//------------------------------// // A "normal" training day // Story: Eat the Rainbow // by Sayer //------------------------------// Rainbow Dash soared through the sky like a lightning bolt, being unnoticed by everyone else as she avoided everypony strolling through Ponyville. Ever since she asked Zecora for a size changing crystal, Rainbow Dash used it to improve her trainings greatly. Her size had changed, but she could control her mass and weight at will, meaning she could be a few inches tall and retain her normal weight or be half her real size and weigh a few pounds only. This allowed her to keep shifting between both options until she achieved the perfect combination for her flight. “Aww yeah, this is awesome!” This time, Rainbow Dash wanted to try something different. Up until now she would go to the Everfree Forest and avoid the trees at high speed, but it eventually became boring since trees couldn’t move. But ponies? Well, that’s just a new training field for Rainbow Dash. In her current size, placed between a small fly and a mouse, Rainbow Dash was barely noticed by anypony, and even if they did, all they could see was a strange, blue blur flying past them so fast they thought it was part of their imagination. The entire market was her new obstacle course, and she loved it. Without realizing, Rainbow Dash had already left Ponyville behind. Whenever she was flying, Rainbow Dash always entered “auto pilot” mode, avoiding every obstacle in her way between point A and B only to realize she left her destination twenty miles behind her. Her stomach grumbled, complaining about the lack of food since breakfast. “Yeah, yeah, I heard that,” she said to nopony in particular. Rainbow Dash looked around, until she fixed her attention towards Applejack’s farm. “It won’t hurt to steal one of her apples.” The rainbow mare flew towards the farm, leaving a small, almost invisible rainbow trail behind her and entered the orchard. Rainbow Dash marveled upon such sight, with giant, juicy apples ready to be collected. She would often steal a few apples when Applejack wasn’t looking, but this time was different. With her current size, her stomach would be full in no time, leaving only very small bite marks behind. One bite after another after another, and before she knew it, her stomach was already full, and the apple was missing a big spot on her peel. “Ahhh, now that’s better. What should I do now?” A mischief smile carved upon her face. “I think I’ll play some pranks on Applejack while I’m at it.” The cyan pony approached the farm, just in time for the Apples family diner outside. The rainbow mare drifted in her thoughts. “What could be the best way to prank Applejack? Replacing her silverware in the blink of an eye? Nah, too boring. Painting her face with a marker without anypony noticing my presence? No, too risky…. They would find out about my little secret. Or maybe repainting her apples? No, wait, I already did that one with Pinkie Pie.” Rainbow Dash was distracted, and suddenly, a bird appeared from nowhere and started a battle with Rainbow Dash. This caught her by surprise, making her lose the magic crystal as it sunk into Applejack’s plate. The farmer didn’t notice anything as she took a spoonful of soup with the stone inside. Rainbow Dash realized this, but her attention was focused on the bird that tried to eat her, mistaking her color palette for that of a butterfly. Rainbow Dash fought for her life, punching, kicking and doing anything she could do to get rid of it. Realizing she couldn’t win, she opted for flying away, zigzagging, doing barrel rolls and any other trick she knew to make the bird lose her trail. After flying through the orchard, she looked behind her, letting out a sigh of relief upon discovering that the bird had stopped following her. “Stupid bird… I should return back to my normal size.” Rainbow Dash looked inside her pockets, but she didn’t find it. “What the…? Where is that damned thing?” Suddenly, as if a switch had been flipped inside her head, she remembered the new location of her magic crystal. “This can’t be… I’ll have to retrieve it from inside her stomach, or else I’ll get stuck with this size until Zecora makes me a new one, and that could take months!” Without any more options, Rainbow Dash returned to the farm, searching for Applejack. She started at the barn, but the only one working there was Big Mac. Then she looked in the kitchen, where Granny Smith and Apple Bloom were washing the dishes together. It wasn’t until she looked upstairs that she found Applejack, taking a nap as she snored loudly. “And they say I snore like a horse… She sounds like a timberwolf,” Rainbow Dash though to herself. “Luckily, this will make things easier. I hope…” She gulped loudly before descending towards Applejack’s mouth, covering her nose from her bad breath. In her normal size this had gone unnoticed, but with her current size it turned into a real problem. Gasping for all the air her lungs could keep, Rainbow Dash launched herself into the abyss, slowing her fall as she flapped her wings frantically. Applejack’s throat was too slippery to climb up. “This will be the last time I make fun of Aplejack for taking a nap,” she thought to herself. She didn’t expect Applejack to wake up for hours, but if she did, Rainbow Dash would be able to fly out easily. Rainbow Dash stayed in the air s she went further down Applejack’s body, not wanting her friend to wake up or receive any injuries for walking inside her body. The light diminished as she made her way deep inside, but her eyes quickly became accustomed to the darkness. “How long have I been inside Applejack? This thing doesn’t seem to have an end.” Suddenly, as if the universe was making fun of her, Rainbow Dash finally reached the stomach. The entire place was full of all kind of foods, and flooded with what Rainbow Dash presumed were gastric juices. The magic crystal glowed with small intensity, like a small lighthouse in the middle of the night. Rainbow Dash instinctively flew towards it, snatching it away and holding it close to her chest. “Finally! I thought I’d be stuck like this forever! Or a few months… Whatever, it’s time to get out of here.” The crystal suddenly started to glow even brighter than before, as a magic aura enveloped Rainbow Dash, making her grow quickly. “Oh, no! No, please, no! Not here, not now!” She watched as everything around her shrank at a fast rate, trying to use the crystal to stop her growth before she would burst out of her friend’s stomach. Her head clashed against the stomach’s ceiling, forcing her to lay down as the gastric juices consumed the most part of her clothes, finally stopping before something bad happened. Unfortunately, she was too big to escape, and the crystal had already been used. “Oh, come on! That’s not fair! Now I have to wait I don’t know how long for this stupid thing to cool down and shrink again? Well, this could be worse.” Suddenly, she felt as everything tilted and moved around her, meaning that Applejack had woken up from her nap and was going to keep working. “At least I’m not upside down. I would drown in a matter of minutes…” Meanwhile, Applejack was walking down the stairs, pressing her hand against her belly. “Darn, ah think ah ate too much. Feels like I ate a whole cow or something. Oh, well, there’s work to do in the farm. Maybe this way I’ll empty my stomach.”
