canopy. “See you again sometime.” “Eeyup…” Sweet Celestia how he hoped so.
