The next day, everyone got up bright and early. In Twilight and Lunars room, Twilight and Lunar had plans to do this morning, but they can't bring Nyx because they want it to remain a secret. Rainbow had nothing to do, so she decided to be with Nyx, Tex and Spike. Twilight velvet and Night Light had errands to run, for the upcoming holiday. Cadence remained at the palace, along with Shining Armor, whom had interviews to do with new recruits for the guard. The group then headed to the dining room when suddenly they run into Flash Sentry. "Whoa. Oh, it''s you Twilight, how you doing my special pony?" Flash Sentry said.
"Uh Flash, do you mind if we talk?"
"What is it?"
"I have a coltfriend now. I was meaning to send you a letter but I kept forgetting. It's save to say we should be friends."
"I'm okay with it your highness. I'm not mad. I have to get to my post now. see you around, even you too Nyx."
Flash Sentry then went on his way to his post while Twilight couldn't help but blush at her friend. They then arrived at the dining room where Cadence and Shining armor were waiting. They had a special breakfast made since they are spending their first holiday in the Crystal Empire. "So Twi, what your plans today?" Rainbow asked.
"I'm dying to hear sis." said Shining Armor
"Me and Lunar are going out. We figure that we should find something to do with the family this year."
"Oh that's right. drat I forgot to ask Nyx what she wants"
"Uh what?" said Nyx
"Nyx, what do you want for hearths warming?" Rainbow asked
"I want something really special. Something that can make me feel awesome like you."
Rainbow took it in and realized it was going to be tough. They then proceeded to have there breakfast. after they ate, Rainbow said that she has nothing to do, so she decided to watch over Nyx with Tex, Spike, Shining armor and Cadence while Twilight, Lunar, and Twilights parents are out. They all agreed that it was best, because they didn't want to spoil the surprise. Nyx even knew that she didn't want to have the surprise spoiled. as the four ponies left, Rainbow turned to Nyx. "Remember Nyx, you have to behave."
"yea i know. but thank celestia that mom called me out of school. At least it means i'm not around Diamond Tiara. I didn't want the same thing to happen when you were watching me while mom was in Canterlot."
"What happened?" Cadence asked
"Lets just say, Diamond Tiara beaten Nyx up giving her minor black and blue marks and a minor black eye."
"What! That's not nice of her."
"Well since Nyx is considered a Princess after defeating Dark Shadow the same way we defeated Sombra but in a different way, I believe she can't hurt Nyx, because it will count as an assualt on royalty."
"i'm still shock Nyx is a princess, but yes, Diamond Tiara will get in deep trouble for assualt on Royalty if she tries again."
As Shining armor was having his coffee, he begin to wonder why it took so long to fogive Nyx. since that incident that hearths warming, he felt regret that he caused her to be afraid of her. After Nyx was found at Spell Nexus manor, he forgave Nyx for what she did when she was Nightmare Moon. As he finished his coffee he got up and looked at his wife. "Well I better get going, I have Interviews with new recruits. Rainbow if you need me, ask a guard to escort you to my office." he said
"Okay"
With everything done, Shining Armor went on his way. Rainbow decided to take Nyx to their room. when they go to their room, They begin to read a Daring Do book together. Ever since both Twilight and Rainbow Dash introduced the Daring Do series to Nyx, Nyx really enjoyed the series. an hour passed by and they finished reading for now. The two were now trying to figure out what to do now. Rainbow knew that if she wanted to take Nyx outside, she had to keep an eye on Nyx just in case something bad happens. They both knew that a lot of ponies still fear Nyx. Suddenly Tex saw something, a vision. Tex told both Nyx and Rainbow that she saw that Nyx was going to meet a ffilly who goes through the same thing Nyx gone through, being bullied and has unique magic. Both Nyx and Rainbow Dash knew that this was one of tex's abilities, the ability to see things before they happen. They thought at first it was similar to Pinkie Pies ability, but turns out it's different. After hering this Rainbow was still thinking and she suddenly hit an idea. she realized they can go to the arcade. In Ponyville, Nyx loved going to the arcade. They decided to go to there. They got up and headed to Cadence and told her where they are going, just incase Twilight comes back. Cadence agreed that it was a good idea. Before they left Rainbow Dash got a pair of shades for Nyx to wear to keep her eyes hidden. Nyx agreed it was best because some of the ponies still fear her.
The Arcade
Throughout the time, Nyx was having fun at the arcade. Rainbow followed Nyx to keep an eye on her. Some ponies were even staring at Nyx, they were wondering if it was her. Nyx ignored that the ponies were staring at her. As they were heading to the next game, they noticed two big colts bullying a unicorn filly around Sweetie belles age. "Your not special, your magic is fake." said one of the bullies"
"I..it's not fake"
"oh what are you gonna do cry? go ahead....Cry"
Both Rainbow and Nyx started to think. should they get involved? Nyx quickly thinking ran over to the filly and faced the buillies. "Nyx wait." said Rainbow. But it was too late. Nyx was now by the fillies side.
"What do you think you two are doing."
"Get out of the way dweeb. And don't get involved or else."
"OR ELSE WHAT? Why don't you, take your sorry mouths, and get away from her. you're scaring her."
This made the two teen colts angry, they then pushed Nyx out of the way launching her Shades to Rainbow. As Nyx got up she opened her eyes making em visible. "you shouldn't have done that." she said
the sight of seeing Nyxs eyes, the teens were now scared. Standing infront of them, was the second Nightmare Moon. They were frightened. They then started running like scared little fillies. "THAT'S RIGHT YOU BETTER RUN. THAT'LL TEACH YOU TO PICK ON A LITTLE FILLY. "She shouted. Nyx then turned to the filly and offered a hoof to help her up. "You alright?" Nyx asked.
The filly then looked at Nyx. She was surprised. "I'm.....I'm okay. Thanks."
"sheesh, whats with those two? Why would they doing this to you?"
"It's because i'm a special gifted unicorn. I have unique magic. I'm sorry but i didn't catch your name."
"My name is Nyx, Nyx Sparkle. I am the daughter of Twilight Sparkle."
The name surprised the filly. "You mean you're "the" Nyx Sparkle?
"Yes. now whats your name?"
"I'm Glowing Aurora, Nice to meet you."
Rainbow then walked up to Nyx. She noticed that Nyx actually defended a filly from bullies. She had Nyx shades with her. "Well.... that was surprising Nyx. But i think it's best to keep your eyes hidden. you don't want to be taken into custody."
Glowing Aurora then looked at Nyx. Nyx informed her that Rainbow Dash is her godmother and is watching over her until Twilight returns from her errands. Glowing Aurora then told Nyx that she is being made fun of because she is currently a blank flank. she mentioned that she is gifted with the ability to slow down time on those who try to attack for matter of 10 second. She also mentioned that once hearths warming ends, she is moving to Ponyville. Nyx then met Glowings Father, whom was nice to Nyx. Nyx then mentioned to glowing that if she ever wants to visit, she has to come to the castle, where she is staying for the holiday, It was now for Glowing to head home with her father, after saying goodbye to Glowing and her father, Nyx and Rainbow decided to head out. Rainbow decided to treat Nyx to hot chocolate. After buying the hot chocolate, the two headed back to the castle and were greeted by Twilight. "Where did you two go?" she asked.
"I took Nyx to the arcade, then bought me and her hot chocolate." Rainbow assured.
"Well, Cadence told me, i'm okay with it."
Tex then came walking in. She saw Nyx and Rainbow. The Space Dragon couldn't help but smile at her friend. But she was wondering, if her prediction of the filly was true. what if it wasn't? Nyx then perched up. "Hey Tex, guess what?" said Nyx
"What?"
"Your prediction was true. I met the filly."
"That's great to hear."
After they talked to both Twilight and Tex, Rainbow and Nyx decided to head to their room and drink their hot chocolate. Rainbow was really happy she was spending hearths warming with her goddaughter. Nyx was glad she met somepony that is gifted and is moving to ponyville. Rainbow and Nyx decided that they should read the daring do book they were reading earlier for the time being.
Twilight, Lunar and Twilights parents were with cadence and shining armor talking with them. Cadence was wondering how Rainbow join Twilights family. Twilight then told Cadence that Rainbow wanted to be something to Nyx, and she decided to be Nyx godmother. She then said that she got the request from Rainbow to ask Celestia about it, which Twilight was okay with it and Celestia was too. Cadence was also happy that Nyx was the new holder of the equestrian emeralds. Lunar then mentioned that he was the holder, up until the emeralds turned on him when he was still under the blessing. Twilight's parents were glad that Their daughter has a lover and Nyx having both a godmother and a father.
In the room, that Nyx, Rainbow and Tex were sharing, They were playing a card game and talking. "So Nyx how is the whole Diamond Tiara situation going?" asked Rainbow
"According to cheerliee, Diamond Tiara is given one last warning, if she doesn't shape up and stop, she will be expelled until next school year. but thank Celestia that i've been called out for the holiday."
"I have to admit, i'm surprised that i get to spend the holiday with my awesome goddaughter, whom is Twilights daughter."
Nyx couldn't help but laugh. Nyx then realize she won the card game. Rainbow knew that Nyx was unstoppable. Rainbow couldn't help but chuckle that she found a pro card player, no wonder why applejack kept losing to Nyx in a game of cards or poker. Dinner came and Nyx and Rainbow head towards the dining room along with Tex. Rainbow told Nyx that tomorrow she will be going out for a while, and promised she will be back. Shining Armor decided to watch Nyx while both his sister and her coltfriend are out with their parents. After dinner Nyx went to play with Tex. Through out the night Nyx was glad she was having fun with Tex. Nyx then realize it was her bedtime and then headed to bed with Rainbow.
Next Day
"Now Nyx behave while we are gone. Rainbow will be back in an hour or so, okay?"
"Yes mom."
As Twilight, Lunar, Twilights parents and Rainbow left, Nyx and Tex followed Shining Armor to his office. Shining Armor still had interviews to do and he wants Nyx to be on her best behavior. as they reached his office Shining turned and face Nyx. "Make sure you are on your best behavior. Tex, if Nyx needs something, come get me right away." Shining Armor said
Both Nyx and Tex nodded in agreement and they sat on the couch in the next room. Through out the day, Ponies caught sight of her, they wondered why Nyx was here. Tex got Nyxs book for her and she read for the time being. Nyx was then hungry and to Tex. Tex told Shining and he gladly got up and went to get food for Nyx. an hour past by and As shining armor was about to close office for the day, a guard came in. "Sir, we have a visitor for Nyx." he said
"Who?"
"A filly named Glowing Aurora."
"Let her in."
The guard then let the filly in and the guard was right,. It was Glowing Aurora. She couldn't help but smile at Nyx. "Hi Nyx." she greeted
"Hey hows it going Glowing Aurora."
"Not to bad. hey who is the dragon?"
"That's my friend, and also my pet Space Dragon. She can talk. Her name is Tex."
"She can talk?"
"Of course I can talk." Tex said
with everything out of the way, Nyx and Glowing went and played. Through out the day They played cards. To Glowings surprise Nyx was a pro. Nyx then showed Glowing the book that is based off her, and told her that she is chosen to hold the Equestrian Emeralds. Glowing knew that the Equestrian Emeralds were a powerful weapon to defeat evil. Glowing really enjoyed hanging with Nyx. Suddenly, Rainbow appeared. "Yo, Nyx i'm back." said Rainbow.
"Hey Rainbow."
Rainbow then noticed that Nyx was with a filly. "Is that Glowing Aurora?"
"Yes, she came to hang out with me."
Rainbow was quiet glad Nyx made a new friend. Rainbow then gave Nyx some hot chocolate she bought while she was out. Nyx was quite happy that Rainbow got her some hot chocolate, despite the cold weather, she needed to drink something. "It seems she really likes you Nyx." said Glowing Aurora.
"Well she really enjoys having me around. I grown to love having her as my godmother."
Rainbow then decided to let the two fillies hang out. She told Nyx if she needs something, she is in the living room of the castle. After she left, Nyx and Glowing started a new game of cards
Else where
Out in the shopping center, Lunar and Twilight were seen strolling around seeing things that are on sale. They were busy shopping for a gift to buy their daughter. "hun, I know it's hard but we need to find something to get Nyx." Lunar said.
"But why is it difficult to find something she likes. I know she likes Daring do, and other stuff. But what can we buy for her?"
"Maybe that."
Twilight looked and she saw what has to be a great thing for Nyx. "Maybe we can get her it as a gift."
Back at the castle
Back at the Castle, Nyx and Rainbow were hanging out. Glowing had to leave to go home because she has to visit her grandparents. Cadence came in and bought Nyx something to eat. "How's it going Nyx?" asked Cadence
"It's going great."
Nyx then began to eat. after she was done eating she then laid on Rainbow side. Nyx sure likes Rainbow. she thought. Twilight, Lunar, and Twilights parents came in. "Hi Cadence." Twilight greeted.
"Hey Twilght."
Twilight then saw Nyx and Rainbow. She even saw Rainbow smiling at Nyx whom was resting on her side. She couldn't help but find it cute. She then went up to Nyx and tapped her. Nyx's eyes opened and she saw her mother. "Hey Nyx. I see you were resting on Rainbow." Twilight said.
"She's fun to be around mom."
Rainbow couln'd help but rub Nyxs head. "She really loves me Twi. I'm glad i get to spend the holiday with her."
"I'm glad you are Rainbow. besides, the reason Nyx is sharing a room with you is for two reasons. both me and Lunar need to discuss stuff about the holiday privately, and for both you and Nyx could bond more."
To Rainbow, she had to admit, It was best for Nyx to be with her, so Lunar and Twilight could discuss stuff in private. But what Rainbow really needed to do, is figure out what to get Nyx. Hearths warming is coming up in a couple days and it's getting tough. Dinner came and the group headed towards the dinning room. After dinner Nyx asked Twilight if she could stay up late and read Daring Do with Rainbow Dash. Knowing that Nyx has to go to bed at nine, but it was the holiday, Twilight gladly allowed Nyx to stay up late.
Through out the Night Rainbow and Nyx read the Daring Do book while, Tex was sleeping. After they finished it, it was now time for Nyx to go to bed, because she was tired. Rainbow hugged Nyx and she went to bed. Rainbow remained awake, she was trying to decide what she should give her. She wants something to make her feel awesome like Rainbow Dash. She knew it was gonna be tough, She had to think about what Nyx really wants. Tex then woke up and looked at Rainbow. "What's wrong Rainbow?" Tex asked
"I'm having trouble deciding what to give Nyx."
"Well you just have to think outside of the box. Try thinking what makes you awesome and what she likes."
"I'll try, but i'll call it a night."
"Okay, i will try to predict something. if i find anything, i will tell you in private."
Rainbow then nodded and got into bed. she couldn't help but look at Nyx whom was sleeping in peace I really think I have the best goddaughter ever. Rainbow thought. she then gave Nyx a a kiss on the cheek. "Night Nyx." Rainbow whispered. she then turned and fell asleep. Tomorrow she is going to try to think over what to get Nyx.
