My Little Destiny.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Part 1

Time flew by. Five minutes turned into four, four turned into three, three turned into two, & two turned into one. I was nowhere close to finding an exit that I so desperately needed to find. Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock. I could imagine a clock, mocking me every second, reminding me of how little time I had left., then; It was up.
Clip, Clop, Clip, Clop, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock, Clip, Clop, Clip, Clop. Soon enough, I was found. I cringed back into the path I took to my current location. Everything took shape. The barrel of the shotgun, the smile on her face, & then the outline of her body. Click. She cocked the shotgun. My heart raced, I was now staring down the barrel of a Model 1887. “Oh Blaze, If only you could see the look on your face. Tell you what, I'll tell you where the exit is. Not that it matters, you're gonna die here anyway,” She giggled & continued. “Behind me leads the path to the exit. Take a left, then a right, then go straight a few corridors & take one more right.”
Half of me wanted it to end there, the other half wanted nothing more but to get out. Something inside me triggered. A burning fire inside my body took form. BOOM! The shotgun went off. I Cringed for a moment.
The booming sound of metal-on-metal echoed in the hall way. I found myself on top of Derpy, pinning her down on the cold floor. She struggled & squirmed, but my upper body strength outmatched hers.
I would have kept her pinned, if it weren't for the cracking noise I heard. Then came the explosion of pain from my broken leg. She had been kicking at it the entire time & got a cheap shot to my leg. I rolled off her onto my back & held my hind leg. “God Dammit!” It hurt more then when she broke it the first time!
I started breathing heavily. Tears ran down my cheeks. It took all my will power not to scream my damn head off. Derpy got up & dusted herself off. She walked towards the abandoned Model 1887. I couldn't let her get to it.
I rolled over onto my stomach & let out a short scream I put pressure onto my leg. I searched for the shotgun & could only make out what I thought was it. I started crawling very slowly with my forearms. I used every bit of my strength.
“Shouldn't have done that, Blaze.” She was now standing over me with the shotgun in her hooves. I looked at where I thought it was, but it turned out to be nothing. Nothing but tricks on my damn eyes. She Reloaded then Click went the shotgun. BANG!

Chapter 4: Part 2.

Pain exploded in my leg. But not my broken leg. So, there I was, on the cold concrete floor of this horrid maze. One leg broken, & the other now gave home to a shell. For the moment, my whole world was dark. Me and nothing else.
“Heh. That will teach you. Next time don't fight back & I won't miss your head.” she whispered. It was a lie. She purposely aimed for my leg. No pony in the world had horrible accuracy like that, not to mention I was on the floor with my body sprawled out.
“It can't end like this. . .” I whispered.
“But it will.” She confirmed.
Her hind legs appeared right in front of me. I looked up. Once again, staring down the barrel of my destiny; my destiny to die. She reloaded again. Click. That sound made my body tense, every click brought new pain. Adrenaline filled my body. My heart pulsated so hard I could feel it press into my chest.
I reached my forearms out & latched onto her hooves, pulling them with all my strength. A gasp escaped her mouth as she fell onto her back. She didn't let go of the shotgun, I hoped she would have. I crawled on top of Derpy & grabbed the shotgun. She pulled & pushed. I had the advantage at the moment.
I screamed & bit my lip. She began kicking at both my hind legs. I couldn't let her win. I focused only on the shotgun & did my best to ignore the cracking noises & pain that rose from behind me. Derpy made groaning noises, indicating that she was frustrated with her attempts to regain her dominance over me.
Push came to shove & I was now on my back, the shotgun being pulled away from me. Derpy was now on the offense. She used her forearms & hind legs to pull the wretched death-gun from me. I pulled from side to side, attempting to pull it from her grasp. I had gotten nowhere.
Two desperate ponies, wrestling to the death over what would be the only way to survive this. Shuffling, grunts, and clanking metal were the only sounds that filled the hollow hallways. My adrenaline was wearing off. I became dizzy and in time, weak. I Still had a good grip on the gun but I was losing my ability to keep it close to me.
My whole life passed through my eyes. The images of what I had seen in this place filled my head. It played back in my head like a broken record. Then I remembered something. When I first arrived to the torture room, she had pulled a knife on me. It never occurred to me where she had gotten it until now.
I took my eyes off the face of the winning Derpy & looked at her flank. There it was, the knife, settled in its chassis, which was strapped to her flank on the right. I positioned my left hoof on the middle of the shotgun. Now I started to push, trying to get a better view of her flank. I reached out with all my might.
“Not gonna work, Blaze” Derpy said teasingly with heavy panting. She backed up just enough so that her knife was out of my reach. I repositioned my right hoof on the shotgun & started pulling once again. More shuffling and grunts. I was going to lose if I didn't do anything soon.
I became dizzy from the loss of blood from my shotgun-shot leg. I had only one chance to do what I had to do.

Chapter 4: part 3.

This was it, the final move that would determine if I would live or die. Once again I put my left hoof into the middle of the shotgun & reached my right hoof out to her flank.
“I told you, It won't work Blaze. We both know you're going to lose this & I will have your life.” she whispered.
“The hell you will!” I yelled & pulled with all the strength I had in my left arm. She stumbled forward & I reached out. I reached & reached until finally, I had the knife. I pulled it out of it's holding place.
“What??” Derpy stumbled back out of my reach again. She looked back & saw the knife within my hoof. She looked back at me & made an angry frown. “No, NO, NO!” She became frantic, jerking at the shotgun.
I did what I had to do. I released the shotgun from my left hoof & swung with my right.

Chapter 13.

Shhnk. clink, clang. Drip. . . Drip. . . She screamed in horror as I dropped the knife. Plop, Plop, Plop. Blood seeped from her stomach gash & dripped onto my body. CLANK. The shotgun fell to the ground. Both her hooves were on her stomach, her head looked down, her eyes wide in horror & shock. “You . . . I'm going to kill you!” she screamed at me.
She stumbled back & prepared to jump me. Well, body slam me as I could tell. My reflexes shot into action as she made her move, I grabbed the shotgun that was located to my side. I raised it into the air, I had one shot.
The whole scene went into slow motion. In front of me, an angry Derpy, flying through the air just to slam down onto me. Everything came down to this. My life was on the line. My life flashed through my eyes once again. I closed my eyes and cringed. BOOM!

Chapter 4: Part 4.

Her body flew back, crashing to the ground. Her chest stopped rising & settled. A lifeless body was the only thing left of her. It was over.
I lay on my back and took a few deep breathes. I realized that if I had wasted any more time, I would have died of blood loss in my leg. I sat up & looked around. I couldn't crawl though this place, it would have taken too long.
I used my creative side this time. I picked up the shotgun, raised myself with it, & used it as a crutch, supporting myself upon my shotgun-blasted leg. I certainly wouldn't stand on my broken leg. It would have hurt like hell.
I limped up to Derpy's body. I reached down to retrieve her keys & stared at the gaping hole in her chest just above where I had sliced her with the knife. I shook my head & continued on. “Behind me leads the path to the exit. Take a left, then a right, then go straight a few corridors & take one more right.” I remembered her saying. I took my time. I stumbled a couple of times.
I found my way out of that place. The exit happened to be a flight of stairs that led to a door. I unlocked the door with the key I had gotten from the dead Derpy.
I opened the door & found myself to be in the middle of the Everfree forest. A fitting forest to a fitting place. I limped a few more steps & collapsed. “What do we have here? Oh my, are you okay my dear?” That was the last thing I heard before I blacked out.

Chapter 4: Part 5.

Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep. I woke up to the sound of a heart monitor the next day. I was in the hospital. I was greeted by a doctor by the name of Doctor Whooves. I was told that I was found in the Everfree forest & rescued by a zebra named Zecora. I was also informed me that she had other business to attend to & would check on me later.
Both my legs were raised in the air. Both of them in casts. I was issued a wheel chair & was told I couldn't walk for the next few weeks. My days as a fire fighter were put off until I healed. I was also told that, because of me, the others in the facility were rescued. If I had not escaped, Zecora wouldn't have found me, & the others wouldn't have been found in time.
I was empty & hollow on the inside. I was drained emotionally & physically, but deep down I felt joy that my nightmare was over. I had won my right to live.

Chapter 4: Epilogue.

I survived. That's all that matters. And I helped others, which is normal, I'm a fire fighter after all. But this, this tops all the situations I've been in. It was horrible. I have so many physical & mental scars. I begged for my life, & at other times; I begged for it to end. To think that somepony so innocent could have caused so much grief & misery. When I moved to this small village of ponies, I thought nothing of them. My only mission was to stay fit & ready for any emergency situation. Ha, too bad the worst situation of my life is the only one I wasn't prepared for.
I only have one sibling, Corba Force, who was lucky enough to be a guard for the princess, in turn meaning he never had to witness what I saw. He was lucky alright, however; it would have been great if he could have helped stop the madness. My only regret about all this; I couldn't save Lyra Heartstrings nor Bon Bon, though; I did receive awards for my “bravery” that day from Princess Celestia, but I did not accept them. I only did what I was trained to do. Even to this day, when I hear the name Bon Bon or Lyra, my heart sinks and all the images come rushing back into my brain. How I wish I could erase my memory or somehow cause myself to suffer from amnesia.
All I can say is, Dear Princess Celestia, I have learned that surviving is magic. Oh, & screw Derpy.
