Chapter One: Something I have to do
It was a big day in Ponyville. Well, at least for somepony or should I say: Somedragon. This was Spikes day, the Day he was finally going to tell his love how he felt. He was going to tell her how much he cares for her and nopony would stop him. He was sure about his feelings and Rarity, at least he thought so, would like him back. Sure he thought about what was going to happen if she would pull him down, but he kept this secret far too long:
“It´s time I tell her” Spike told himself standing in front of a mirror in his room. The Room itself was pretty big because Twilight decided to clear out everything. There weren´t any big bookshelves or tons over tons of books. Spike had plenty of room, not that he need it. Spike didn´t grow that much over those 3 Years after Twilight got an Alicorn. He was about as big as a Colt, maybe a bit bigger. Well anyway, his room was too big for him. I know it sounds silly, but Spike often felt lonely in his room. That was also one reason why he decided to tell Rarity about his feelings. Spike was in his room and talked to himself in the mirror, he was sure that today was his lucky day. He went trough the door and down the stairs. Twilight was studying a book. Spike couldn´t remember the title perfectly but it was something about rule a land for dummies or something like that. She thought it was her big chance to be a real princess. Celestia only gave her ´normal´ duties till now. Maybe this was her chance to show her teacher that Twilight was ready to rule a land...and maybe it was Spike´s chance to show Rarity how much she means to him. He was in front of the main-door and opened it.
“goodbye Twilight. I´m heading out” Spike said.
“oh yeah, sure” Twilight said didn´t really listening to Spike.
Spike was about to go trough the door when his attention suddenly changed when Twilight jump up.
“Wait ! Where are you going ?” Twilight asks now looking at Spike.
“Well...” Spike answered a bit nervous “I was about to head on the Carousel Boutique.”
“The Carousel Boutique...why ?” Twilight asks curiously, but before Spike could even answer Twilight spoke again “Are you helping Rarity again. Oh Spike ! This is the third time in this week and we only have Wednesday. I know you like her...but over-helping her might just brush her off you know.” Spike wanted to start again, just to be interrupted again by Twilight “You know I only want your best Spike. You're not only my number one assistant, but also my only family I got here in Ponyville. And after becoming a princess I felt a bit lonely, because I got so much work to do.” These words really hit Spike's feelings. It was good to hear that she still needs him, even after the coronation thingy. Spike was about to say something about his plans again, but again Twilight started. “I don´t want a Spike that feels uncomfortable with his-”
“TWILIGHT !” Spike shouted out so Twilight would finally let him talk. “You know that I won´t let you down, you are like a Sister to me. And I won´t help Rarity today either.”
Twilight was confused “You don´t ?”
“I´m not” Spike confirm her.
“pffuuu” Twilight wiped the sweat off her forehead. “For a second I thought you would hurt yourself for no good.”
Then Spike said proud of himself “I´m gonna tell her how I felt about her.”
“YOU´RE WHAT ?!?!?!?” said Twilight not believing what she just heard.
“I´m telling Rarity that I love her.” Spike said even more confident in his actions.
Twilight felt very sad at this moment, it´s not like she had not talked to Rarity about this topic. Twilight knew about Spike's feelings and wanted to help him, but coming together with Rarity could mean years of sadness for the number one assistant of the new crowned princess is nothing more like a friend. Spike was always so happy to help Rarity, he had this special look on his face, so Twilight couldn´t push herself to tell him. Even now... “Spike...I don´t think that is a good idea...I mean, Rarity is a Pony and you´re a Dragon, I don´t want that she hurts you...”
Spike suddenly didn´t feel too confident, but still he made his mind up. He was going to tell Rarity what he feels and no one could stop him. “Listen Twilight, I got to do that. It´s something that must be done...I mean, it´s been like 5 years since I fall in love with that white beauty and since then...I can´t close my eyes without thinking about her...” Spike recognized the worried look on his Sisters face, as he called her earlier “Look Twilight, I just want to be sure. She never told me that she didn´t love me...I...I can´t sit here and never find it out...I´m sorry, but I need to do this” Spike was about to go through the main door of the library, as suddenly Twilight stop him again.
“Spike.... I” Twilight couldn´t tell him that Rarity don´t love him...he would be crushed...but otherwise he would be crushed afterward too.
“What is it Twilight...you know you can´t stop me...as much as I love you...I...I love Rarity too...and I NEED to tell her” Now Spike had this confident tone in his voice again.
She couldn´t do it. She couldn´t tell him. He was too crazy about that mare.
“I...Wish you good luck Spike” She said, already hating herself for that.
“Thanks Twilight...I promise...everything´s going to be alright...Pinkie Promise” Spike said and made a cross on his chest with his claw.
Twilight smiled at him and watched as he went out the door. ´I hope she isn´t too rough on him Twilight thought and went back to her studies.
