A Christmas Story to all
On one snowy night all the kingdom was covered in white, the ponies were still out playing. Yet, they still were waiting for Ole’ saint Nick to come and give the good fillies and colts their gifts that they deserved. Up in the Castle Princess Celestia invited all to come to the castle for a Christmas party. Both Celestia and Luna were getting ready for the party when Luna came to ask Celestia a curious question.
“Tia may I ask you something?” Luna asked in a shyish voice.
“Of course dear sister, what seems to be troubling you?” Tia answered as she turned to look at her sister. Luna’s eyes didn’t meet her sister’s as she began to speak.
“As a gift for Onyx I wanted to adopt her, I want to be her mother” Luna said quickly feeling embarrassed at what she said.
Tia looked at her with a blank stare before smiling and laughing at her little sister. “I think that would be a perfect gift for little Onyx, she’s grown quite fond of you and Ghost. We’ll talk about it later though we have to get ready for the party” she said turning back to get ready.
“Ghost help me! I need your help!” a screaming voice echoed through the halls. Ghost quickly followed the voice and sighed. In front of him was Onyx trying to put ornaments on the tree in their room. Little Onyx giggled and looked at Ghost.
“Ghosty can you help me put on ornaments before everypony comes” she asked lightly.
“Onyx don’t do that, anyway I can’t right now I have business so I’ll help you later” he said turning around to leave the room.
Ghost left to continue his rounds around the castle until he came to Luna’s door. He hesitated to say anything, but eventually forced out the words.
“Luna? Can I come in?” he asked knocking his hoof on the door.
There was no response and this made him wonder if she was alright. He knocked and asked again. “Can I come in?” he asked in a louder tone than before.
He waited until the door slowly crept open in front of him and Princess Luna came out dressed in a beautiful long, black dress. It was as dark as the night skies she made. Her hair was wavy and her crown had the moon and stars in it.
She looked at him with loving eyes and smiled sweetly.
“Hello Ghost, sorry I was getting ready. It is a fine evening for a Christmas party isn’t it?” she said smiling at him.
Ghost just nods grinning, “yes it is I’ll see you at the party I have to finish my rounds” he said slowly walking down the hall again.
Onyx was in Ghost’s room getting ready for Ole’ Saint Nick to come by finishing up decorations on the tree when she heard a sweet loving voice.
“Onyx darling, can I have a word with you?” Luna asked poking her head into the room.
Onyx looked at her and slowly walked out to join her. “What is it ma—I mean Luna?” she asked smiling.
Luna hugged her and looked at her “I would like to show you something that you might like” she said smiling. She led her outside to look at the snowing night sky, some stars were poking through the falling snow. Before Onyx knew it Luna serenaded her with a beautiful song that she sang many moons ago.
“Onyx I wanted to ask you something else” she said as she finished. “I wanted to know if you wanted me and Ghost to be your parents” she asked happily. “Of course if you want that is” she said looking into her eyes.
Onyx smiled looking overjoyed. She began to tear up, the whole world seemed to have froze when she heard the offer.
“Yes! Yes! Yes! I want you and Ghost to be my mommy and daddy” she said jumping up with joy. She jumped up and hugged Luna tightly.
Ghost came in smiling, “hey you two the party is about to start” he said lightly. He had heard the news from the hall, but didn’t mention it.
The ball was decorated with all sorts of decorations. Candycanes hung from the ceiling, snowflakes were all over the walls, and the Christmas lights shone brightly on the Christmas tree that stood in the middle of the room. The star was the only piece missing. Everypony turned to face Ghost, Luna, and Onyx as the walked in.
“There you all are, Onyx I think it would be an honor if you put on the star” Tia said smiling.
“How?” she asked looking confused.
She was then hoisted up on Luna’s back, “I’ll help you” she said smiling. They both flew up to the top of the tree and Onyx gently placed the star on the tree which then began to shine a bright light.
“Well, who’s ready to party!” Pinkie Pie jumped up yelling.
The party began and all the ponies had fun. They enjoyed games, dancing, food, and just each other’s company. And when the party ended Luna and Ghost led Onyx up to her bed. Luna sang a soft lullaby till the filly slept peacefully in her bed. Luna kissed her once she slept peacefully and Ghost patted her head. When they both left they began walking down the hall.
Luna looked over to Ghost “She’s our daughter now, please don’t be mad I wanted her to have a family and she is pretty fond of us both so I thought-“
Ghost interrupted her with a kiss that caught her off guard.
“I’m not mad, I love her very much and besides I think I would like to be called daddy” he said smiling.
Luna returned the smile and hugged him.
While all the ponies slept peacefully Ole’ Saint Nick came along giving gifts to all the good fillies and colts in the land as he passed.
“Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas to all, and to all goodnight” he said as he dashed through the night.
