Rainbow Dash and the Crystal Empire

by Rainbow Dash 55

Goldengrape

"That doesn't look like Spitfire," Twilight said.
Rainbow blushed a little. "Oh. You heard me talking to Soarin, huh?"
Twilight grinned. "I WOULD like to see you kick her hindquarters again. Good call."
Rainbow rolled her eyes, but she grinned too. "Thanks."
They reached the Crystal Empire, but they didn't dare go in it. Instead, they hid behind a boulder that was covered in dark, pointy crystals.
"Black Magic," Twilight narrowed her eyes.
"Queen Chrysalis?"
"I don't know. But I guess we'll have to find out. Operation: Bolt."
Rainbow looked to see if anypony was around, but nopony was. She bolted from object to object, boulder to boulder, at the speed of light. Twilight was a little bit slower, but she did the same. Soon enough, they were halfway through the village of the Crystal Empire. Rainbow dashed behind a fruit stand, followed by Twilight. Rainbow turned to ask Twilight where she thought would be a good place to get into the palace would be, but instead of Twilight, she was looking at a little colt, sitting next to a cart full of strawberries.
They stared at each other for the longest time in shock, until the colt asked, "Who are you?"
"Who are you?", Rainbow questioned.
He stared at her for a few more seconds before answering, "I'm Goldengrape. Why are you wearing those clothes?"
Rainbow looked at her black clothes, and pulled her black hat on tighter. "Why aren't YOU wearing them?"
They had a staredown for a few more seconds, until Rainbow was bored and antsy. "Okay, here's the deal, kid. I'm sorta kinda a little busy with...big-pony stuff. So we should really get going. Okay, bye!"
"We?" The colt turned and saw an alicorn, wearing the same clothes as Rainbow. He gasped. "Princess Twi--"
She put her hoof over his mouth. "Yes, that's me. Listen, we're doing some very important business, so if you could please be quiet, that would be great. Okay?"
He nodded, and she released him.
"Now run along, little foal." Twilight gently pushed him, and he trotted off.
