//------------------------------// // The first day // Story: Time for Spike to be a Kid! // by The Soviet Turtle //------------------------------// Spike woke up with the sun shining onto his scales, he slowly got out of bed and walked out of the room. He saw Lyra sitting on the couch watching the television, she saw the drake come out of the room and smiled. "Morning Spike." She said, Spike just yawned and scratched his back. "I haven't slept like that in a while. What time is it anyway?" He asked. "About 9:45." She said, Spike then panicked. "Oh no! I overslept!" He said, Lyra giggled a little bit and spoke. "Spike, some kids sleep until eleven in the morning. Don't worry." Spike then calmed down. Bonbon then walked in. "You know, I just released something. If your a kid Spike, shouldn't you go to school now?" She said with a grin. But Spike just jumped into the air with a fist bump. "Yes!" "Really!? You want to go to school?" Lyra asked. "Yeah, it's probably the only chance I can actually meet some friends. Sure throes some work, but I've lived in a library for a very long time. I can handle it." He said, Bonbon smiled. "Alright then, I'll tell Cheerilee about enlisting you today." Bonbon said as she was about to walk out. "Can you make sure she doesn't tell Twilight or the others that I'm here?" Spike asked, Bonbon nodded. "Of coarse, also there's some breakfast for you on the table." She said as she finally walked out, she noticed the bag at the door. She knew it must of been the bits the Mayor talked about it, she pulled out some bits of her own and poured them in. She then walked back into the house to see Spike eating his breakfast at the table. "Here Spike. These are yours now." Bonbon said as she placed the bag of bits next to Spike. He Gulped down what food he had in his mouth a spoke. "Thank you Bonbon." He said, she nodded and then left the house. Spike then finished his breakfast, put The plate in the sink, and grabbed his bag of bits. "I'm heading out now Lyra." Spike said. "Alright, look out for you know who." She said. Spike then walked outside and started to move. As he walked through Ponyville, he noted that he stay clear of the farmers market, Applejack would probably see him instantly. So he decided to find some stores where he could get some stuff. He soon came to a clothes store and walked in, he saw a lot of clothes on display for colts and fillies. But one stood out from the rest. It was a blue hoodie that seemed to be design for someone like him. "So, ya like the Blue one here?" Spike turned around to see what must of been the clerk of the store. "Um, yeah." Spike said. "Well this here costs fourty bits. But for you, I think maybe about twenty-five." "Alright." Spike said, the clerk then grabbed the hood and walked over to the counter, Spike followed. As the clerk pressed some buttons on the cash register, he pulled out twenty-five bits from the bag and out it on the counter. He then grabbed the hoodie of the clerk and put it on. He put the remaining bits in his pocket on his hoodie. He then walked out of the store and headed towards the park. As he did, he thought about what to do next. Just then, he bumped into someone as they both fell. Spike slowly got up to see three colts. Featherwieght, Rumble and Pipsquek. "Oh, sorry about that." Spike said. "No it's alright...hey, aren't you that dragon who nearly tore down the town?" Featherweight asked, Spike looked away, remembering the memories that went into his mind from that day. He shook it off and rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, I don't like to talk about it." He said. "So what are you doing out here? We usually see you run around town." Rumble said. "Yeah, because Twilight kept on giving me work I never really could play." He said, the colts then understood. "That sucks." Rumble said. "So listen, we where heading over to Sugarcube Corner. Ya wanna join us?" Pipsquek asked. "Maybe, depends on who's there." Spike said. "What do you mean?" Featherwieght asked. "I'll explain when we get there." Spike said, soon the four boys headed there way to Sugarcube Corner. Before they entered, Spike signalled them to stop. They did as Spike climbed up and looked through the window, no sign of Pinkie or any of the other girls. He sighed in relief and saw Mrs.Cake looking at him through the window, she smiled and signalled for him to come in. He hopped down and he, plus the three colts, all walked through the door. "Hello Spike." Mrs.Cake said. "Hey Mrs.Cake." Spike said, she then noticed the other three. "Do they know about-" "-I'm just about to tell them." Spike said, she smiled warmly at them. "So what can I get you boys?" She asked. "I'll have a lemonade." Featherwieght said. "Milkshake please." Pipsqueak said. "Soda." Rumble said. "Hmm...I Think I'll have a lemonade to." Spike said. "Sure. That'll be eleven bits." Mrs.Cake said, all the colts and drake pulled out there own bits and put them on the counter. Mrs.Cake then took and counted all the bits, then put them into the register. "I'll get them right away. You just sit tight and I'll be right back." She said as she went to collect the drinks. The four then walked over to a quarter booth and slide into place. "So why where ya looking through the window for Spike?" Pipsquek asked. "Well, I'll tell you. It started out as something like this." Spike began. He then explained about the six mares and Mayor Mares plan. "Wow, that sucks." Rumble said. Just then, Mrs.Cake came in holding a tray with a milkshake and three cans. She placed each drink in front of each boy. "Here you go. Enjoy." She said as she walked away. The boys each taking a sip out from there drink, they smiled in satisfactory. Spike also seemed to be excited. "That was good!" Spike said. "It's like you've never had lemonade before." Featherwieght said. "I haven't, Twilight never let me." Spike said. Before they could reply, the three cutie mark crusaders and Dinky walked through the door. "Hey guys!" Scootaloo said as the four walked over to them. "Hey, what are you girls doing here?" Rumble asked as they all took there seats. "We saw ya four come in and decided to join ya. Big Mac told us earlier today 'bout the plan so dontcha worry Spike, ya secrets safe with us." Applebloom said. "Thank girls." He said right before Mrs.Cake came back up to the table. "What can I get you?" She asked. "Ah'll just have an apple juice." Applebloom said. "Soda please." Scootaloo said. "I'll have some cherry soda." Sweetie belle said. "I guess I'll have a banana milkshake." Dinky said. "Alright, I'll be back." Mrs.Cake said. Soon as she left, Bonbon burst through the door and looked around frantically until she saw Spike. "Spike, get down! Pinkie's coming!" She said. Spike chocked on his lemonade as he ducked under the table as the colts tried there best to block him from sight. Soon the pink mare bounced through the door and up to the counter maned by Mr.Cake now as Mrs.Cake was getting the fillies drinks. "Hi Mr.Cake! Can I have Twilight's order?" She asked, the stallion pulled out a basket from the corner. "Here you go Pinkie." "Thanks Mr.Cake, Twilight wanted to see the girls and me for some reason." She said as she bounced out of the door. "All clear." Bonbon said as Spike emerged from under the table. "That was close." He said, taking a sip of his lemonade. "Anyway Spike, I talked to Cheerilee. Your going to school tomorrow, and She'll tell the other students a different story." She said. "Really?" He asked. "Yep. Anyway, I have to go home and check up on Lyra. See you back there Spike" She said as she left the bakery and as Mrs.Cake same up with the fillies drinks. "Here you go." She said as she placed them to each filly, she then left the group to be by themselves. "So Spike, anything interesting?" Featherwieght asked. "Well..." Spike and the group talked through the day until it was time for them to head home. They all said goodbye and agreed to meet up at recess tomorrow. Spike walked through the door to see Lyra. "Hey Spike, nice hood." "Thanks." He said. "Dinner's ready." she said as the two went into the dining area with Bonbon waiting. The three finished dinner as Spike decided to hit the hay. He walked to his room, hanged his hoodie up. And laid down in the bed and fell asleep. To him, he had quite a successful day. He would be going to school, new clothes, new friends, and much more opportunities for him to act like a kid.
