A Big Challenge

"We need to think of something fast! I can't stand sitting out here and doing nothing while we could be battling right now!"

Rainbow Dash had began to start off her line of complaints of, what it seemed like hours, of waiting for Pinkie Pie to arrive at Sweet Apple Acres. Pinkie Pie had informed earlier that she had the most perfect idea that could finally decide who the, "Most Daring Pony," would be, between Rainbow Dash and Applejack, and that they meet her at Sweet Apple Acres immediately. Although, Rainbow Dash and Applejack could have began waiting hours late and would still be baking theirselves in the hot sun.

"Don't worry Rainbow, I'm sure she'd just ran a lil' late, no big deal," exclaimed Applejack.

"No big deal? It may be easy for you to sit out here and do nothing, but I got a need for excitement, not boredom!" argued Rainbow Dash.

"Now hold up," Applejack began as she stepped up from her laying position, "I bust my hump workin' in these fields ev'ryday, and all you do is clear clouds from the sky! Ev'rything I do ev'ryday is the opposite of boredom!"

"At least you get shade! Weather Patrolling is one of the hardest jobs for a Pegasus, Y'Know!"

"Are you sure? Because I think workin' in these fields is one of the hardest tasks a pony can ask for!"

Rainbow Dash and Applejack began to yell at each other face to face, arguing about the same topic, until Pinkie Pie interrupted across the front yard, "Wow! I can't believe the determination you guys have! This is going to be some battle, isn't it?" As Pinkie Pie trotted upwards, it was visible that Pinkie Pie had a massive cart strapped around her, and appeared to be extremely heavy, explaining the sweat glands across Pinkie's forehead. As she stopped and began to remove the strap around her neck, she also started, "Sorry I took so long, it took some time to gather all the equipment needed."

"How much did ya need? That looks like an awful heavy cart." Applejack reported.

"Aw, it was no big deal. It was worth it, anyways. Come look what I've got for you!"

As the two slowly approached the cart, Pinkie jogged towards the other side of the cart and locked her hooves onto the two latches on the cart. "Are you ready?" Pinkie warned. After the two nodded their heads, Pinkie started, "Okay, here we go," immediately opening the latched doors and revealing what was inside. Unexpectingly, to everypony's surprise, there were stacks upon stacks of cakes, treats, pies, and much more! Although, all it did to Applejack and Rainbow Dash was to make them more concerned.

"What in the hay are we going to do with all these treats?" Applejack asked, tilting her head in confusion.

"Whaddya think we would do with them? We would eat them of course!"

"So we're just going to eat all these treats? Doesn't seem daring to me." Rainbow Dash added in.

"It's going to be a competition to see who eats the most before one pony gives up." Pinkie pointed out.

"So like an eatin' competition? I think I could do that; doesn't seem too hard."

"Well, I can't eat all that now, I have to work after this, and besides, I just ate!" Rainbow Dash began to argue again.

"So what? It's kinda sounds your a lil' scared, aren't you?"

"Of... of course not, I'm not scared at all! I'll bet you, at the end of this eating contest, you'll be dirt that I would be easily stepping on!" Rainbow Dash insulted.

"OK, it's a deal then." Applejack smirked, as she raised a hoof with Rainbow Dash's and smacked them together, signaling a deal.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash stood evenly spaced along a massive table filled with thousands of cakes and treats galore, while Pinkie Pie stood on the other side, judging progress and to watch everything that happens. After a tense moment, Pinkie Pie started, "OK, is everypony ready?" After a loud, "Yes," from the two ponies, Pinkie began to cry, "Then let's get this started!" She pushed on a small button on a clock in her hand and began to count as Rainbow Dash and Applejack began stuffing themselves in food. They both started out with the nearest pie closest to them and stuffed it down as quick as they could. Next, they would work on dozens of cupcakes close to them and chew them up. During the beginning, Applejack also began to mock, "So, Rainbow Dash, you feelin' full yet, cause' I sure ain't!" "Of course not! It would have to take much more than all of these to get me full." Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

After about two pies and 10 cupcakes later, both ponies showed a slight difference in shape. Both had gained as much as an inch to their stomach size, and there was a slight difference in their faces as their cheeks became slightly fuller and a miniature lobe of skin hanged from their chins. Also, there was as little as a centimeter gained around their flanks, and as their cutie marks showed a slight stretch, as they were slightly bigger. Although, neither noticed their gain, because they were fully focused on competition, and seemed that they wouldn't notice anything for a while now.

An approximation of a couple of cakes, a dozen pies, and about 30 cupcakes later, their stomachs showed a significant difference. They had dropped down about 2 inches more, and had about 10 more inches toward the ground, as they also appeared to be more rigid and plush, too. Their cheeks were round and red, as a full line of skin from their chin dropped down and couldn't be stretched any to hide. Their flanks had grown to an extent as the fat couldn't be stretched out to separate anymore, and had jiggled every time the ponies either shifted or moved. Their cutie marks had grown to the size of a pie's diameter itself, and their knees had grown to touch each other in their position.

Another 30 cupcakes, 7 pies, and 5 cakes later, Rainbow Dash and Applejack had yet gained more bulge around theirselves. Their stomachs lowered 3 more inches, and also began to squish in between the tops of their forelegs and arms. Their stomachs also seemed to show a bit bushy, from their shrieks of hair turning in to a mess of hair. Their cheeks popped out from their face as a full found ball, and their chins showed two lower layers of fat below them facing forwards. Their legs have grown an extent of fat so large that they could not be separated, and their cutie marks have grown to a size of a basketball. Overall, their bodies were becoming like a huge, round ball, but neither noticed the fullness or weight the two have been putting on themselves. Even Pinkie, too, has not payed attention to the weight of the two, she payed attention to either the stopwatch or the matter of who would give up first.

As the clock struck 1 hour, Rainbow Dash and Applejack began to struggle to move on. There was about 2 inches of room left between the ground and their stomachs, and even the bottom of their forelegs could not be separated from the fat. Their flanks could be compared to two disco balls together, and their cutie marks grew about 3x their size since they started. Their cheeks have began to spread through their faces, making their faces more plushier, and the chins that they had began to squish onto each other and overlap, making a giant blob sticking out below their faces. At the same time, the pain and other occurrences began to overlap their determination as they felt the agonizing pain of stretch and fullness on them. Their stomachs could be compared to putting massive weights onto their skin and pulling it down, and their fullness could be compared to managing to cover a trash bag over a piano. Although, it would still take much more to overcome Rainbow Dash and Applejack and face them in reality.

About 30 cakes, 50 pies, and 120 cupcakes later, their stomachs had finally reached down to the ground. Their hoofs began to rise from the ground and rest on their stomachs as they grew bigger. Even their flanks began to droop down and overlap their legs. Their chin(s) also seemed to disappear as they caught on with their stomachs. Although, since their stomachs still allowed reach between them and the food, they still didn't notice any difference. But Pinkie finally began to take notice as the two seemed to grow taller and leaning the table over as their stomachs grew outward, but simply ignored their gain because of the fact that if she said something, that may risk one of them quitting early, and that wouldn't be fair.

Their stomachs working together were just about to tip over the massive table, until Applejack's brother, BigMac, walked by and noticed something odd.

"Uh... Sis?"

Applejack hadn't heard the slightest noise, apparently, but Rainbow Dash heard just enough to face her attention onto the source of the noise, but was caught in sight by Applejack's huge body, and changed in mood immediately.

"Oh my gosh! What happened to you Applejack?!" screamed Rainbow Dash, catching Applejack's attention to her.

"Wh—what happened to you?!" cried Applejack, managing both ponies to face down to their bodies, only realizing their massive stomachs below them.

Both ponies screamed in agony as they faced what had happened, also catching Pinkie's attention to stop the alarm clock, and run immediately towards them.

"Pinkie! Why did you make us do this to us?!" yelled Rainbow Dash as Pinkie ran towards them.

"Hey, it's not Pinkie that ye' have to be arguin' to, it's us that are to blame." argued Applejack, putting her sence into matter.

"Well... well, I'm just mad!"

The was a couple moments of silence as everypony tried to figure out what had happened during the last few hours. Then, after that, they began to tell BigMac the whole story, who was completely oblivious to what happened. Finally, BigMac teamed with Applejack as he tried to lobe her on his back and carry her into somewhere they could get help, and Pinkie Pie teamed with Rainbow Dash as they tried to fly her away to Cloudsdale and rest in her home, if the clouds could stand her weight.

With the consequence of their actions, the two definitely received surprising feedback from everypony else, but that's a whole other story in itself.
